Honestly I like this style of video. Showing not only photographs but video of the before and than present is really cool! Maybe you should try researching the history of some known spots like this for future video's? It's nice to know the history of a once populated area.

What were y’all blurring in the freezer?
I grew up in Gary (moved out in mid 2000's in my late teens), and I remember going to many Steelheads games back in the day that were standing room only. I only learned recently that it was completely abandoned... So sad, man. That was nice very nice in it's day. At least they still have the Railcats stadium.

I used to live close to Gary. I went to a Bone Thuz-n-Harmony concert at the G center back in high school.
yo awesome video, it was dope to learn about the history of the place and seeing what it looks like in present day. Definitely creepy that the hall was cleared out and the smell was moved into the freezer.. Either way, Really cool stuff man, keep it up 💯
Was reading the electronic board when it said next opponent is Rockford. I’m from the Rockford area and I remember the Rockford Lightening… they played in the metro center downtown that was many years ago!!! The lightening left Rockford in the 90’s….wow talking about old times 😮😮😮
Well done. Interesting and sad to see the futile attempt to bring life to the town wasting away. The place where the stink was looks like a kitchen area so the smell might have been meat left behind to rot. I once made the mistake or opening a freezer in an abandoned farmhouse and I nearly passed out because it was filled will rotten meat.

I remember going here a few years ago when Obama was in town for a speech? I live like 30 mins away had no clue at all this place went down like this.. wow
I live in an indiana town that is 70 years older than Gary. Yet all the buildings are standing and in good repair filled with businesses. Maybe it is not the industrial opportunities involved but the race of people that take over after white flight.

Gary was done for when the white people took flight in the 70s. It has nothing to do with the Steel Mills. My grandparents lived in Miller and my grandma was a teacher at Emerson back in the 40s and 50s when Gary was a nice city. My father was jumped when he was 13 by 4 colored folks in a car while he was riding his bike on the day before the 4th of July. They put my father, who was a kid, in the hospital and almost killed him because he was white. Thank the Lord my Grandpa didn't find them cause he would've ended up in prison if he did. But my father recovered and my grandparents sold there house in Gary/Miller and moved to Crown Point Indiana. But there is this huge misconception that what caused Gary was the Steel Mills closing, which is such a joke, that no one wants to admit it was so called, white flight. Gary should be a lesson for all the other crime rampant cities like LA, New York, San Fran, etc etc etc. When crime gets horrible, civilized people leave, and you get whats left. This will be most cities in America in about 20 years. If you dont learn from the past you are bound to repeat it.
