    As of today, palladium spot market price, 2495.00 us dollars per ounce.
    When I first started micro scrapping I like many others only went for the obvious non ferrous, copper and aluminum. Couldn't even guess how many boards went to the landfill with hidden precious rare earth metals.
    Not now, EVERYTHING gets removed, stored in its own individual container. Thanks

    I think you may have turned things around. If you use hcl to get rid of the tin before you incinerate, then go to nitric and water, you will probably find a lot of silver in there.
    when you went to hcl after burning, you could have turned the silver into silver chloride. you may have a lot of silver in the filter and not know it.

    That is new to me, that hcl can dissolve copper... Can someone confirm this? I mean, why is everyone using AP to remove the copper from ram fingers instead of hcl?

    • @Enjoymentboy
      @Enjoymentboy 4 года назад +3

      HCl actually dissolves the copper oxide not the copper. O2 from the air dissolves in the HCl and then oxidises the copper which is further dissolved by the HCl. It's a cyclic process. AP just speeds it up the large increase in dissolved oxygen from the peroxide.

    • @safetyflipflop
      @safetyflipflop 4 года назад +1

      @@Enjoymentboy thanks for the explanation. I know that Peroxide and air can both used in the AP process, but to use air you need an air bubbler. I guess there is enough copper oxide from the burning to create enough copper-2-chloride to keep the cycle alive without any oxidizer?

    • @Enjoymentboy
      @Enjoymentboy 4 года назад +3

      @@safetyflipflop Basically there is always some copper oxide present and once that is dissolved by the HCl the cycle begins. There is a decent amount of O2 already dissolved in the HCl straight out of the jug...enough to dissolve the copper oxide. More will dissolve in from the open air albeit slowly and much more and faster when adding peroxide. If you have a saturated Copper choride solution (the dark brown colour) and just let it sit exposed to open air it will slowly turn a deep, rich green and more O2 dissolves into it. It'll look the same green as when using AP. Same process with one being faster and requiring more chemicals than the other. but in the end the same result. Keep in mind that AP will dissolve PMs so if you're trying to ONLY dissolve the copper AP is not your best bet.
