Lately I’m obsessed with using Milani’s Baked Blushes for a soft, wash of color, rosy eye look. I use Berry Amore in my crease and the ICONIC Luminoso on my lids!
That Gemini two palette reminds me of a Rose Garden. Thank you for having the material and videos that you do for us to watch and learn from. You truly inspired me, so I went looking through my eyeshadow pallets after hearing your recommendation to look to see what we already have that we could try to pull a similar look together with. After going through my Profusion eyeshadow palette collection; I used the emeralds palette and the mauve palette to get the same look as you got from your Melt Eyeshadow palette. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and opinions and knowledge with all of us.
what are you, a mind reader? I was literally thinking in the last video how nice a rosy pallette roundup would be!!🥰 also, I think it would be a fun idea if you went through pallette options based on color scheme. like, best green pallets with mini options (elf bite size), mid size (Huda, colour pop) and full size (melt cosmetics) options. you could do it for berries, warm neutrals, smoky, etc ✨
YES - love the idea of expanding on this. And I probably could have looked through my collection more deeply for other rose options, but I just felt a sense of urgency to specifically talk about these two! :D thanks for the ideas!!
I saw the one from Patty Alonso and I’m watching this one. Also intend to watch Morgan Turner’s rosy palette round up. I think they have this pink thing pretty bad! LOLs!
Hi Emily, during the Sephora sale my sis and I saw the Patrick Ta palette in the store and we both said: Emily would like this one! I didn’t get it because I hadn’t seen you review it yet but now I have it in my cart 😁 I’m so excited to see which palette wins! Love the glam look in this video, you are GORGEOUS 😍
I love ❤️ the look you created. Adore that recently you are smoking out your shades a little higher towards your brows because you have an outstanding space to work with your eye shape. Adore you Emily 😍
I love the look you created, Emily! Those shadows are beautiful! I believe the problem you experienced with the green shadows was that you blended them with the rosy/red shadows. Red and green are complementary colors and will always make brown when combined. Perhaps try a look using only the greens alone, or along with shadows from their first palette… you might get a much truer green by not mixing with a red toned shadow. I hope that is helpful! 👍🏼😊
I think you may be right, but my problem is that you are limited by that. You have to keep the green and rose separate. So in effect you have a green palette with just three colors. But your suggestion is a good one, if you want that nice nuanced green eye.
@@martiwillis1848 Very true... so sad... red and green... so beautiful side by side, such lovely colors separately... but mix them together and you get a muddy brown. Sigh. 😊
Love that the Gemini II basically has two color stories that work together, very nice! Can't wait to see your sigma review, mod! All the Rosie's! 😄👍💕💐🌹🥀

Its creamy and controllable just like their regular concealer. I add a few drops to my lids, work it in with the same brush I use with regular concealer and then I seal it with a light eyeshadow. I promise you any color you use will show up just like it's supposed to.
Em. I love your videos. Have for almost 10 years now. You are Mom goals for sure! I have a video idea that I would love to see. A Milani shadow primer showdown where you put Milani on 1 eye and another primer on the other. Then do the same look and see which eye holds up best. Then the next day (or whenever) the same thing but a new contender against Milani until you've done about 5 or so. That way we can see live comparison of your favorite primer! 😍 💗💗
I prefer the Gemini 2. It goes more cool rosy then warm rosy although I do wish there were a couple lighter shimmers though. With the Patrick Ta palette the creams creased horribly on me and the shimmers did too. I also got awful glitter fall out through the day.
Absolutely stunning. Is such a grungy look. I thought for sure you used some of those greens, but I was surprised when I saw it was all the Reds and burgundy's. So beautiful! You should pick up one of those sponges in a tin that you can clean your brush with, and even Sigma has a fantastic one that's a black pad with little nibbies on it that cleans your brushes really well too.❤❤
Hey Em, I've thought it a hundred times watching your videos so I'm just gonna say it, you have such a unique eye shape, I'm a MUA and I like to sketch portraits so I guess I see shapes as well as the facial feature and yours are so unique and beautiful! I just had to finally say it 👁️👁️😍
One other thing, I took your advice and bought the Bobbi Brown Base Face in the Sephora sale and I'm in love!!!!! So, thank you for always recommending it!
I think Patrick ta has more shades similar to the naked cherry and ABH soft glam shades. But the melt cosmetics Gemini 2 has more unique variety in rosy tones that i haven't seen. I've been looking for a new "rosy" palette with more beautiful matte shades but they all turn pinky or purple or rustic in my opinion. I do agree any the green palette but I think I'm still going to grab it since it's just so beautiful!
yes I see what you mean about Patrick ta & Naked and Soft Glam! Just comparing to Melt because they are 2 "new on the market" rosy palettes. Not thinking they're dupes whatsoever, just 2 that people with similar tastes to me might be considering right now. And yeah, Melt is still gorgeous!! Hope you enjoy it!
@@emilynoel83 yes that's true! I'm looking for my perfect rosy tones and just passed by the Emily wants and loved all the shades in it and want to pick it up! I just prefer something more travel friendly but with options like plums, rose tones and pops of color! It's hard to get it all in in one small palette lol
Thanks for comparing all the rosey tone palettes, I'm more of a neutral palette person, but want to add some color. I like how the Gemini two palette has the subdued rosey colors with the earthy greens as well. Beautiful eye looks as always.
I picked up the Gemini 2 palette a couple of days ago and it's beautiful. I LOVE grungy, deep shades and it is perfect. I'm looking forward to seeing how it makes my hazel eyes look. Great video Emily. 😊
This may be the best makeup tutorial/ comparison video I have ever watched. If I was on the fence as to which palette to choose from, you would have easily sold me both. I love your sophistication in describing the colors, your application process and the overall input you have on the two palettes. Hope you break 1M by the end of the year! ❤️ big fan!

