As per your suggestion, I took the cut off triangle and made a pencil pouch to go with the Hemingway iPad pouch. I zig zagged the inside raw edges as binding would have been too bulky. Two projects with very little waste-that’s a win-win!

i love this design! On the Hemingway pouch, the star of the show is the bias tape which makes the zipper stand out especially since the placement of it is angled at the top. this pouch is so much fun to make! i'm going to make a lot of these for the Women's Expo in November!
and yes! the NO#5 zipper rocks this pouch!

I finally see how you got the binding on the inside! That is amazing, it finishes the seams so nicely. I must order this pattern. Oh, another source of Zippers is "Zipper Valley" for those people who are looking for a source in Canada.

Serge the edges of that quilted strip you had leftover from you cut and use it as a handle!

OK, we collect the same fabric! I have a stash of Night Shade, don't know what I'm going to do with it. For now it will hang out next to my Allison Glass fabric shrine. And I'm starting the Still Room quilt! I need it to be done by June!

@@OffKilterCrafterIan Love all of your Hemingways! Made more than my share at Christmas for gifts, but the making continues! All of her patterns are just as good. The large Holland Pouch fits all of my notions beside my machine, even my best scissors, and then zips up so the area stays clean. It’s a fun make, also super versatile in what it can hold. A Dopp kit, thread holder, chargers, etc…Love the way she writes her patterns.:) Thanks for a fun video!

I am one of the few who is not a fan of minky, etc. (or the Costco blankets). They are made with filaments of plastic which are not good for the environment. Micro plastics are found now everywhere, including in the oceanic shellfish and freshwater fish that we eat; and the extremely small Nano plastics cross the placenta and are now in fact, found in unborn babies. Google it if you don't believe me! So, there's another reason NOT to use it!
Micro plastics are huge problem. I did some research on them for a job and couldn’t believe how much micro plastic was out there.
