Most of the time now, I use a vitamix and strain it with a mesh strainer. When I had my juice and smoothie bar, I blended it in a vitamix and then ran it through a green star juicer.
My fave is vanilla almond mylk. I had a Soyabella but found it to be a pain to clean. I love my Vitamix as I use it continually for many things. I don’t want to buy anything in single use plastic. Ding! Vitamix the winner at our house!!!❣️❣️❣️
Thanks for the video. Just came across it. Since I discovered store bought almond milk only contains 2 percent almond, I switched to making my own almond milk. I use Nutribullet and it tastes so much better.
Tip! I use a vitmix to make my nut milks! 🤪 But the tip is this, Bless your heart! Instead of a bowl to strain your nut milk into, i use a HUGE Meauring Cup! It comes with a Red Lid! I put the nut bag over the top of the measuring cup, then when I am done squeezing all the milk out, I can just use the Pour Spout to pour milk into a jar, put a lid on it and off to the refrigerator it goes! So far I have found the huge measuring cup at Target and Albertsons! BTW, Thank You, love your video! 😊 🙏
@@KennyandJoann You are most welcomed!! Thank you! I cannot wait to watch more videos! I forgot to say what my favorite milks to make! Almond and Postashio Milk! Amond milk I use any berry with it! But Pastashio, my favorite is Raspberries! God Bless!
You and your wife would be great on America's Test Kitchen! Thank you so much for your comprehensive reviews on the soyabella vs. miomat vs. Vitamix!! I got the soyabella
Thank you, this really helped me. I was trying to decide which nut milk machine to buy, and after watching your video, I've decided... not to buy one, LOL. I'll keep buying the Simply brand, which is my favorite. (I thought it would be cheaper to make my own, but apparently not. The greatly increased calorie count of the homemade almond milk also helped me decide.)
Hi, Thanks for this video demonstration! I have the soyabella and like it but always end up needing to strain the milk anyway because it turns out too grainy. That was such a disappointment to find out after buying it. Any suggestions or am I doing something wrong to keep it from being smooth? Thanks!
Thank you so much! Yes, the Soyabella can make soup. We will have a video out soon, comparing it to the MioMat. Soup will be one of the competition categories. We appreciate you watching!
If you remove the outer brown layer prior to using the Soybella and pulse 10x you will end up with the remaining nuts a creamy, ricotta like mixture, that is excellent in Italian dishes. To remove the outer brown layer simply give them a light squeeze after soaking and it pops right off.
Yup. We even have a video on soaking almonds to pop them out of the brown skin. The ricotta sounds great! Thanks for the tip, Sara! We appreciate you watching!
I use the Soyabella and add the pulp to my steel cut oats for breakfast I do find the maker a bit primitive & not user friendly The buttons on mine read raw & another hot but I'm not sure what the black button is for...I've watched several videos, even looked up model online, reviewed directions...any info on model # SB-130? All in all I appreciate this machine just want to better understand it
It seems the black button is just for power. We have an earlier model with "Milk," "Mill," and "Paste/Off" buttons. You've already done a bunch of research, so you may already have seen this link. It seemed pretty helpful. Thanks so much for watching, Ruth! tribest.com/products/soyabella-sb-130-b
I really love your detailed comparison of the 3 milks. What process did you use as for soaking the nuts as this will be my first time using my Soyabella? Thank you
Thank you so much! Almonds need to be soaked 8-12 hours to release the enzyme inhibitors. Rinse them well before using the Soyabella. Most other nuts need to be soaked 8 hours. Hope that helps! We appreciate you watching!
Calafia is the worst bevause of additional stuff thats in it with almonds therefore being 2,3% ( Calcium Carbonate, Emulsifier (Sunflower Lecithin), Sea Salt, Acidity Regulator (Potassium Citrate), Flavourings, Stabilisers (Locust Bean Gum, Gellan Gum). So,-Soaybella and Vitamix-those two are natural that contain only almonds and water are the best
The only store bought brand we have found that is just nuts, water and salt (one had maple syrup) was Malk. Unfortunately, they completely changed their ingredients recently so we don’t buy it anymore. They are still better than most in a pinch. They have almond, cashew and pecan, I think.
@@LinMar65 Some nuts only need a few hours. Usually, 8 hours is enough for most. The harder the nut, the longer the soak time. Here’s a chart: www.nuthut.ca/blogs/sprouting-information/soaking-times-for-nut-and-seeds-for-sprouting-or-activating-them
It may be harder to digest because the enzyme inhibitors will still be mixed in with the milk. Soaking also makes it easier on the device. Don’t feel bad, though. Just soak them from now on. No big deal. Thanks for watching, Sam!
Green Smoothie Girl has the truly raw almonds as a group buy every Fall. They arrive in the Winter. The nut-milk bag is on Amazon. I believe the description has the links. Thanks so much for watching!
@@KennyandJoann ok Thank you. Would be interesting to watch your take. I just bought an A3500 and wondering if I should just stick with that or for nut milks get a specific device for that.
Vitamix plus a nutmilk bag or the “Vegan Milker” is far superior to the Almond Cow (got one and promply returned it after having so much grit left in the milk and still had to strain it). Extremely disappointed in the AC.
There are lots of good nut milk bags out there. Just look for one that is organic and unbleached. Most are cotton cheesecloth. We hope that helps, Raya! Thanks for watching!

I’ve read that the Tribest and other similar stop working after awhile, or the blades become disengaged etc. I’m done with squeezing nut milk bags. Ugh. Such a mess. I’ve been buying simply almond, but it tastes pretty bland and it’s pricey.
Uh, that's exactly what we teach, so we do know that ... very well. Not sure what your point is, since the two fresh methods did not boil the almonds. They were truly raw almonds that were soaked to activate the enzymes. The Vitamix and Soyabella kept them raw. We weren't advocating store-bought milk. It was just for comparison.
@@KennyandJoann the secret to good oat milk is to not squeeze your nut bag too much or it will make your milk slimy.... That sounded a little bit wrong 😂 but it is accurate
We also have a MioMat video: ruclips.net/video/qeB5UIobOos/видео.html. If you prefer not to use a nut-milk bag, the Soyabella may be your choice. You may want to filter it one more time through a fine strainer, though. They’re all good choices.
