I've been off BC for about 10 years. My experience has been that you'll naturally get in tune with your body. I think the book would be helpful, but after some time, you'll probably just know what's going on. There are also so many period tracking apps that you can use to see where you are you in your cycle as well. I'm saying this to share--don't stress! Humans have lived for thousands of years without BC.

Thank you for not demonizing birth control. I remember reading all these nightmare stories about being on the pill and how bad it is - well, for me it's literally such a blessing. Hopefully getting off it will be just as good. Lovely vlogs xx

I've never used birth control pills, always just used condoms, but it is true that you can get in tune with your body. I am at the stage now where I know when I'm ovulating without even tracking it because of subtle changes my body goes through during that time :) Wish you all the best! It's great and empowering to feel so in tune with yourself! x

Literally the same experience, and it’s insane how even doctors belittle the amount of pain and risk. I’ve heard doctors on YT who talk highly about the IUD and I’m over here having it out for years STILL having side effects. And then my gyno almost put me on a medication that would have caused blood clots due to my disability- I only managed to miss that issue because a pharmacist did the consult for the first pick up. Be careful with your bodies and do extensive research, I have way too much knowledge on neurology and behavioral health from experience and college education so it’s sad to see people who have degrees etc not being cautious and giving false information in any medical area. I’m so sorry you had that happen, it can be truly traumatic for people 💕

    Hey,🌼
I came off the pill just over a year ago to give my body a reset. I have recently found out I have PCOS and endometriosis, the pill was just hiding the symptoms. Which once finding out made so much sense, since I had a problem with ance and painful periods.
Hope your journey coming off the pill goes well, and your hormones are able to reset. With my journey being so emotionally up and down. I always pray blessing for any other woman who decides to go off the pill. Can't wait to see. 😁

I just wanted to say I really appreciated the sit down talking portion of this video. This sounds a little pathetic, but when the pandemic started all of my friends moved out of town and state (literally ALL of them! how does that happen!? lol) and I've been working alone from home, so it was nice to feel like I was having that girl talk again that I've been missing since they all moved. It was really nice to see that more vulnerable side of you. I'll be praying alongside you for your attitude/health/and whatever God has planned in store for you and Aj to start building your family. :)

Hey Rachel love your vlogs I've been having you on the background while I work or while I shower (lol) the past month! Anyways, my sister is an orthodontist and she told me to never immediately brush your teeth straight after eating/drinking! Wait at least 30 mins to an hour, otherwise your teeth enamels will be scraped away when brushing. The toothbrushing motion is also super important :D goodluck on the health journey

I feel like everyone has a different point of their life where pregnancy can seem like a blessing and some points where pregnancy can be scary
I'm literally only 21 years old but I can try to understand how it feels like cause it's an emotional and financial commitment . Pregnancy can be a boon but at the same time you should be prepared for health emergencies / Conditions that can come along pray to god that nothing happens but yes I have seen videos where parents did not have money to take care of the child and the child has high level autism / A genetic disability . We all should be prepared for it .

💚the music is so chill, it's like movies you watched in the car as a kid taking a trip out of town. There's nothing to be worried about, whatever you got is what you will use to help you onto this journey. Foundations are set, and as time passes the more ready you become. It's still trials but anytime we find ourselves stressed or want to curse, we know who to cry to, at least you Rachel you know who to cry to. Be audible to be heard is all you need to do so we never have to hear the accuser telling us otherwise in what we expose🌟. What we shed to be so we can have our fellowship restored. And we are all excited for the next one🎶.

Amazing video, Rachel! I am SOOO beyond happy that you were open about your birth control journey. Ironically, I just had the IUD put in me yesterday. I was in so much pain, and I have a high pain tolerance. Today, thankfully is much better. I’m hoping all goes well with it. I was on the depo shot but it decreased my bone density after being on it for 8 years.
I pray everything goes smoothly for you getting off birth control and would love to hear your journey. 💖 I was also laughing so hard I cried because of Vinny in this video 😂

I came off mine after 8 years in the beginning of 2022. My hubby and I aren't trying to start a family yet - but if it happens, it happens! We feel we in a comfortable place to get pregnant even if it's not in our immediate plans. Overall, I think it was the best thing I could have done for myself. I feel so much happier and that my anxiety medication is actually working, less bloated and not struggling with trying to lose weight as I was before, sleeping better, more energy, less brain fog, and well, let's say my relationship much spicier.. 🤣😍 I don't plan on going back on it any time soon! We're highschool sweethearts as well, 11 years together this year and my hubby says that I'm the happiest he's seen me in years!

