    Hi why would it not be possible to push purchase and checkout using your code?

      Yes, you can use the second mentioned method (custom events pixel) and with this you can push purchase and checkout datalayer events! Let me know if you have any questions around that

      I realized that I haven't answered your main question, so the first method, where I add the code snippet to the theme files, will push all datalayer events except for the checkout and purchase events indeed.
      The reason is Shopify doesn't allow directly adding tracking snippets to the checkout and purchase pages, previously we had a file for that called checkout.liquid where we were able to do that, since last year, Shopify moved to using something called checkout extensibility and thank-you extensibility where it only allows us to add tracking snippets to the checkout and purchase pages through the custom pixel (which is the second method shared in the video)
