I see everyone has the same impression. Hands down the best video I've seen on pavers. I have a project to do for pavers I've never done pavers. I'm going to watch yours probably 7 x times to understand the why in and of the how.
This is the kind of content I’m talking about! Very informative. As a homeowner I’ve been talking a patio for a while. Started a new section this weekend. As soon as you said never use more than one inch of sand on a pavers product I was like 😳 uhhhh whoops. There’s one section I used like 2 or more. Eek. Lol
Sam is a professional to the highest degree. I would want him on a job at my place . You can tell he really cares about his job and takes pride in what he does
You sir, and your crew, are consummate professionals. The pride you take in your work is awesome, you lead by example and it shows you hold not only yourself but your guys accountable. Good stuff.
Hey Stan, great video. I've been installing pavers professionally for over 13 yrs. We do our installs almost exactly to spec here in Ontario, but we take it one step further by installing heavy poly woven landscape fabric in as big of sheets that fit under our granular A subgrade. Helps with gravel retention and contamination from ground water into your base stone. Also polymeric sand is almost a must to reduce weeds and keep everything locked in tighter and prevents surface moisture from getting into the subgrade. You guys are awesome. I love your videos, keep up the good work.
Love these videos, especially this one. Takes extra time to worry about the camera while working. So great to see a step by step walk through of best practices by pros. Big thanks
Great video. I install paver patio and I think you guys did a great job. It's basically the same way I do it. I think the only difference is leveling the 1 inch pipe, in that, level center pipe the length of the patio. Next, I level the next pipe on one end then level the length wise then check level with center pipe at far end. Yes, I insure my pipes are straight. Next, I lay pavers as I screed sand. I don't like walking on fresh laid pavers until I have the "edge plate holders" are in place. I just wanted to share a possible direction. Again good job.
When I did hardscaping we used spikes to set grade. We would account for the pavers and the pipe set the pipes on the nails and slide them down. We also made a bracket for our compactor and used an old dump truck mud flap so we didn’t damage pavers. You guys are doing a great job!
Galvanized pipe for the one in sand I think might actually be just regular black pipe:-) unless maybe your galvanized pipe discolors in your climate. You guys are great keep up their beautiful excellent work. Thanks for all the lessons
This video just confirms that if you want it done right, you really need to spend the time measuring everything often and making adjustments constantly. The difference between a pro and amateur. Fine job!
Great video Stan. Hats off to Sam for great footage. The pavers look sensational but I'm not a fan of pavers for driveways or off street parking. I'm talking about snow plowing issues with the pavers....I think you know what I mean:) Thumbs up for the video!
Polymeric sand is nice and all, but you're going to hate yourself when it comes time to replacement it. I recommend using regular sand and adding sand stabilizing sealant, it'll make your life alot easier.
Nice work brothers, love it that no corners were cut and you'll took the time to make sure everything was accurate and laid out well. Great work. looks dope.
WOW! Unbelievable amount of hand work!!!!!!!!! I was all set to do a DIY, but this truly convinced me that would definitely hire a professional crew to do it correctly. Thanks for the video and I really enjoyed your camera work and running commentary.
gives me a good starting point for my next 2 paver projects. I put a paver slab in last year but it was just to hold firewood so not too worried if i have to re-do it eventually but the next 2 i need to do it right!
With the sidewalk looking like it’s protruding into the driveway pinging a new line and cutting the sidewalk to get a flush edge could also have been an option. Great vid 👍🏻
I do it quite simular. Instead of rails I use concrete and big slabs for enclosure. And give the whole place a fall away from the house. So I lift that rail close to the house half an inch to make sure, water flows away in 2 directions. Away from the hose and towards the street
Stan, I definitely have some advice I could provide to bring your work to the next level!!! I.e. polymeric sand (as a great example of something you missed. You're going to be pulling weeds from the joints before the end of this summer which can 100% be avoided.
Dang. Y’all do amazing work!!! Please come too Ohio and fix my driveway and foundation on my house. Plenty of places too stay, i have a stone quarry in my town, a bobcat dealer for skid steers and other equipment, as well as an equipment rental store. I’ll let you record it and everything.
You guys need the IQ table saw. No dust and no bending over. We cut slivers around 1/4” thick with it. Just need to make sure you have a generator that has a 30amp supply
Strap some carpet face down to the bottom of the compactor to run over and set the pavers so you don't scuff them and also mix in some dry cement with your dry infill sand to sweep into the cracks. Also I'm a west Aussie so we don't use flagstone. But no sealing required for a drive way?!
….no…as a GC its best to learn how to communicate the value to the client. Doesnt mean all will choose to work with you, but when you can effectively communicate the value of the work you are doing, then it not only justifies the cost, it also causes the potential client to then compare your scope and quality to all others. Most of the time we still land the contract
The level of cars you're guys demonstrate is refreshing to watch not all contractors are created equal

OntarioRedneXXX just finished mine this weekend. It's okay, but not pretty 🤣.
The information was exceptional. The team worked so well together. God bless your future endeavors. Dave

Loved the randomness and reorganizing pavers to keep patterns from forming
Yes you are looking at amateurs

Fair enough! and I do agree about the snowplowing issues.
There is nothing more satisfying than watching someone run a bobcat that knows what he is doing

Looks good Stan and Crew. I have had my far share of laying pavers. My brother owns a hardscape company and they lay around 500,000 sq ft a year.
Right on. thats some insane quantity of pavers!
nice trying to go into the masonry trade and this gave a good idea of what to expect
Great video.
Amazing, some people just don’t see the work that is involved before putting the pavers down.

For light coloured pavers white cement is expensive but lime works just aswell
They sell a rubber mat that attach to the bottom of the tamper won't scratch pavers
Put pavers on concrete, then collect check and on to the next.
Good job sir
Great job ! 😊👍🏼
outstanding! great video and done to perfection. keep up the great work guys! 👍

When anyone says to you "that's expensive", you should just say do it yourself. Can't beat class work.
With all due respect
...a good estimator sales person knows better not to say that..and leave the door open..always !
That's what I did lol 😆 😂, 4k na I'm good
