      Christy Lyn,
      I just found you from this video I'm doing the same thing with the same product but I bought a 7N ash blind because some of my pieces are darker blond then others... Do you think a 7 would be ok? I bought it bit can return it back to get the lighter one of you think that would be better .. my hair is so dry so I thought about puting conditioner in on the ends I don't know what I'm doing I just hope it turns out kind of like yours did!! Wish me luck!! Lol
      Just hit the bell so I can see all your other videos! Take care and be safe everyone😉

    Thank you for this video! I discovered the hard way that if you try toning a balayage with T18 that it actually lifts your darker color and leaves it brassy. Not the look I was going for! Brad Mondo actually turned me on to this but I was hoping to see the actual results in a video. Thanks again!!

    I use 2 tubes 10na and half of 8n.I can never find a 9na. So the mix I created works for me. it may come out a little darker but it get lighter with every hair was. I didn't know about washing it out. I just rinse it out and than deep condition. Thank God no irritation to my scalp has ever happened.

I did not record me doing it unfortunately because I wasn’t sure if I was going to like how it turned out. I wish I would have though! Would this work using ION demi color with the wella activating lotion?

    • @SimpleMomming
      @SimpleMomming  4 года назад

      The box says not to use different brands with each other and specifically says the activating lotion is only to be used with this dye. I wouldn’t recommend trying to mix 😘

  • @thisisaname4661
    @thisisaname4661 6 лет назад +3

    Did you not find this dye to be overly liquid-y? I just used it and I couldn't believe how liquid it was. It was dripping all over the place.

    • @SimpleMomming
      @SimpleMomming  6 лет назад

      Hmm... I didn’t think it was super liquidity personally. How much of the activating cream did you use? If you used more than I did that could be why because I think the activator is fairly liquid-y. I didn’t have too much of a problem with it dripping (unless I overshot and missed my hair 🤣) or if I over saturated my hair at all it might drip a little but other than that, I didn’t run into it being a problem. I’m sorry to hear it didn’t go as smoothly for you. Hopefully you at least liked the end result color-wise..? :)

    • @thisisaname4661
      @thisisaname4661 6 лет назад +2

      @@SimpleMomming I used 2oz of colour to 4oz of activating lotion. I'm kind of "Meh" with the colour. I used a 7N and it definitely looks more like a 6. Maybe even a 5. Darker than what I wanted. Also it's kind of a drab colour. Which is weird because I've used Ion demi in 7N without issue. Maybe I should have mixed it with some plum dye I have. It's underwhelming.

    • @SimpleMomming
      @SimpleMomming  6 лет назад

      Oh no! That’s so disappointing to hear! I’m really sorry you’re not happy with your results! I actually picked up the 7N as well but haven’t tried it yet. Maybe I better return it after hearing your experience with the color :( I’ve been using the 8N (after this video I started) and it’s a nice color I think, but they only had one box left so I got the 7N to mix with it, but I might not try that after all! The good news is, since these are Demi Permanents they will wash out with time! Mine typically fades after just a couple weeks or so. So, hopefully your color will fade fast too so you can try something else you like better!
      Next week I’m getting in a new brand to try that sounds very promising; Madison Reed. I’m going to be filming my first impression review of their toning gloss. They don’t use any harsh chemicals (even less harsh than the Wella Demi’s) and it’s supposed to leave your hear nourished and shiny! I have high hopes that it may work better than these but I’ll let you know in my upcoming review (probably in the next 2 weeks). You’ll have to let me know what you end up trying next with your hair and if you like it. Best of luck in the mean time! ☺️

    • @thisisaname4661
      @thisisaname4661 6 лет назад +1

      @@SimpleMomming Yeah I would stick with the 8N. It actually isn't terrible now that I've had a bit of time to adjust. I just didn't want to be a brunette. But you're right in that it will fade.
      I've been interested in Madison Reed. Look forward to a review!

    If you use demi color on your hair and use wella color charm activating lotion with it, is is supposed to fade or grow out with a line of demarcation? I ask because I just used that combo using ION demi color in 9NA and it made my hair so dark. I'm surprised it went do dark. I just wanted to tone the copper/brass that was growing out from previously colored hair. I had about 3 in roots of my natural color. The combo of 9NA with the activating lotion colored my roots and my gray and everything. My hair is very fine.

    • @SimpleMomming
      @SimpleMomming  4 года назад

      ION tends too be a LOT darker than described on the box! 🙄 I always go lighter just in case. But don’t worry, demi permanent colors WILL fade over time. You shouldn’t be stuck with that color for too long ☺️ it will eventually fade nearly completely after maybe a month or two (depending how often you wash) and you’ll want to reapply your color again at that time. Maybe next time just choose a shade or two lighter. Let me know how it works out!

    • @annaburns5382
      @annaburns5382 4 года назад

      @@SimpleMomming I sure hope it fades. I used to use volume 10 developer with ION 10 NA demi color and Sallys said it would not be permanent, but it was! I got roots from it. I was trying to let all that grow out. Thanks for your reply.

    Would this work if you have highlights and not completely dyed hair?

    • @SimpleMomming
      @SimpleMomming  4 года назад

      It might make the highlights blend a bit in to the rest of your hair. What I mean is it might lighten the rest of your hair a little bit so your highlights won’t like quite as “highlighted”

      @SimpleMomming  5 лет назад +1

      You have to use the lotion that goes with the dye. There is nothing else you can use instead of it with that brand of dye.
      I have found a new dye that I really like which is called Garnier Olia hair color. Everything you need comes in the box and it is very gentle on your hair (it also does not use ammonia). I would highly recommend Garnier Olia if you don’t want to use what I showed in this video. It’s hard to find in stores though so you might have to order online. Just make sure it says “Olia” on the label and not just Garnier because Olia is the one without the harsh chemicals. I hope this helps ☺️

      There's volume 10 developer in "activating lotions". It's really just volume 10 developer and a bunch of conditioners and renamed to *Activating Lotion* . It's funny how the activating lotions cost more than regular developer. I'm suspicious that it's just a marketing ploy to make more money and people are falling for it, lmao.

    You should put toner on damp hair.
    Shampoo only, towel dry and use the toner, wait 20 mins then rinse and condition...
    Shampoo after toner prematurely strips out the toner you applied, and toning with damp hair helps distribute more evenly

    • @ecolson6544
      @ecolson6544 5 лет назад +4

      This is a demi permanent haircolor. Not a toner. Directions do not call for wet hair. Wetness dilutes the develper

    • @TherealDanigirl
      @TherealDanigirl 4 года назад +1

      If you actually watched the video you would see it’s not a toner it’s a Demi permanent hair dye which merely coats the outside layer of the hair. If her hair was wet when applying it would have hardly changed the colour as there would have been a barrier