I bought for $3 at Five Below a messy coarse sponge in a metal pan to wipe off makeup brushes. Wow it works great and no wet brush. Great for between cleanings when you need a clean eyeshadow brush to change colors
funny enough, i like the look of the greens in the pan, as i feel it really adds to the whole rose vibe. but i would NEVER want to use green on my eyes lol. i actually think the “greens” turned out beautiful on your eyes!! Legit makes me want that palette now cuz i’d actually use all the shades :0
Hi Emily, I'm so excited and happy that you decided to do this video! Thank you so much. I don't have either of these palettes so I'm curious about your thoughts and how the look turns out!
If anybody has the Pat McGrath celestial odyssey palette, the one from this past holiday season, I would highly recommend digging into that one and cranking out some rosy looks with some unexpected pops of teal or light green.
I think that Melt palette will be gorgeous on my dark brown skin. The greens will give me a great neutralizing deep. ”I’m here for it!” I’m going to get that one. Thanks.
I haven't worn makeup since the pandemic took effect and I watch all of your videos. I love your Instagram channel too. While I watched today it dawned on me that I might have to learn everything all over again. An idea for a video popped into my head. What if you pick all your favourite makeup items for a Great Glam look with the aim of using the absolute bare minimum amount of each and every product in order to achieve a Glam look? I think the challenge would be really unique and different from anything I've seen on RUclips. Are you game?
I bought both and when I searched them on my arm I thought OH NO they’re the same colors…but when applied I was able to see the differences. Patrick Ta’s shimmers atop Melts mattes is very pretty. I’m glad I got both.
I can’t stay away from Rosy palettes!! There is something about them. I should have gotten the Patrick Ta palette during the Sephora sale but I think I just need to bite the bullet! Thank you for this video and your content. Always on point! 🥰

Hi Luanne! sending love & hugs back to you! :) Glad I could be of help on the various differences between these two! Naughty from Huda is another fun one!
I love Melt and will definitely be getting the Gemini 2 but I didn't know Patrick Ta had a new palette! I may need both once I go back and watch your last video!
Speaking of rosey palettes I can’t decide between the Natasha denona retro palette or the new sigma new mod pallete! Someone please help me decide, also loving the new Patrick Ta pallete so stunning
Hi Emily. I love dusty rose, pinkish, and mauve tones as well. How would the Patrick palette compare to the Too Faced Teddy palettes you recommended as a good dusty rose palette? I appreciate your opinion. I just started dealing with melasma. Your video on how to cover it gave great tips. It’s getting so bad that it’s embarrassing. How did you get rid of yours? Thanks for your great videos.
I realize it’s not technically a rose palette but there are some rosy shades in the soft glam palette from ABH. There’s that light mount pink there’s a beautiful cream shade there’s a peachy shade called orange sodas it could be reminiscent of a peach colored rose and there’s the two shimmery those shades one just a little bit deeper than the other. So if you have that pallet and you’re looking for some Rosie looks take another peek at Soft Glam.
Haven’t watched yet but a HUGE thumbs up! I’ve been waiting on this one. Rosy palettes are some of my favorites! Thanks for another great video Em, I really appreciate you. How is your dad doing lately? Hope he’s in good health.
I got both palettes during the Sephora sale. I am returning the Patrick Ta palette, which I know is shocking to many people. It just didn't grab me. It wasn't impressive. I am keeping the Gemini II one.

