We use it as like a plum bob off the front of the rear end. We can’t always put the tape measure to the front of the rear end. Bars are in the way so this gives us a straight measuring point down.
@@nascarfan7676 we are measuring the rear end. To see how much trail or steer is in the car. Which is how much the LR tire is either leading or trailing the RR tire.

Tight steer and reverse roll-out will solve your tailing out prob, and come off rear percentage.

Put a stiffer shock on right from the and definitely need to stiff the right rear,
