I’m just gonna pin this here because it’s important to me. This is the 9am slot for grand finals day so being a thinner crowd is pretty normal. Also, the weird seating arrangements for EVO Japan meant a majority of the audience with regular price tickets couldn’t sit at the front. So the front of the audience looked 1/4 full all day for all grand finals while the cheaper seats were more full at the back and in the 2nd/3rd floor gallery. From being there in person I definitely wouldn’t describe BBTag as “dead” so I hope the video here doesn’t make it seem that way. Audience behind me sounded quite excited at the announcement! I’m looking forward to the new characters :)

People just like to pronounce everything dead. Whether its a defense mechanism (preparing for the worst), or because they're trying to bring down a franchise that competes with their preferred game, I am not sure, maybe some of each.

A game doesnt need to have an overbooked seated competition and a huge player base to not be dead. It's kind of annoying seeing people go so hard on it for being "dead" just because there isn't an entire concert audience screaming at the top of their lungs. This isn't overwatch, the player base is just consistent and niche. Nothing more than that but definitely nothing less.

These are already established characters with unique play-styles. The overall purpose for each was already put in place. Going in and taking away characters functionality because of lame excuses like having 3 assist makes up for it is the most foolish thing I've ever heard. Most assist are garbage and when a character on a team dies, the lone character is even more in trouble because a bunch of their neutral tools (designed so they can fight properly) are either not in the game or placed behind unneeded auto-combos (We already have chain combos). It's the equivalent of removing Akuma's Dragon Punch and teleport, placing his Demon Flip behind an auto-combo route and removing 40% of his normal attacks. Every character doesn't need a universal overhead, anti-air or sweep. The fact that some characters have these and others don't is what makes match-ups more interesting. Homogenizing when it's not needed. It's f--cking backwards that they made a game engine and shoehorned established characters into it instead of the other way around. They can't place a bunch of their assets into this limited engine, but a game like Marvel can put ALL of these characters untouched into it's engine. SMH When fans of these 3 games saw the trailer last year, the first thing that comes to mind is they get to used the characters they're familiar with on teams. NO other team fighter in existence waters down characters to the point they become "someone else". Long-time fans have been betrayed and the game has caused a separation in the ArcSys/anime-fighter player-base instead of bringing all of them together. What reason does Japan have to invest in such a game when they have highly competitive communities in all of the mainline games where their favorites have all of their tools? That is why the large majority of those players pay this game no mind at all. 2. The game is a cluttered mess. They placed the Under-Night camera on this game and it's a big limitation to freedom. Character's air options are limited because they placed an invisible barrier above one screen space. The Unist camera can work in a 1v1, but a 2v2 with all characters constantly on the screen? It's one of the main reason certain teams are so dominant. There's no space to move vertically. It's doesn't even make sense. You can go vertically higher when you do air combos, but when using a super jump that's designed to allow for higher jumping, you're not allowed the properly use of that function. That lack of functionally screws up a massive amount of BB and P4 characters. Hazama can't move around with chains, Jubei can't dip and dodge, Yosuke can't glide, Izayoi can't fly and confuse. SMH Every other team game with super jumps has the camera following the jumping character. You can't even launch an air counter attack in this game.
@@david2618 That's because ArcSys keeps making weak networking tools that don't work for a *global* community. Also, BBtag is a newer game. BBCF's last update was over a year ago. I get the feeling they're trying to push BBCF out in favor of BBtag. That's going to be a disaster because people that like BBCF will just take their business elsewhere.
I've seen a couple of reaction videos for this, and the excitement was definitely there! One player from top 8 even (playfully) fainted on stage when Arcana Heart got announced. BBTAG and Arcana Heart were even trending on Twitter. Some of these comments show that some people are worried about the wrong thing (people filling seats in the MORNING), while others are as excited as Ebonic Plague. Nonetheless, BBTAG looks like it's going to be around for a while, and I'm looking forward to it!!
Hopefully Byakuya and Wagner for Under Night later. As for Arcana Heart, I'm so glad to see it back! Saki must be joining too if Heart is here. I want Kira though. She's the most memorable character (Lilia too).
Still waiting on GgvsBB like they promised. Glad to see there’s still some hype for this game. I didn’t buy it because I wasn’t too keen on the way it played. It felt a bit rushed I might pick it up one day just to try it. The only thing is ps4 or the switch version
If I was you, I wouldn't buy it. Compared to Blazblue Central Fiction, it leaves a lot to be desired. It feels more like an attempt to cash-grab. I mean, they're selling characters in 3-packs and can't be bought in singles.
I just got home and got flooded with friend's pms and discord chats of this news. MAAB is getting NA steam release and arcana heart made bbtag, this is way too awesome for 2 days of news. Next arcana characters: I'm hoping for Minori, but expect Saki and maybe Weiss, Akane, or Petra. I'm definetly excited I will have reason to play BBTag for awhile again and hope people give arcana a try, after knowing about it. And the fact that I will get more MAAB players to play now, that it'll be on international steam, and gives hope to a ps4 international port it deserves. and examu gets some free money it definetly could use 6th fate, I'll make a prediction. Chaos Code. based on the fact that light blue matches some of the light parts of CC logo. and the fact that its another super under rated ASW licenced game that can use free promotion this game might give it.

well to be honest they actually need more advertisements lol. Street Fighter, Soul Calibur and Tekken 7 are all over the place in advertisements, like in movie previews, ads, tv commercials everything. It may not seem like it, but advertisements work. Which is why so many companies big or small invest so much time and money into it.

I guess it makes sense as a marketing standpoint, but I really wish we had more diversity in this game and different series with some gender diversity. Really what I'm saying is, I want jojo.
