Those days have gone, when that Swedish gent was saying about the pollution in Europe was killing the eels, that was when the collapse of eel started, in Europe first and slowly getting smaller in numbers in the rest of the Atlantic, Plus the ships ploughing though the weed rafts that the Eels use to spawn on

We fished eels in NB and NS for almost 25 years and we caught on average 100000lbs per year.
    I miss those days

"so we may as well catch ALL the silver before they get to the see?" "Of course! Why not?"
per wikipedia: at its peak, the eel harvest was valued at $600,000 and, in some years, eel accounted for almost half of the value of the entire commercial fish harvest from Lake Ontario. The commercial catch of American eel has declined from approximately 223,000 kilograms (kg) in the early 1980s to 11,000 kg in 2002.[35]
:( You can't always catch all the fish everywhere, you gotta let some go

Fools. Just like the salmon fishermen. Thinking you can take out as much fish as you want and not affect the ecosystem. There is always a limit.
