It’s technically classified as a Sony Pictures Entertainment film instead of Sony pictures animation. Very weird but that’s how they did it. Seems like their animation is being more tied into streaming releases.

So technically not a Sony Pictures Animation. I'm wondering if I should just consolidate these in the future.
For whatever reason the first angry birds was released under “Sony Pictures Releasing” but was only distributed by Columbia Pictures and Rovio Animation (who did the animation) and not Sony Pictures Animation. But the second movie was and Rovio animation was not envolved. So technically it’s a Columbia Pictures and Rovio Animations movie. But yeah very weird.

Yeah mostly due to the covid reaction in those years. Those movies went right to streaming the same time as being in theatres.
