Wow, great idea. I have an LMF and have honestly thought hard about how to add some survival stuff to it. I will totally do it like you did, thanks for sharing.
@bladeking2013 Thanks for the suggestion and for watching. I have considered the use of the paracord as a shoulder strap, however I have stuck with the nylon strap - a wider strap - due to the weight of the knife and pouch. It is more comfortable for extended carry situations.
@davepartovi Thanks for the comment. It makes a nice minimalist type kit made out of some spare survival items I had. Currently working on some other knife / survival kit ideas. Thanks for watching.
@llcooljay18 Thanks for the comment and for watching. As far as the paracord in the kit goes, It's actually about 12 feet. However, I re-laced my hiking boots with 550 paracord at about 4 feet each giving me a total of 20 feet. Look, I understand the importance of paracord, but this kit is meant to be a minimalist kit and and I think you over value the significance of paracord, it is possible to survive without paracord despite your feelings that you can't do much with even 15 feet.
@EtowahEagle1 Thanks for the comment. The extra space it takes up is worth it as the aqua pouch will be more durable and easier to filter water in than a condom.
@SurvivalNewsVideo I believe that the mirror was part of a small survival kit that I purchased from bepreparedtosurvive. I ended up splitting up the kit to add to other kits.
One thing I did was I left the cardboard shell that comes inside the cocoon to provide some type of fire starting material. Helps keep the shape of the cocoon and doesn't take up any space at all. All my stuff fits nicely inside the cardboard.
Like this video. Suggestion for the future: label your videos with a sub-title instead of just "Part 1" or "Part 2". In this case, maybe: "Part 1- basic set-up" and "Part 2- contents". That will allow viewers to really pick up where they want to watch. (I was most interested in contents and skipped Part 1). THANKS!!!
i think its perfect..all i would try to do is change the versions of some of the items, to be smaller..so i could smash in a small emergency blanket, and a small emergency tarp/shelter cover (ive seen some good 8 gram versions..olive drab..the paracord is perfect..)and maybe possibly stuff a one man micro-fiber sling-hammock in it(seen one that like 400 bucks but is like 2 inches folded and weighs about 15 grams).plus your water pura tabs, and maybe a purification straw...im gunna get one set up
the shoulder strap is a tool...as another belt, a way to hang things from a tree.. as a tourniquet....you can tell who has really been out in the wild etc...by their comments..someone that has spent times..and I am talking weeks..sees an item and knows in seconds what it can be used for.. those that haven't see nothing....
Hi, add some safety pins and waterpurifications tabs. I recomend to add also a compass device which can be attach with your carabine and a ceramic rod knife sharpener. Please check some high rated altoids tins to inspire you for more ideas.
It's a good kit but when you run out of water purification tablets then what, i suggest putting some tin foil in there so you can boil water in it. great vid
Great looking kit... love the black on black! Good choice of knife also.

That's a new idea to me! Great idea and video.
Nice looking pouch. I think I'll get a couple to add to my Maxpedition 12 x 5 water bottle carrier.

Love that setup. I would add a folded piece of foil to boil water or cook food.
@habaz72 Thanks for the comment and for watching. Good luck with your setup!

solid system you have there.
@bladeking2013 Thanks for you suggestion and your persistence. However, I think I will keep my current set up with the NYLON strap.

like your kit
Awesome setup, I think I may attach something like this to a machete and keep a neck knife like a mora or becker. Really got me thinking!
@jedidraco89 Thanks for the comment and you are more than welcome to copy!
@mpeel32ia thats why i said BRAIDED strap, you can make one just as wide
Great Kit I would replace the multitool with more fire materials if I were you.
AWESOME!
@mpeel32ia another idea could be to make a actual strap out of para cord that is braided --- just an idea.
@kkelly851 Thanks for watching.
