I've always loved G1 Optimus Prime and like this figure. But it is sold out and the prices charged on eBay are ridiculous. I'm happy keeping my £150 plus in my bank and watching this review.
Glad i've got them both... in the end they complement each other , absolutely stunning figures ... but my top fave is C01! totally nostalgic feelings ! we do need a missing link megatron now! and soundwave eh eh... one can dream....
I ended up ordering both versions of it, I got the C-01 Toy colour version because I prefer my Optimus Prime's to come with an Autobot symbol on both shoulders. But the Animation colour version looked too good and when Kapow Toys got more in stock the next day I ordered it too.
I’ll check when I get home but I’m sure they don’t have the groove. Nor does the jafcon one. This video is definitely the first I’ve seen of it or known about it. But then again I only have originals and this is the first re issue
I'm just not a fan of the animated series figures. Back in the day we'd not put the stickers on Starscream and swap out the canopy with Thundercracker's to make him look more authentic. That's just what we did that's what makes me feel nostalgic. Then stick a gold Zoids figure in there lol

They have this and other Transformers you can't get at Wal-Mart and stores at the comic and card store I go to. Ive got the GIJOE crossover figures from there and the next figure im getting is the white G2 looking Megatron and Tarn but I forget who makes that line of figures.
@@ToysareRuss I wasn't even sure what Prime was in that box until you opened that one they always have those slip covers or boxes hiding what the figure looks like on the inside.
TAKARA has done such a good job on this. Just like yourself, it blew me away. I love the painted decals, diecast and chrome and the articulation is a stroke of genius. I really hope we get more missing link figures. Great to see the comparisons Russ. Having not owned the original, I was intrigued to see the differences. Out of interest has Roller ever been silver before? What colour was the Diaclone version I wonder?

You can still get it on showz with my code and you won’t pay shipping or import charges. So it’s much less than 150

I can see a soundwave definitely. A megatron we can dream. But it’s takara so who knows

Thanks bud. Yes he’s been silver before. The first releases of Optimus with the metal plates and bloated parts had a silver roller.

There’s no point paying that much for a KO bud. You can get a legit one for less than that
