A lot of people seem to ignore that The Citadel was actually built by the Republic, all the horrors inside the prison were built by the jedi and their allies to capture any rogue jedi (looking at you Pong Krell) The Separatists just captured it and many people seem to think they built it but no! The fact that they managed to capture it is just another show of Republic incompetence: their negligence of the outer rim came back to haunt them
That should have been a mask red flag that the CIS was able to use this secret hyperspace route while the Jedi who knew about the coordinates of the hyperspace route where given to one man after the mission.
Finally after so long, a video on my fourth favorite arc. :) Also, 9:08-9:11: I feel like you could say that about any battle during the Clone Wars, but you could also argue the opposite as they did matter because people's lives were saved and somewhere inspired by these events to keep fighting when the Empire came to town.
Such a good arc. I feel like echos death would have been a better end to his character rather then bringing him back. I’m probably bias because I don’t really like Bad Batch but the tragedy of domino squad hit harder with him gone.
You know the second season of bad batch was...overall so fucking boring. The first season had a couple wasted episodes but holy crap did all but 3 episodes in season 2 suck. Why is the writing so meh
I wasn’t against Echo coming back. I just wish Dave Filoni and George Lucas were allowed to finish the Clone Wars, without removing and adding anything as they did when we got what was labeled as Season 7 and never got Season 8. Rex wasn’t supposed to even guess Echo was alive until he hears his code being transmitted, let alone have a fanfic-y portrait of him with his buddies, which included Echo and Fives.
@@teleportedbreadfor3daysyee. Then there's the issue of them separating one character into two characters (the sisters from the Ahsoka Underground saga). Only change I kinda understood was removing the Padmé pinup from the Bad Batch's ship.
@@AngelDust6969 I thought that was still there. No matter, I’m just glad I’m not the only one who has an issue with Season 7 being a broken promise in actuality.
I remember that his arc aired during a time where a certain MMO was around, Lego Universe. I instantly noticed major similarities in the disign of Lola Sayu and one of the games playeable areas, Crux Prime. Both shared a similar color palette, for example and are fractured, rutted, gloomy, lifeless worlds. That the Nexus Route shares its name with the organisation the player supports, the Nexus Force, did only add to it.
Jedi and Republic: ah it's a good thing we secured the nexus route now we can ensure the CIS doesn't get it by giving it to our Chancellor Palpatine: thanks *procedes to Give Grevious the route just before the battle of Corasant* Jedi: how did Grevious get this fleet here and how is he attacking? Palpatine: *whistles to try to not pin the blame on him*
Also idk if you noticed or remembered but there were 4 star destroyers sent there and only 3 are seen leaving. It’s likely an animation error as no destroyed ships are seen from the republic but there’s also a good chance an entire ship was lost.
😑 . . . Honestly, I think Palpatine did give Yoda the other half of the information; we can only guess what happened next & such. Extremely high chance that Palpatine technically lied to Yoda, tweaking the coordinates just enough to give the impression that the route has changed so much that its no longer traversable in the foreseeable future…
A fine incident... but its value got lessened when Multiversal High Command reminded us that, no, this is not how Jedi Master should have perished... *they reminded us that he was slain by anti-Jedi Stormtrooper units after Order 66.* Ever since then, we suspected that we were somehow diverted to a different universe separate from what will eventually be designated as the Legends-verse.
My favorite part of this arc was the random Lord of The Rings reference with the Jedi funeral. Falls of Rauros, but make it LAVA!!! Dave Filoni, you massive, fantastic nerd
Incorrect. If you watch the episode, the Republic came with 4 Venators, but left with only 3. One Venator was bombed and destroyed during the battle. That means tens of thousands of Clones died just to rescue a handful of troops.
I highly doubt it as there would have been debris from the ship. It's most likely an animation error but if you want my headcanon, there was one Jedi on each ship for safety reasons. Once Plo left in his gunship, that Venator left for other duties since the plan was to leave as soon as the survivors were rescued and not stick around, so having everyone on the same ship was safe.
Geetsly, i gotta ask, where do you even get your info from? There is just so much source material out there and so much from different places. Do you literally scoure it all for each vid? How do you do it? Really?
This is a good summary of the arc, but I was really disappointed you only talked about the space battle for two minutes. And out of that time, something like thirty seconds was spent briefly mentioning the actual tactics employed.

was it incompetence or was it the machinations of the sith?
The planet Lola Seyu: Dont worry we are still having half a planet
This was one of my favorite story arcs, thanks Geetslys!
NGL Admiral Coburn was one of the most underrated characters in TCW. Wish he was in more episodes.

I wonder what other clones/jedi who were being held there, if any were, thought once they realized they were not the ones being rescued

The Clone Wars tells well the most important message in all of Star Wars: The pointlessness of war.

it was most likely an animation error even the lucrehulk battleship should be there but wasnt seen in every shot
I loved and enjoyed this story arc a lot from the Clone Wars series
The citadel is one of my all time favorite Arc in the clone wars l watch it all the time 😊
Question: Did Ahsoka ever regret rescuing Tarkin?
Sir the prisoners escaped. Show that droid what happens when we use that word!

Droid K2-B4; named in honor of the great Kobe Bryant. Even rocks a purple and old paint job.. ~rip~

At least it was a good way for that jedi to go in that particular episode. Although the accent is cool.
7:48 Didn't the Republic lose a Venator? There were 4 when they arrived, and 3 when they left, right?
The fourth could have jumped into hyperspace and fled
"A costly battle that ultimately meant absolutely nothing."
You mean the entire war? 😶

This mission was a fucking debacle. At least something was done right here.
I would like to see a video about the Delta-7B Aethersprite-class Jedi Starfighter. Possibly it is my favorite spacecraft in Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Amazing arc
I think it was obvious that the use of the Nexus Route coordinates was how Grevious attacked Coruscant. We knew the moment Tarkin left
That arc made me realize how often Anakin gets electrocuted in the clone wars.
Geetsly, i gotta ask, where do you even get your info from? There is just so much source material out there and so much from different places. Do you literally scoure it all for each vid? How do you do it? Really?
Thanks for the video
Great video
Did the republic not use the route for the outerrim sieges ?
Lola Sayu looks like that because of the great galactic war from SWTOR
theres aweird cut at the beginning
Nice episode.

So like the entire clone war, then?
