Tip: buy your fall/winter fragrances during the spring/summer seasons... you'll get them cheaper, and you can just take a couple sprays and let them macerate until the colder seasons

I own the Porto Neroli and Woody Oud (and also TF Oud Wood) and both are amazing and super similar to the original
How’s Porto ? It smells like a moment at the beach. Can you get by wearing the oud for summer? Light sprays and layer with citrus ?

Of all the fragrances mentioned in the video, the only one I have is Detour Noir. I love it! When I wear it, I do get compliments. And I can't afford Layton. So, there's that...😢
I also have the same...I love it...but after some time the lemon note (like Vicks) becomes overwhelming...

It's so good! Leyden is also a nice leyton clone. Buuuuut The amount of closes out there that do it 1-9% better than another clone is getting costly and from an enthusiast point of view. It's quite exhausting. It's so subjective and I'm trying not to fall in the trap of this smells 5% closer than this one. Because it seems tiresome from a viewer standpoint.
These are really good but I guess I would just say don't chase all of the different clones. Get one and that one will do just fine. Lol. Sorry for the mini rant. Hahaha!! 🤣

Detour Noir is more than enough for me in this scent profile.
I am very careful not to fall in this rabbit hole. So thanks to be attentive.
And I am also very careful some of these middle eastern dupes/alternatives because some of them is out of my taste.
I sold Najdia, Qaed Al Fursan, 9pm... these for me are very synthetic.
A very good alternative for By the Fireplace = Camp Fire (Emir Factory Edition / Paris Corner). Camp Fire is closer to the OG than the Ameer Al Oudh Intense. 🙂
As for the the Tobacco sent, one of my favs is the Sweet Tobacco Spirits 18.21 Man Made (excellent quality & performane).

Since you're starting your perfumer journey, I'd enjoy watching you rate/review fragrances by specific perfumers. Alberto Morillas, Natalie Gracia-Cetto and Olivier Polge and some I find are super interesting just to name a few
I have a completely new perspective on it. I feel like I'm first discovering these scents again. I'm kind of going back through my whole collection and try and stuff out and noticing things.
It's really fascinating.

I've got Divin Asylum which lasts longer but i think i prefer the smell of Imperium :)
I bought Angel Share & KHAMRAH and quite frankly; I think that KHAMRAH beats Angel Share. There is also a fragrance called VENTANA that is a spot on clone of SAUVAGE! It lasts long and projects well and yes much less expensive. Fellas; my last recommendation is PORTRAIT OF A LADY. You’ll thank me later😉
The Bow tie Fragrance Guy and The Perfume Guy both recommend that men wear Frederic Malle’s Portrait of a Lady.
Ameer Al oud is good, but try raghba wood intense, it’s a much better fragrance and in my opinion is a closer interpretation to by the fireplace

I recently smelled Chanel Platinum Egoiste.. and wow, i love it... Have you smelled it? And more importantly, have you smelled the clone Armaf Legesi? Curious to know if Legesi is a legit clone

I think it's much better. Because of the warm vanilla and the tobacco. I think it's very similar to spice bomb extreme

Yeah, most of these houses just do clones. I'm definitely looking into getting some authentic Middle Eastern fragrances that are not so oud dominant. It's not meant to be a clone list. It's just some of the fragrances that I like to wear and I think they're really good for the money.
Clone's always good but I think there's so much on the market right now. It's getting kind of exhausting.
Especially since people are just releasing clones every other week and the new clown is 5% closer than the other one. It's just impossible to keep up with. Especially with the cost.

Oud For Glory is horrible to me 😷😷. I said I was gone give it another try in the winter time and see but it is not a summer fragrance at all.
Why does my ameer Al oud gave a green tint and everyone else's is a dark amber?

Just kidding.. I like it but I paid Brazilian price.. which was $50 but sold with profit by $56 so all good.. if I want it again one day I can buy there for $25

@@ParagonFragrances ekhm but this have tonka bean and is not so cool on summer... so must be sweet (at lest little bit) according fragrantica. In general, sweet perfumes are the domain of Arabs. It's will be some challenge to find something unless there's something not sweet from middle east.
