@@casteanpreswyn7528 Pathfinder 1st Edtion is better than 3.5e. Helps that Pathfinder 1e is just an updated 3.5e with some of the clunk fixed and other stuff added even to the base classes that are now core features. Like sorcerer bloodlines.

DDO, My most favorite MMO over the last 23 years starting with Meridian 59. Star Wars Galaxies was a close 2nd. Everything else since has not been as fun to play (and that’s with logging a lot of hours into all those other MMOs).
I usually watch your worst MMO series and don't catch streams or stream replays. So I haven't seen the pet cam before. It is vitally important that you tell that cat I love them.
I feel like this game would be amazing if they made a DDO2 with a modern graphics engine and interface. The way it plays it unique and is still fun to this day. However the engine is beyond old. For whatever reason they seem to have no interest in updating the game to the modern era.
Its both cost and resource prohibitive to update an old, failing engine beyond the visual updates that they've already made over the years. SSG is a pretty small studio that is still maintaining and producing content for two separate MMOs. Dulkh4n saying "$$$" isn't necessarily wrong, but its laughable to think that it's being done out of greed. They just can't afford that kind of investment, nor can they afford downtime that prevents them from producing content for their primary cashflow. Its also important to realize that DDO is based off of 3.5e rules, which made the game fairly niche to begin with, and has lost most of its cultural relevance by this point. The only way that a DDO 2 would be popular enough to be worth investing in, is if it were updated to use 5e rules. Realistically, acquiring the licensing to use the official D&D branding and D&D copyrighted materials in a new game that uses the 5e rules (or the One D&D rules that are slated to release later this year) would be difficult considering the state of the company. I've played DDO off and on over the last 12 years or so. I absolutely adore the game for so many reasons. A new engine, with modern graphics, a stable foundation, and reliable servers sounds like a dream, but there are so many reasons that it wouldn't be feasible, even if some rich investors swooped in with a blank check and WoTC signed an agreement to let them make a new game. Bare minimum, a modern day DDO remake, even one made by the same team, would inherently be a drastically different game.
I don't even like Power Rangers in any sense, but I would watch the bad movie Josh was talking about because he seems like someone who would be awesome to hang out with in general.
In modern DnD isn't there a druid circle that let's them shapeshift as a bonus action? i do believe there is. And they can choose higher challenge beasts they are able to transform into.
I really hope you kept playing DDO at least until your first reincarnation 😉 you've only just scratched the surface so far. Quests get so much more creative later on.

The writers were using 3.5 because that's what they grew up with. In 3.5 druids can wild shape into anything.
