WARNING, IF YOU DO THIS ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR DISCONECT THE BATTERY! The driver's lock can open or close the windows even if the key is off. So when removing or installing the latch assembly, the lock rod being pushed or pulled on can cause the window to roll down unexpectedly. Ask me how I know :-)
Hey thanks to your video my husband and I did the actuator in our 2000 Lexus GS300 we referenced your video every step of the way and it went extremely well.
Great video, directions are spot on, the only thing I would also recommend is disconnecting the battery. If you accidentally unlock lock the door with the actuator plugged in while installing it, all the windows roll down and sunroof opens. If you hand or actuator is n the wrong spot when this happens, bad things could happen. I got lucky and nothing broke. If you don’t want to disconnect the battery, just plug the actuator in last after everything is bolted together.
I usually disconnect the MPX box so there is no power going to the door controls. Also, if you watch the part about how the clips on the door handle work you don’t need to remove the door handle. You can take the clips off from inside the door with a long screw driver.
Hi Gabe, my IS door lock switch no longer work. Drivers side and back driver's side. How much do you charge to get each door fix? I'm located in San Rafael. Thank youuu
This looks like something I would not do well. I need passenger front and rear I think. They don't lock w auto lock or fob key. Hope I find a person that is familiar w it. I wouldn't trust the dummies in my town to not mess up my door panels.
nice ! bro i literally went to the junkyard for the whole locking mechanism not thinking it might be my actuator, Im working on a gs400 and i was scared to break the handle so i cut out a piece off the door to take the whole locking mechanism through door handle hole haha i should've looked it up online 1st
It was my locking mechanism at the end , I would try to turn the key to unlock or lock the door from the outside and it wouldn’t lock or unlocked...actuator still doesn’t work though haha
OMG All that work just to replace a powered lock I think I will use my key or finger the old fashioned way Or if my car got stolen, insurance will pay me

This happened to me and fortunately, my hands were not inside. Also didn't break anything. Phew! I'm smart enough to know better!
Thank you for showing how to put it back together haha. That’s something a lot of these videos lack.
Nvm I’ll jus lock each door individually

Great video just purchased a 2000 gs with the same problem. Ordered the parts from ebay also. thanks for the video.
That is crazy, I thought this was a Lexus and it seems they put a ford or chevy part in there. That is a lot of work. Thank you for the video.
True lol. Literally the only part on this car that fails haha
@@805NAVE All parts eventually fail, but the worst one on these cars are the front LBJ major weak point.
Question . Would it be the actuators or something else ? I click the power lock on my door and I hear the click but none lock or unlock
Hey man. I rarely comment on videos but had to come say thanks for this. This helped me out immensely.
Lol I guess your a better mechanic that me still took me too long lol and lost a couple screws lol.
Nice, helped me get my passenger keyhole arm back on
