Re-encountered this song on tik tok (as probably many of you have) and it made me realize I haven’t thought about this video for a while. So, I decided to come visit since I was feeling nostalgic. And wow… Let me just say, I am simply overwhelmed with appreciation. To think that after all this time my small little rendition of this mashup would be seen by so many people just blows my mind. Thank you all for enjoying! 💕 After scrolling through the recent comment section though, I feel the need to address some things. The current title is the way it is because that’s the original ship that allowed me to find this song. Steven Universe and Undertale have always held special places in my heart (unsurprisingly for both their wonderful soundtracks), but it makes me sad to see people gatekeeping and ruining the good vibes for others. I was listening to the song on Spotify while reading ship fanfic then I thought how great this suited the both of them Then I was like I MUST FIND ONE ON RUclips
As much as love Ash/Eiji, this song also gives me big Sora/Riku energy. Especially, the lyrics "When I see the way you act, wondering when I'm coming back." Reminds me of how Sora/Riku are always being separated from each other but will both go to great lengths in order to reunite again. In particular, it makes me picture KH2 Riku watching Sora from afar, knowing fully well that Sora has been searching for him the whole time. "I always thought I might be bad, now I'm sure that it's true. Cause' I think you're so good and I'm nothing like you." Along with, "...I wish that I knew, what make you think I'm so special?" Echoes Riku's insecurities regarding his fall to darkness and feeling undeserving of Sora's friendship as a result. "Even though I can't compare and I'm sorry if I stare, I just want to do everything." Represents Sora's side of things quite poignantly. It conveys his self-doubt about his own abilities since he sees himself as being outmatched by Riku throughout the series--even idolizing him to some extent. Finally, "Maybe I can learn how to love?" Showcases how Sora is still questioning what love is, which is most notable in KH3's PotC world when he comments "I still have a lot to learn about love." Anyways sorry for the essay, but overall, I just believe this duet in particular captures the depth of their relationship, their mutual adoration, as well as how much they are willing to sacrifice for one another.

That is another fandom interpretation of the song. The song is from a different show. I understand that the video was meant for them, but that was the creator of the videos interpretation of the song, the song wasn’t meant by the singers to be error x ink so I don’t see how what I’m doing is wrong.
