I’m not going to insult you by saying you don’t know what you’re saying but I’m not sure if you know what a PUNCHLINE actually is. Wayne isn’t a punchline rapper and he’s in my top 3 all time. Wayne was like a flow, metaphor and similes type rapper. A punch line is a dope line That’s witty and quick yet unique. Makes you go “Oooooo” Wayne has punches but not back to back to be considered a punch line rapper

@@CloakEngaged Em is a technician. He can rhyme words that you didn't even know go together because he's a hip-hop nerd. Story teller, metaphor, similes, Bars, punching different flow patterns and he been battle tested.. Only thing he lacks is relatability to core hip-hop fans. Because most of his fans don't really listen to rap just him. As far a Big L. He primarily a puncher who can do a lot of those things. But we unfortunately didn't get to see him evolve and it's lack of evidence.

Montana of 300 may be the most consistent punchline rapper of recent years. Sometimes, he's a bit too simile dependent, but at his best, you have to listen to a verse about 3 times to really dissect everything. Even me as a fellow philly native, all bias aside, Cas will always be on the Mt.Rushmore of that lane tho!

Damn near every line in Eminem's verses are punchlines, multiple times I've heard him give 3 different styles of rap in a single verse, multiple times you have to listen to his songs because you always catch something new...and the double and triple entendres are crazy and they're everywhere in his songs... Like how does he keep being left out of conversations about lyrical skills?

@@Cameo131 yeah you're right. However, if you count the SSLP as his first album (and not Infinite) then that means he started in '99. Recovery dropped in 2010. It's 2023 now. That means most of his career he's been rapping like this. Even still, if you say storytelling is one of the hallmarks of a great rapper, then again, he's still top of his class with that skill--namely with "Stan" and "My Fault"--in a gang of songs.
