Are you supposed to grease the new Axles before inserting them back? I just used your video today to do this and everyone is telling me now that I should have put grease over the new axles
@@nikgarza2649 grease over the seals is fine. I think i mentioned that in this video. Other than that i would be careful not to get grease on the threads on each end of the axles or those parts will strip.
Thanks Justin , question I see replacing seals and bearings but why the axle if there is no issue or is it recommended to replace all? Or was this a demonstration for many issues? Thanks
@@jimlong527 thanks for watching and great question! Mainly i did it for demonstration as its a really common issue i have seen on carts the threading on the axles usually wear out. Especially when most of us doing upgrades add much larger wheels and tires onto carts. That pits more strain on the hubs and that in turn strips these axles fairly easily. The threading on this cart on the axle was getting ready to go anyways so i likely would have had to do it soon. Thanks for watching! @@jimlong527 yea shwew its hot this year in south FL! I would start with doing a fluid change. I have a video on that too. Use the fluids i mention and see if that helps. If not jack the cart up and use some jack stands. If you can have someone gently press throttle and see if it is coming from differential or wheel area. Both can have the high pitch whine. If its from differential area likely for me its been input shaft bearings. If wheel area its wheel bearings. When you go to figure it out let me know im always happy to help when i can!

Every electric wrench finishes at different torque. Mine does pretty good. It definitely doesn’t hurt to check it with a wrench but i wouldn’t go crazy on it. You can also check by wrenching it a few times with the electric wrench while not pressing the power button.
have a 2010 rxv that is making a passenger side clanking sound when driving that aligns to the rpms. is that a sign of bearings? seams to be worse with weight.
That definitely sounds like it could be bearings. If you can jack it up off the ground and get someone to give it just a small press on the accelerator pedal. See if you can isolate if it is coming from the wheel area or the differential. If its the wheel area then this video may help if not you may need to check the gears/bearings inside the differential. I have another video about the input shaft and i had an issue on this cart on those bearings.
Hey Ken, Great point that I definitely missed! I forgot to mention that these closed bearings are pre-packed with greased though. If we were working with open bearings (no casing), we would definitely want to pack them.

Forgot the most important item, Grease the Bearing! Otherwise you'll be replacing them again in the not to distant future.
