In general human moral psychology, the supplier in the criminal dynamic is more tied to causation than the demander. So, the law attributes both the cause and effect of the crime to them, just like in drug cases, assault cases, human trafficking cases, arms smuggling cases, embezzlement cases, etc.
Rationally, this perspective is one-sided, flawed and unbalanced just like the entire human wisdom is. But unfortunately it has come to be the standard that hyperagency (supplier/giver) carries more guilt than hypoagency (demander/receiver) and so they're punished more harshly.

@@kokoyaro because objectivaly in some cases (mostly drug cases) the supplier is more guilty than the reciever. The supplier gave the access that would otherwise be denied. In this case this woman tricked people into giving her their children without them knowing they would never see them again and then sold them off to the highest bidder. Litterally going around the normal adoption process for her own gain. I'm sure the police have already arressted the buyers and charged them but the main focus is stopping the ring leader cause in order to stop the mass amount of buyers you have to go after the seller.

My heart absolutely breaks for Yang Niuhua, I just listen to a podcast on her story by RottenMango, both her parents passes away after 2 years of her abduction. For people who can read Chinese, she’s written a book on her experience.

She shouldn’t get the death sentence. She should get the torture sentence.

Probably harder to catch. Also, they can't buy if no one is trafficking children. Just like drugs, no middlemen and supplier, you can't even get the illegal drugs

This is not a fair Justice system, it reflects the hold of imperial Chinese Justice still very deep. Even when one child abduction is confirmed the person must not be allowed to be eligible for appeal. The reason is very clear , equality of humans demands that no one must be held with discrimination and deprived of freedom to be treated as commodity, captured, kidnapped, enslaved or bound . This much public money to be wasted for such a heinous criminal for prosecution is discrimination.

A rapist can walk out of jail within 2 to 6 months and a murder can walk of jail within 10 to 20 years in US. At least, China has death sentence.

The verdict in this case had nothing to do with the imperial system, Western justice system granting criminals more rights than victims.

Two advices: 1. Do not use a preconceived idea of justice / legal system to criticise another system which you do not understand, especially when your idea is paraphrased right out of some undergraduate (possible some highschool?) course cliche. 2. Learn to write proper English.

Because you see & think only from your own perspective, your country & way of thinking without even try to lean & understand china. What you know about china you learn from those english authors books & your news medias.
"Imperial chinese justice" ha ha ha just from this words alone , you dont understand the meaning 1.4bill vs only 300mill
