A neat trick with the Bloodhound when using a controller that I found out on accident a while ago, and noticed a lot of people don't know, is when you look at a blood spot and just tap Down on the D-pad, it will track the blood. Holding Down will pull up the wheel but if you just tap it, it will default to the Track command without needing to pull up or use the wheel. Saves only a second, but it can be handy.

Same as how if you walk close to it and press down you will pet it, i think they are called situation interaction. There is a pop up for it in game, dunno if thats new but i noticed when i reset my character in december.

I think the recurve bow is the most op DLC for weapons. the modern pack might be next just because the .338 and .308 .22 is nice but I like using a bow for small game or bird shot for hunting birds. Super helpful guide

Hello I just got my first pc and I recently got hunter call of the wild and thank you for these videos I’ve been taking your tips and I got all of the DLC’s and they helped allot thank you and keep up the good work
I need that 300 mag rifle, also need that King 470 for the Savanah mission and still trying to get 16 tents and tripods for my whitetail grind. I keep spending money on taxidermy though. What can I say, I like my trophies 🏆 LOL. It's a lot harder to stack cash since the spook radius update.
If you're a good shot you can shot ducks/gesse for money or shot bisons as Thier the slowest class 9 animal in the game
Amazing video, thank you for this, it's helped me decide on a couple DLCs. A couple notes about the tent: tents and ground blinds come with the console version of the game, no dlc purchase necessary and you get one of each color variation for free; sleeping in a tent to pass time is cheaper than sleeping at an outpost. It's not a huge difference, I think the first night is $188 compared to $250 at an outpost. Just a small way to save a few bucks that I hope helps someone 😊

Hey lady, just got my 3rd great one moose at 182 kills!!! Unfortunately I messed up the 2nd one because he turned as I shot and what made it worse is he didn’t save in my trophy manager for some reason. Decided to grind out one more to get redemption and a fabled oak quad paddle showed up!!!

I am in awe by the amount of diamond moose she has. I got the game a few days ago and I've only gotten up to silver or gold.
I've been playing it since it came out, but I've only gotten a few.
No moose though.
Focused on moose for the past couple of days and am also still pretty new to the game and just got my first diamond today with a trophy score of 300. There were tons of gold moose on the way tho so stay patient!

SO DAMN UNDERRATED
My favourite dlc is without doubt the ar- weapon pack. Only because of the zarza 308. The other two ar are pretty useless, compared to already existing weapons in game. But the 308 is a gamechanger. Rivaled by the m1. I play on ps4 and feel the zarza is a bit easier to make fast and precise followups. So for grinding, this one is awesome.

Useless? I thought the same but I really like the .223 with lynx, Raccoons, etc.
I prefer the bolt action 223 and the virant 22 over the zarza. I feel the 223 is more precise, and the 22 zarza need bigger magazine to match the virant.
Most weapon packs follow the same rule having one top tier gun and the other two are like okay or fun guns i.e the air rifle
@@glenstaalesen2939 I definitely like the Docent .223 for its weight 2 vs. the Zarza .223's 3, but I really like the Zarza .223 for its quick ability to follow up.
If I am getting a bit heavy I'll go Docent, but otherwise I go Zarza .223.
Does the tripod stand have a reduced spook radius when deploying? I've noticed that animals dont spook when you drop a tripod over 150m away, but they will spook if you drop a blind at 200m or so.
Yes they do. I can drop at 150 and they don't spook
I just picked up the game for free on Epic Games so spending about $11 bucks on these DLC's is the cherry on top! can't wait to try out that Zarza 300, the night vision and the 300 Canning Mag and the Virant 22LR! thanks for the video!

The bloodhound seems super buggy mainly the command system normally it will break after giving the dog some sort of praise happens to me all the time on xbox

I’ve tried the dogs, but just find them distracting. And the high tech pack doesn’t give you that much, just adds to what you need to carry.

How do you hunt at night without the high tech pack?
It's in my top3 of most usefull DLCs ingame. The other two are the tents DLC and either the modern weapons pack or weapons pack 1 just for the .22. Which one of those 2 comes down to preference. Obviously the virant is better, but the zarza 308 is godly. And if you like bow hunting the choice is easy ofc. Or you just wait for a sale on steam and buy both, lol.
@@leefswgoh7558 LOL I've bought them all (and all on sale!). But normal binoculars will show targets at night, perhaps not quite as clearly, but well enough. I honestly usually don't bother to equip them even if specifically going out for a night hunt. The one benefit of the High-Tech pack used to be the rangefinder scope, but that's been rather nerfed since distances come up in the info box. But of course, everyone's playing styles and preferences are personal!
Great video, slight correction regarding the Miller Model 1891; you can't quite shoot everything. You can shoot Class 1 with birdshot, but the buckshot is Class 4-7 and the slugs Class 6-9 so you can't kill class 2 or 3 with it.

