  • We join a 2 car Southeastern Class 466 for a cab ride from Sittingboune to Sheerness. After calling at 2 stations on the mainland, we cross the Kingsferry lifting bridge, where we call at one intermediate station on the Isle of Sheppy before ending our journey at the town of Sheerness.
Narration is also included giving an insight to the history of the line.

The branch line you reference at 17.15 in fact served the jetty at Rushenden known locally as the Coalwasher, plus industries including a coal merchant and the Potteries. The Queenborough Pier branch came off after Queenborough. I think that might be its original line visible at 20.11.

I live near this line but never travelled on it. Whilst I appreciate the amount of effort, thought and research put in to the creation and narration on this video, I am disappointed that the footage is CGI. This fact does not appear to be mentioned at all in the description.

With the comments on here and on other forums, didn't realise how much people have missed the cab ride videos! Well that has given me a boost to carry on with the High Speed 1 video.
The script is underway which will then be sent for editing, and then I'll be doing the recording. Compared to MSTS, the train's have 3D cabs, so I'm experimenting with some new camera angles around the cab and outside the train too.
A future project is now to move some previously covered routes on MSTS into Railworks versions. This will include updated scripts and once uploaded I'll delete the MSTS version.
Thank you for your continuing support guys :)

      *****
Script 99% complete between Faversham and Gravesend. That will be sent for editing this week, then Gravesend - St Pancras will be typed up. Not quite easy to compile this one, and yet to edit the cab cam and do recordings.
There is likely to be an add-on video about the 395's, as there is too much to put into the cab ride about them

Just a static model unfortunately. I would have liked to included a video of it lifted. I was tempted to go down and film the real thing myself just for that, though being over 100 miles away only to find it not lifting that day, put me off the idea.

brandon taylor yep it lifts every time a ship passes beneath which was a real pain when it was the only bridge for both cars and trains. there's a famous scene from Frank Spencer where he gets stuck on the bridge as it lifts him and his car