Ohhhh, I am intrigued by the Melt "Gemini II" palette. While I like rosy & plum shades, I also like a little complementary variety, such as those greens. I feel more drawn to that palette than the Patrick Ta rosy color story. Thanks for sharing, Emily!! 🎨🌹Edited: Aw, bummer about the greens being murky!
The greens aren't what I would call, murky. They are more grungy being they are that deep, olivey, tone. That's just my opinion, of course, after playing with it for a few days. 😊
PLEASE review and compare the new KOSAS FOUNDATION and CONCEALER and compare/contrast and/or rank it against the new yummy danessa myricks foundation (and primer) and the estee lauder futurist hydra rescue moisturizing foundation. I'm begging for your help bc you have maintained your integrity to tell the truth, I still marvel while also sharing over and over the chart you made in the past ranking top foundations and level of coverage, etc. We also have the same skin type and your winter skin color matches my every day one so i rely on you as my shade match as well.
Hi I think the melt palette will look amazing on medium/olive to deeper skin tones - that saturation of pigment will show up really well. Also the deeper/murkier greens will show up more of their true tone on darker skin - dark shades just look dark on lighter skin and lose the difference in shade. The Patrick Ta looks like a fairly standard warm rose colour scheme and although pretty isn't all that unique in the myriad of palettes available. Neither are aimed at my ultra pale/cool toned skin and that's fine - there should be options out there for all skin tones. On deep skin too light shades just look light (or sometimes chalky) and similarly the difference in tone is lost. I'm not sure it's a fair comparison, as they're aimed at a different consumer in my humble opinion. The only "rosy" palette i've bought in the last few months is the Huda rose quartz, which is far prettier on my skin tone than either of these two - I doubt it's a big favourite of those with deep skin lol. Both of these palettes would make my eyes look red/bloodshot and probably like I had been hit in the eye/bruised. The shades and undertones are all wrong for me. I think our overall skin tone and even more importantly undertone, can make a huge difference in how any eyeshadow looks on us. Best wishes.
I'm a Rosy Tone gal so I appreciate this video soo much. You have the most incredible eyes and your eye looks I strive to achieve! I think I need the Patrick Ta palette and it's in my cart! Thank you for doing this! Oh, your kids all looked so adorable in your Easter photos! Have a great day! ~Lori ❤️💄

Thanks for this video. Also Sigma has a beautiful new palette that is similar called MOD.
Gorgeous!!! But I agree, I love the patrick ta palette! I just told my husband I want that for Christmas 🎄
emily I'm 54 and now have hooded eyes and find it awful difficult to do my eye make up I've always applied my eye make up the wat you do yours that was what drew me to you in the first place would you ever be able to do an eye look for hooded eyes sorry to be a pain xx
Your tutorials are the best on you tube!❤
Ohhhh, I am intrigued by the Melt "Gemini II" palette. While I like rosy & plum shades, I also like a little complementary variety, such as those greens. I feel more drawn to that palette than the Patrick Ta rosy color story. Thanks for sharing, Emily!! 🎨🌹Edited: Aw, bummer about the greens being murky!
The greens aren't what I would call, murky. They are more grungy being they are that deep, olivey, tone. That's just my opinion, of course, after playing with it for a few days. 😊
@@maggieparmley9350 thanks for letting me know! I may still try it. 🥰
These palettes are very beautiful.
What a beautiful look! I do agree, those greens would hold me back from that pallette as well ..great review as always, Em! 💙🤗💙 Love you too! :-)
~Lori ❤️💄
you are so kind! thank you Lori!!
I'm really thirsting for a cool-friendly mauve to plum palette with some greens that show up. Does it exist? Or I'd even mix two palettes to create the look... or singles? Does anyone even use single shadows anymore? Curious!
Too funny I just used both of these palettes for my eye look today!
I was tempted by both of those pallets but I got the Natasha Denona retro and I thought I didn't need either one of those.
You look sooo beautiful!!!!
You didn't use the green in the Gemini 2 but mentioned you would. :(
Hallo, I almost bought the Patrick Ta palette during the Sephora sale ended up getting Other ones but on my radar . The Gemini I and II just do not have my interest. Do love the looks you did with Patrick Ta and Gemini II.
Hi Emily - thank you for sharing your review. You are always so helpful 😊. I got the Gemini bundle and I really enjoy them together. Today I’m wearing the rosy tones of 2 with a spotlight of goals from 1 in the center and Old rose is a beautiful lipstick to tie everything together. Blessings, Cynthia
oh I bet that's gorgeous, Cynthia!! thanks for sharing!
So Beautiful Emily ♥️
aw thank you! :)
Did your patrick ta palette mold?
Also, after seeing this I immediately ordered one from beauty bay lol😍
The look is good
But Em, do you like the Patrick Ta palette? I wasn't sure. 😝 Ha ha