@@zakkmarchant Yeah, mostly for fowl though. I like shotguns for their compact versatility, but I tend to find the buckshot a bit lacking against anything on the larger side of the range.
The 1891 is one of my favourites too because it means I have birdshot, the buckshot packs a real punch and if I need to I can slap some slugs in there and take down a water buffalo with relative ease.
I mostly don't use slugs going after non-class 9 animals, but it happens. I mean if I have a 12 Gauge with 4-8 slugs and a 4-8 rifle then I'll usually go for the rifle.

so i am pretty (very) new to call of the wild and i am just wondering if there is much difference between the 7mm’s. I see two of them in the shop but one takes a better rifle score. is one different or are they the same?
They are exactly the same they just look different 😀

I play on console which helps cus im also not big on buying dlc that i feel shouldve been in the game to begin with lol but the 3 i bought were the night vision, modern weapon, and treestand/tripod dlc and the map i bought was emerald coast, has been doin great for me so far

Yeah, that is what I found too. theHunter is one of the main ways I've kept sane during the pandemic. Just have a rough day, get home, take it easy, load up theHunter and go for a walk, enjoy the scenery and maybe shoot a deer or two.

@@masterjenkins632 Yeah, I totally get that. For me setting up a well-aimed shot is kind of chill as well. I spot something, get a rough estimation of the range, check wind(if I remember to.😁), line it up, hold my breath and squeeze the trigger. Sometimes I miss, but I have a pretty good track record on first shot hits, first shot vital organ hits slightly less good of a track record, but pretty decent anyway.

Yeah, I'm "that guy"; I gotta have the DLCs (for this game). And frankly, only Missisippi gives me some regrets as I think that's the worst place.
Trophy Lodges are very much a matter of taste. They're great if you want a place to memorialise your favourite harvests, but yes, they have no effect on the playing of the game itself, like the cosmetics packs, and for many people they'd be a waste. But do consider the Smoking Barrels Pack as the 10-gauge shotgun is a beast (and I like the M1 too).

Are tents the same as the atvs? Because there are no packs for them. They came with the base game on console.
I think tents come for free on XBox only. Otherwise they are found in the tents and ground blind dlc
I have a question, I’m a person who when I’m playing games, I kind of wanna *earn* the guns and not just spawn in game and get all these awesome guns by the DLC without doing anything. If I buy these, will I get these instantly and ruin my gameplay or when I buy the dlc I have to buy it in game or earn it and it will balance my gameplay ?
The wep packs are unlocked instantly, but the map guns such as Can mag 300 on Yukon, needs you to complete a series of missions to unlock. A few maps have weapon unlocked, so maybe focus on those? gl and hf!!!

Quick question can you pick up the tents
Yes. Place them down, pick them up. No limit, except 16 down per map. So if you have 16 tents down in one map and you want to place another one, you have to pack up one of the ones you have down first.
Do you have to have all zones found to get a great one
No but having all the zones ensures continual respawns

Are you using herd management? If so, shoot them from main lakes and leave them on exterior lakes and move your tent and tripod to where there are bigger deer

Smoking barrels pack
I cant find any info in this question: if i buy a DLC, does that get me these weapons/equpiment or do i still need to pay in game money to buy them?
Weapons that come in a weapon pack are $0 to buy in the store. DLC Weapons that comes with a map, you have to pay for. Ie. the 300 is $75,000 and comes with the yukon valley DLC.

You look and sound a lot like my old track coach coach Hillary
I don't use zeroing, that way you learn to shoot with every gun using the thumb rule - under 280m aim for the lung, over 280m the spine and above a bit if the distance is even longer, but you can run to 300m from an animal without it noticing you, so it's irrelevant. With zeroing you have to use this calculation 3x, not worth it.
Kind of sucks if you’d have to buy the base game + all of the dlc nowadays because I think it was less than a year ago when humble bundle had a $15 package that included the base game + all of the current dlc up to that point (or at least most of it), which is a deal I don’t see often with this game.
I also find the night vision dlc kind of a rip off. The night vision scope has terrible zoom (not even as good as the Hyperion) and hunting at night is quite simple if you turn off your flashlight, you can see like it’s daytime outside. When you use the NV Bino’s it can be helpful, but the scope is horrible.
I feel like it just puts a green filter over your screen and doesn’t make it any easier to see at night than just turning your flashlight off.
It’s sad because Stalker Anomaly/Gamma mods have night vision that is way more realistic and cool looking, and that’s a mod to a game from 2009. Yet somehow the graphics and visuals look miles better than the “night vision” the devs put into COTW. It felt very lazy, especially since we have had no updates to it whatsoever since it’s release.
They should add a retriever dog.
