@@cleanerben9636 Both Cardassia and Bajor. Alot of Federation sympathizers like to ignore all the good Dukat did for the Bajorans during the occupation. He improved living conditions, improved working conditions, and the number of work-related death incidence saw a dramatic decrease with Dukat in charge Heck, if anyone deserves the credit for ending the occupation, it's Dukat. I still can't believe there's not a single statue of him on Bajor
The exchanges between the Cardassian and Bajoran were masterful. His bluster is so over-the-top, so megalomaniacal, but juuuuust convincing enough that you could believe him. He's hitting the right notes so that you want to believe him, to be convinced that he's speaking frankly and openly. He knows exactly which buttons to press to make you hate him while also making you trust him. It makes his breakdown all the more powerful.
Very good detail is Marritza's subtle expressions of disgust every time Kira leaves after one of his rants. He knows the things he is saying are awful and doesn't mean any of it, but it is necessary for him to sell his ruse.
Harris yulin was brilliant in this episode to go from mesmerizingly repulsive two tragic and sympathetic this is masterful acting and one of the best performances in all of Trek
Reading the commentary about the episode, they basically said that they didn't realize how brilliant the episode was until they had edited it all together. Harris Yulin was spending hours a day dealing with the Cardassian makeup, and having to start super early. He was so tired that the had trouble remembering his lines. But the result was genius - and I would put "Duet" up against any episode of Trek, ever.
Acting on DS9 was exceptional! the more I watch these clips, the more I am even more impressed. And I have watched the whole series over and over already
At 3:05 the utter hatred you get from Nana Visitor's face is so intense. You even see her grit her teeth slightly to show her time in the Bajoran resistance. Superb acting.
It isn’t just hatred though, though there are reactions where it is pure hatred: she’s also clearly wounded and desperate against her helplessness to challenge the sheer tragic statistics of trespasses the Cardassians subjected the Bajorans to
Wanted to be caught? I believe it, but what I’m saying is that is so incredibly painful. That he must be trying to show us by any means necessary not to clone. Thank you for that thank you for your service yes sir
HAHAHAHA 😂😂😂 Imagine the real Darhe'el going off on some megalomaniacal, sanctimonious diatribe, like the judge from GBII, against pathetic Bajoran scum about to be buried alive/tortured to death for some trivial offense.
Think, Kira! Cardassia will outlast every fragile, insignificant authority in the Alpha Quadrant. Our empire will live to see The Prohpet's crumble to dust and blow away! Everyone and everything you know will be gone! What will Bajor have after 500 years?
The best of the Star Trek series, Deep Space Nine was full of great story lines and Action on a believable and captivating style. TOO BAD Deep Space Nine was a Direct Rip Off of J.M.K.s Babylon 5!
Too bad that JMS was a two-bit amateur writer. Too bad that most of the cast of Babylon 5 didn’t have the acting skills to do dinner theater. Jerry Doyle - discount Bruce Willis wannabe Mira Furlan - ouch, no talent and overacting galore Claudia Christian - hammy no-talent hack
