    This was my first time experiencing the fishery in the Sea of Cortez, and it was such a blast!
    In this video, I did my best to cover all of the most essential terminal tackle for fishing throughout the Sea of Cortez. From cabrilla in the shallows, to open water yellowtail, to slinging small jigs for trigger fish, and even grouper fishing!
    Hopefully this video was helpful for some of you, and you were able to find some value out of it.
    If you have any other knowledge or advice for this fishery that I may not had touched base on, please leave it in the comments below!
    Thank you all for watching. Please Like the video and Subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already!

    Awesome help. Can you do a fifteen minute vid on your rod and reel set ups. You kind of hinted at it when you were going over the lines. What is the 7.1 reel that you’re using and what rod is it on? You’re Calico rig/setup, yellowtail and grouper setups.

      I will do that for sure as soon as I get a chance! Been meaning to do that over the last month or so, just haven’t had the time.
      But yes I will put together a video hopefully some time next week or the following! Thank you for reminding me!

    11:09 -- The Mustad extra strong trebles you mentioned earlier in the video were straightening out?! Holy crap 😳

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  Год назад +1

      So I didn’t actually bend out on the mustad extra storm trebels, but they can bend out against these fish!
      During a really good bite (100 fish day), from what I was told you can go through a handful of hooks or even break a jerkbait or 2 per day

    Ray, great content to help plan for the Tony Reyes trip. One fish that I had a blast catching on that trip were the Sierra's that we targeted on the last day. A simple crocodile spoon or anything silver with a short metal leader line got bit on every cast. Their teeth are sharp so use the metal leader or plan to donate a bunch lures.

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  Год назад

      Aaaahhh!!! See I knew I had to of missed something! Yeah crocodiles seemed to work the best on the Sierra day for us as well!
      Definitely wanna run a steal or titanium leader when targeting them, the do have very very sharp teeth! Small wahoo basically.
      Thank you for adding that in the comments, much appreciated brotha!👊

  • @DeeDeevanGogh
    @DeeDeevanGogh Год назад +2

    Dude you wasted your trip to SOC. I fish there for 4 months of every year going on 20 years. Why target crap fish when you can go after Marlin or Mahi Mahi. Troll with a 1pc Trolling Lure Octopus Soft Bait With Skirt Tail with a Ballyhoo on the trailer. THATS ALL YOU NEED FOOL lol

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  Год назад +1

      Yeah trolling just isn’t quite our style for those of us into this kind of fishing.
      We fish surface irons and jerkbaits for the grind and reward side of things.
      That and the visual style of fishing, just never gets old to me. But everyone has their own preferred style of fishing. If trolling is your preferred fishing, good for you man.

    • @DeeDeevanGogh
      @DeeDeevanGogh Год назад +1

      @@Dirty.Hookers Thanks for understanding. My last trip a couple months ago To the Sea Of Cortez I landed 3 Marlin and 16 Dorado total in 3 trips out in Feb. The other times I jigged a bit around Gordo Banks catching Grouper,Snapper, Needlefish, Triggerfish etc etc which was fun but nothing like surface trolling for Marlin and Dorado. They all breach when hooked and fight really well as I am sure you are aware. But you are correct...its what one prefers. There's no such thing as a bad way to fish, its all fun fun fun. I subscribed. Great channel!
