We recently bought one of these and just took it on a 2500 mile road trip. We averaged 32.5 mpg for the trip with an average speed of 70 mph (meaning that half of the driving was in the city, half at 90 mph+ on the freeway). Shockingly efficient and a great touring vehicle.
Bought one. Simply brilliant and lovely to drive and ride in. Only quibble is console screens can give off some nasty glare at times. Gas mileage way better than EPA rating 24 in town and 30-34 highway
@@mtnx7 Yes at all! I think the top tier wagon list would probably go VW Wagon --> Subaru Outback --> Audi A6 Allroad --> Volvo Cross Country --> E-class wagon --> E-class wagon AMG in terms of luxuriousness and comfort. Outback is very comfortable, but the others are nicer inside, albeit less reliable
Steve, In an automotive world of excellent wagon options, I live in hope the wealthy can make wagons fashionable in the US again. With only one reasonably economical wagon left in the form of the Outback, there is much work to be done.
This All-Road For 2021 Audi is truly the Caitlyn Jenner of wagons: glamorous for a night out in Malibu, yet utilitarian enough for a trip to Whole Foods in The Hamptons. It is all business in the front and party in the rear. I am going to give this a 'buy' recommendation. C'mon just get one man. 4 Olympic Golds/ 5
That A6 allroad looks good. However, in the luxury wagon market, not only does Audi have to look after the Mercedes E-Class wagon, they also has to compete with Volvo and their V90 wagon.
I always loved the 540i wagon, so wanted to remind myself how long it’s been since that car was around. Wow, I’m old!! Sounds like I’m ripe for a wagon like this, that cruises nicely down the road. One question: This, or V90? Thanks for another great review.
I think my mind was so focused on the Germans I wasn’t giving the Volvo much thought. But that V90 CC is excellent in every way. I would probably choose that, to be honest.
As much as I like this wagon, I believe this A6 Advant will sell less then exotics from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce…etc. Making ironically more exotic than the exotics! ( see the Lexus IS wagon, and Jaguar X-type wagon as examples).
@@stevehammes I guess you're right, partly... I just checked, the petrol 55TFSI has Ultra, however, the 50 TDI, gets the classic center diff. I guess cars with torque numbers from a certain point up, they get the center diff, the lower torque ones get the Ultra.

90+ on the freeway????
@@stevehammes Yep, from Montana all the way through Idaho and Nevada until Reno. 90 is pretty much what traffic is at.
Great highway mileage has been our experience too but not going that fast
Thanks for reviewing this rare beauty Steve.
My pleasure!

What a beauty. Quiet as a bank vault.
Underrated vehicle for sure!
I'm glad to see that station wagons are still around
This is what Outback buyers aspire too, I should know because I have an Outback but love the look of this one!
Not at all.

Perfectly proportioned and moves with such style. Tough choice between this and the V90, though the V6 might sway me.
The A6/allroad gives you additional storage on the left side of the steering wheel. It’s like a 2nd glovebox. Pretty deep and big
Yes, my wife loves that cubby
I call that the gun-cubby! 😆👍
I'm glad to see this audi vehicle again

Welcome back indeed.
Oddly enough I always thought the BMW 3 Wagon was for the secretly wealthy. Always loved the Avant line. Great review as always.
Thanks for watching!
That's a good looking wagon! Well done Audi.
Test drove this last year and loved it however my wife bought an outback instead. Luckily saved us about $20k😂
Always loved these wagons
Nice review as always.
Feedback: maybe I missed it but if possible, show some footage of the engine while talking about it.
I usually do but sometimes I feel like it’s just a big plastic cover and kind of boring.
@@stevehammes Understandable. 👍🏾
Chances are if you’re buying this car you’re not looking under that hood lol
Thanks for the nfo, Steve!

i like that!! good review
Well done review

True. Can’t forget the Swede.
They aren’t much competition and are leaving the US market
❤️ this wagon! 😞 that it isn’t an EV
Would you choose this or a q8?
Waiting for the vw passat n touareg Steve

Yacht rock🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love wagons but this beautiful car will be a absolute nightmare to maintain after the five year warranty is up 😢
Steve, the Quattro Ultra is only available on cars with 2.0L engines or smaller. 3.0L and above get a classic permanent 40/60 F/R Quattro setup.
Only the S6 gets standard quattro. This one has ultra.

@@dimekoza TDIs in the States are dead. This is the only allroad powertrain here.
Nice wide tires! I hope with $100 down I can finance for $250 a month for 36 months.
Good luck!

Ach jongen toch: een audi als dit kost geen reet in Duitsland. En met die achterlijke snelheid bij jullie op de highway😁👍🍻
You might not make there or back from your house in the woods with this Audi....
" Stationary piece of junk!" (Scotty Kilmer, 2020)......
Huh. I don’t really care what led him to say this but I had zero problems with mine.
Love this wagon, but grossly over priced! Horrible gas mileage and premium gas ! Thanks but no thanks.... Audi you need to do better!
Needs a diesel option
Actually gas mileage is way better in reality. We get about 24 in city and up to 34 on highway at steady 70-75mph
