As of today, palladium spot market price, 2495.00 us dollars per ounce. When I first started micro scrapping I like many others only went for the obvious non ferrous, copper and aluminum. Couldn't even guess how many boards went to the landfill with hidden precious rare earth metals. Not now, EVERYTHING gets removed, stored in its own individual container. Thanks
I would have been a multimillionaire had I pulled the trigger on Bitcoin and I didnt so I appreciate you telling us your regrets and that helps all of us to become lifelong hoarders of everything we can carry.
Good job! I didn't know that aluminum precipitates palladium. I think it would be more interesting and complete if you had put all the steps in the video. A hug.
I think you may have turned things around. If you use hcl to get rid of the tin before you incinerate, then go to nitric and water, you will probably find a lot of silver in there. when you went to hcl after burning, you could have turned the silver into silver chloride. you may have a lot of silver in the filter and not know it.
That would be a good one, the solder could contain lead, tin, and sometimes silver. I've been working on a device that be loaded with circuit boards and under high heat would spin them and deposit the melted solder on the interior wall.
@@scrappydoo7887 no, just an armchair inventor. I believe the drawback would be the number of circuit boards required to make it economically feasable. I find that even not having a channel or even any content I've somehow had people subscribe to me.😜
Great video Dusan! Please tell us where these epoxy coated MLCC came from?? What kind of boards? I just sorted thru 8 kilos of epoxy coated pieces and did not find one blue with those markings. Thank You! Jim in Phoenix, Arizona.
What do you need it for? It goes into steel. I'm sitting next to 3 pallets of it cause I work at a steel mill. It's used for spring steels like leaf and coil springs.
I got a couple kilos of ceramic capacitors saved up 1 kilo that are blue the other ate mixed brown, green and orange. Hoping when I process them I get a decent return on precious metals. I also have about 2 1/2 kilos of ic chips saved up so far with luck those will give a good return also.
That is new to me, that hcl can dissolve copper... Can someone confirm this? I mean, why is everyone using AP to remove the copper from ram fingers instead of hcl?
HCl actually dissolves the copper oxide not the copper. O2 from the air dissolves in the HCl and then oxidises the copper which is further dissolved by the HCl. It's a cyclic process. AP just speeds it up the large increase in dissolved oxygen from the peroxide.
@@Enjoymentboy thanks for the explanation. I know that Peroxide and air can both used in the AP process, but to use air you need an air bubbler. I guess there is enough copper oxide from the burning to create enough copper-2-chloride to keep the cycle alive without any oxidizer?
@@safetyflipflop Basically there is always some copper oxide present and once that is dissolved by the HCl the cycle begins. There is a decent amount of O2 already dissolved in the HCl straight out of the jug...enough to dissolve the copper oxide. More will dissolve in from the open air albeit slowly and much more and faster when adding peroxide. If you have a saturated Copper choride solution (the dark brown colour) and just let it sit exposed to open air it will slowly turn a deep, rich green and more O2 dissolves into it. It'll look the same green as when using AP. Same process with one being faster and requiring more chemicals than the other. but in the end the same result. Keep in mind that AP will dissolve PMs so if you're trying to ONLY dissolve the copper AP is not your best bet.
Very nice! That is what us micro scrappers want to see! Happy New Year, I know this is a month old lol but it takes me a while to go through new subs old videos lol 🙂

This precantage of palladuim in only this capicitor .or any blue capacitor like this.or x7r only ??
Very Nice Dusan.....keepem coming
In a fine state like cemented Pd. HCl will dissolve Pd especially hot HCl
Great result! I wonder what's the purity
Master, your follower, how can I contact you? I will send you some pictures.
that's a impressive bead of palladium, great job!

It’s the reactivity series of metals. You could use zinc, copper, aluminum, lead, tin, even silver technically to cement pd out of solution :)
Thanks bro.

Thanks for all the learning
You are great
Amazing what you did
I like it
Thats a big nugget of palladium. I got some of those ill have to tty now
You solved big problem to me to drop my palladium
Thanks boss
How the heck did I miss this one!!
Well done.
Very nice work 👍

Awsome. Got plenty of aluminum.
Awesome !
Now you can sale this ?
Should have treated the caps with NaOH first to convert silver chloride to silver oxide before using nitric.....
I took apart a plasma tv that had about 100 large blue ceramic caps.
can you show how to recover tin . good price in us .

Beauty friend, your fan, your videos, I have a question about Nitric Detox, what is that? Please thank you
great job
Do all blue monolithic capacitors have palladium? I have some very large ones
Congrats brother..and good job 👊🏻
I stopped doing this as hobby mostly because I quit smoking and my shed was place of doing this and smoking but I still love your vids

I have about 3-5 pounds of different colored mlcc’s. Is there a chart breaking down these capacitors by color and pgm content?
How do you know which ones have palladium
Is the aluminum that you use any certain type, or can I just cut up a heatsink?
If there was silver in them, you prevented the recovery of it by starting out with an HCL extraction. (womp womp)
can i use the same prosess to recover gold? have droped copper and silver with zink barr. just to see if it will work
Cool beans

Hi, did you test purity with x-ray?
My solder iron good perches
Very nice
I think you mean that you're surprised not to see silver.
Very cool
You washed palladium powder with hydrochloric acid, but I read that palladium dissolves slowly in hydrochloric acid ???
You are right you need to wash that with cold path of hcl enough to dissolve aluminum, also copper doesnt dissolve in hcl as he mentioned
Why do you add hydrochloric acid first?? Can I do this with just nitric acid as it’s all I have rn??
I think its important to tell your viewers that Russian capacitors contain a very high level of palladium compared to western capacitors.