💚 wishing you so many blessings on this journey Rachel! I've also read through "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and done FAM. It's majorly empowering, and kinda cool to discover how brilliant and unique our female body is!
And dang, I feel along with you in having those debilitating cramps 😥 it's awful. I've never been on the pill so thankfully I've been able to solve it through nurtritional supplements. Wishing you the best as you come off the pill and rediscover your body's rhythm, and whatever happens, there's a way through! ❤

A little bit of unsolicited advice. You will become more in control of your body when you realize that you don’t actually have control. The best thing you can do is treat your body well and be patient. Your body will talk to you as long as you listen. I like you was on birth control for a while, tried different ones had different experiences etc… and then I had a baby. And with all of that my body still continues to change and groove to the best of its own drum.

If your pee is abnormal, like yellowish and you get a burning feeling, maybe get checked for UTI. It is pretty common if the weather is dry or if you haven’t been drinking enough water. Hope you feel better soon.. 💜

I've been off the pill for 3 months now. My face broke out again, but not horrible. The pill was destroying my digestive system. It was rough, I had an allergic reaction to dairy and gluten. I stopped the pill and it helped my stomach regulate better. The pill helped the acne, but not that great. I switched to Natural Cycles for BC and that has been great. I have had some crazy mood swings, but my period has always come while on BC and after. I wanted it that way. Also, I've stopped drinking coffee and switching to Matcha everyday. its helping alot with my headaches and anxiety. :) Good luck!

And your not alone with those cramps when you had a IUD, I had the same! It was like having contractions, the only position that helped me was squatting deeply for about 5min..

the headaches and going pee every hour might be from extra or too much caffeine?! for me it always happens when I have too much espresso or even just an extra cup of my favorite coffee without fueling up or drinking lots of water in between. Days I just have my usual iced americano or white chocolate mocha it never happens--but days I feel like i need that extra boost it ALWAYS follows with a headache and numerous trips to the restroom

However I was on the depo provera for 1 year and I came off it in Jan 2021 and my period still has not returned (who would have thought it would take over a year to come back, I believe I am now showing PMS symptoms so shouldn’t be much longer) but the wait has been infuriating. Highly recommend to check out the book "In the Flo" by Alisa Vitti - as this is what convinced me to get off hormonal birth control in 2020 when I had been on it for 6 years I think?!. I had horrendous mood swings. I then got a copper IUD which did hurt a lot for a few months but it has somewhat settled now although it has my period longer and heavier unforch. I do think the fertility awareness method can be good, I 100% know when I am ovulating now, but definitely wanna be ok with the fact that you mayyyy get pregnant if it's your only form of contraception. Anyways the book basically teaches you how to naturally manage your hormones with proper food exercise activities etc.

I tried hormonal birth control as in the pill due to an imbalance of my hormones not for family planning or avoiding pregnancy and it was horrible the fact that I had to try and remember to take it at the same time each day I just couldn’t do it my life is non routine. I got about a year and a half ago got the Skyla IUD insertion was minimal pain no cramping and it’s the best birth control for me. I will say I did see Michelle reads blog about it and I was intrigued as well but again I need hormonal birth control for a hormone in balance that I have but be cool to hear more about it

Also, your uterus can pivot and actually become backwards so take that into consideration and make sure people communicate with you. I had no idea that was possible, I thought you were born that way but I can hop in from sitting a lot or from daily activities that may cause it to pivot. So ask questions and try to get as much information as you can because there’s way too much false media and false reviews out there to trust it

yes i have a retroverted uterus and knew that before getting the IUD! i wonder if that had anything to do with my bad experience

@@RachelVinn Went through the comments and so glad I found this. I have a retroverted uterus and I'm considering an IUD. I haven't seen a health professional but Google says an IUD can be inserted incorrectly if the gynecologist doesn't recognize the position of the uterus.

If you want to learn more about your hormones and cycle, listen to the Hormone Genius podcast. It is so helpful for learning about different parts of the cycle and your moods, and then using that to your advantage.
