Note: I did forget to increase the price of flour, so the peasants were probably buying that instead of Rutabagas. This isn't entirely negative, since they'll be happier eating that, however selling flour for only four gold is much too cheap, so definitely wasn't optimum.
great game. My first playthrough ended in chaos where my peasants started killing each others based on black magic rumor and then my neighbour said that I am coward so I died in sadness :D
28:22 oh wow I feel so dumb haha I've done 4 playthroughs where I struggled with food every time, for some reason I thought the fertile areas was the ONLY place you could place your farms. Saved me a lot of heartache with just that part haha.
I always hated Kaiden and found him very annoying. Maybe I just didn't get to know him well enough though, as even after four full playthroughs of the series, he never made it past the first game :D
@@PraetorianHiJynx Kaidan's character improves significantly with the sequels, even more so than Ashley's. With the exception of the forced conflicts between him and Shepard as dictated by the main plot (which happens regardless of who survived), I really like the way things develop with Kaidan by the end. His romance also leads to some really sweet moments, especially during the Citadel DLC. I dunno, over the years I've gained a real appreciation for the Canadian lieutenant, to the point I usually save him on subsequent playthroughs. Buuuut if you personally hate him, maybe you give that name to the village idiot, or something to that effect hahaha.
You can tell your Lords to eat and drink when they get low. Click on them and then the symbol above their stats. Will only appear when they are low/critical.
I cover this later in the series, however my point is that you can't simply tell your lord to eat, drink, or sleep whenever you want. You can only tell them to prioritize an action they already intend to do (so basically, once that need gets low, as you mentioned).
The warehouses in the beginning for more builders is working out pretty well with 5 makha prisoners on night one?, and hopefully save the queen on day 3 after some fleshwolf hunts, and a good deal for 12 flour a day at about 10 gp each, and possibly a way of getting more gaurds with freeing the prisoners, and beating back the horde, lol?
I looked up this video because I felt that the economics felt too unbalanced, and that the AI seemed to develop so much faster than I did... glad it's not just me. :D
Enjoying series, lot of nuance in the details of economy how things set at start, quiet a few of improvement prob needed, but seems cozy until the wolves or hordes attack, some seems unbalanced but yeah Horde seems best turned off atm. Loving the art of the game and the silly stories that come about due to actions and events. 👍 It’s’ “Guth ram” not “goot tram” btw 😮
I've always seen it pronounced as "goot-trum" despite the "th." And in another series viewers got in a debate about this, with many also agreeing that it's pronounced that way. But I'm getting this entirely from other people, so they could be wrong.
If no other games release soon that I'm not aware of and I don't encounter any other unfortunate issues, then perhaps after we finish this series. I had intended to cover it on launch day, but I had to go out of town that weekend prior unexpectedly. Thus when I got back I decided to wrap up that Sins of a Solar Empire series first. The day after finishing that series, I got this game in my email. So I've been playing this and had planned for this episode to release on Saturday, but experienced several technical issues and now it's starting several days late. The schedule has unfortunately been quite messed up these last few weeks.
Make sure to have several rye farms, and it also helps to make flavored ale for your lords and save the beer for your residents, as ale doesn't use rye. But one of the best ways to ensure you have enough good food is to get pigs, as you can feed them those nasty rutabagas and get meat from them.
I think it got toned down before, or shortly after release, my normal at start is 2 or 3 on a good day, though if you jave nabours whoes villages got raided recently it will likely go up to 4 or 5 for a few days

Seen people giving your shyt for posting this on the steam forum. Hope you ignore those dumb A$$es_.

I've had some...interesting...endings as well :D
Nice little episode, cannot wait to see the rest of the series!
Hope you enjoy the series :)

Saved me a lot of heartache with just that part haha.
Yeah you can place the farms anywhere, it's just best to use the fertile areas for the important crops to maximize efficiency.
If your culture is called Kaiden, I'd love to see a future character named Alenko, in reference to the Mass Effect companion :D

Perhaps I never gave him a fair shot. If I ever play the series again, maybe I'll save him instead of Ashley for once lol
Funny, my youngest son is Named Kaiden and spelled the same
I haven't been this excited about any game in a while! I'll keep my eye on this.
I dislike the prefabs. Everything is limited.
I've been enjoying it quite a bit thus far :)
satisfactory? kenshi. 2 amazing games

Yeah the warehouses can be quite useful for the additional builders, as well as to reduce walking time.
do you become emperor in this series? im looking to see a proper playthroug with that goal in mind :)
No I don't go that far. I do build up an empire with several vassals and friends, but I don't become the emperor.
@@PraetorianHiJynx ah i see, i wil still see how this series goes but i had hoped to se the proper end :)

Yeah the balance is certainly off, though they've been improving it in the recent patches.
@@PraetorianHiJynx Yeah, it feels a lot better now. My current kingdom is thriving. :)

Oh, this looks pretty sweet. Thanks.
:)
Love to see a Medieval Dynasty co-op serie 😁
Jynx really wanted to do the series, but our schedule has been messed up these last couple of weeks due to several issues.
I got the game because of Jynx xD but sadly I don't have a second PS5 for my gf to play with xb
Just so you know @Prayrorian , you pronounce name of character Aslaug, but you spelled Asluag. No worries, thanks for nice video again
Yeah I fix it in a later episode, just wasn't paying attention when I wrote it lol
When are you going to play Sphere of Influence?

I have a problem I play this game at maximum spped and everything is good until I have too much people, not enough food :D

2:20 and what worse? Is that they don't even pay taxes!
Lol, unfortunately none of our lords pay any taxes :D
i did the same start as you but my ragnar is 30!
I try to make my king a bit younger now, since 50 comes quite quick and once a character is elderly their skills fall rapidly.
@@PraetorianHiJynx no what i mean is i picked identical stats to ragnar but mine is 2 years older i dont know hwy
To me the game feels more like CK3 for beginners.
I think it's more like Rimworld than CK3
😂 bros secretly british 😂 we pronounce shire as Shur, we say Yorkshur not Yorkshire 😂
Yeah I play a lot of strategy games as England/Britain, so I've learned the "correct" way to say certain words in those series from the comments lol

Episode 2 is up now :)
how come your getting like 8 migrants a time the most i ever get is like 3/4
I think it got toned down before, or shortly after release, my normal at start is 2 or 3 on a good day, though if you jave nabours whoes villages got raided recently it will likely go up to 4 or 5 for a few days
As mentioned above, it seems this was adjusted in one of the recent patches.

2 mins in, no face cam and you speak like an adult. Both wins in my book.
So hard to find good youtube gaming channel anymore. i am so very picky..
Yeah I'm not a fan of the face cams either
