I seriously appreciate this diversity take, as much as I genuinely love drawing characters of all different origins and appearances, there are things that I just prefer to draw and I think that’s fine. It’s okay if someone has a niche for drawing a specific thing, I don’t see an issue with that. Art is such a diverse thing in and of itself and of course it’s awesome that there’s artists out there who can do everything, but it’s also perfectly fine that there’s some who don’t. plus like people try to day oh why do you only draw hot woman and not any chubby woman like its not ok to only draw sexy body types as if being fat is your body type your just fat eat less do cardio eat a clean diet and workout your body type is the shape of your body and bone structure not you being fat
@@FROST218I love how the original comment said, essentially, draw whatever you like and in your case it would appear you prefer sexy bodies, but the replies are hating on your opinion 😂 looks like they missed the point
I'm 16 right now. Not using Tiktok. Pretty happy with my life I had a short conversation with a kid, my friend's little sister, who was playing Subway Surfers on her tablet. I told her that I play it too and she started excitedly telling me how she has all these cool skins and characters. I was proud of her, thinking she had played the game a lot and saved up for those characters. And then she hits me with the "Yeah, I'm kind of our family's big spender" (I dunno how to translate it well) sounding so proud of herself. And then I felt bad. I can't feel good owning things like that if I buy them instead of working to get them. So why was she so proud about it? It sure didn't sound like a good thing.
14 here! I think it's because spending money to buy stuff is so romanticized and glorified, so much that when kids see their parents get excited over buying stuff and their siblings bragging to their friends about buying a new console etc etc (not saying it's wrong to do so), they end up thinking: 'oh, so spending money makes us cool!' and the likes though really, working for something makes us love it even more, and i think that should be a value that the younger generation nowadays should acknowledge more (Including me, I ain't perfect lol)
13 right now, I personally don't like spending tons of money. I grew up with 2000s tech (Ipod classic, xbox 360, ds, 3ds, etc.) i never really got "new things." As the youngest in my family, i got a ton of hand-me-down stuff (thats normal, right?) And i don't have tiktok, (rightfully so) I haven't watched since quarantine. Now, all these kids spending tons of money on makeup as 7 year olds. I don't understand, idk what gen i am since im 2011 since google has been unhelpful so... idk if this is my generation or not. Either way, i don't understand the "glamorization" of it all.
Maybe she just didn't see the appeal of taking the time to unlock all those characters since it would definitely take a long time, she was just given an easy option and so long as she didn't use the money without permission then theirs nothing that wrong with it. And I honestly don't blame her, I've tried grinding in subway surfer's for a character but I quickly grew bored of the game once I realized how difficult it'd be.
@@YukiCanDrawhaha, also 14! I also think money should be a value! But many children (including myself) don't have to buy food or buy rent or spend their money on important things, that's their parents job. So while money should be valued, I can see why most younger people spend their money on things that are miscellaneous! (I mean I'm personally bad at spending money as well lol I just spent $25 of my check on fortnite... 😞)
@@cosmic_ghostbruh I agree, just saying that children should be taught how certain expenses can be avoided, and how much more some games could be enjoyable if played without skipping through via real world money... not saying it's wrong if you do it occasionally though, even I spent some of my pocket money on minecraft
the inclusivity thing, i only really draw Mexican characters, bc- im Mexican, i only draw people, bc- im a people, and i only draw mostly queer characters bc- im queer- so ya we all- have like things we draw, idk im not going to draw a skinny blond straight girl bc its not what i doooooooooo? idk
It always sucks when ppl criticize so easily, esp with the race or “same face syndrome” thing. Just let ppl draw what makes them happy, right? Isn’t that what art is all about? It always feels like we gotta make other ppl happy with what we do.
@@tardissing5600I think it really is just his artstyle, which looks like it takes inspiration from disney princesses (disney princesses are notorious for having same face syndrome) I think same face syndrome is something you should eventually at least try to branch out of as a learning artist, but if it’s what you’re comfortable with and makes YOU happy, that’s whats important. I have multiple artstyles, and have been learning the arcane artstyle which has taught me so much about facial diversity. An I feel even with my other artstyle which is highly stylized, I can still make faces look somewhat different. (Varying eye shapes, length of the face, etc.) No shade to sam, he has a lovely artstyle, and it’s his free will to draw whatever. I’m just speaking personally, as I’ve seen so much growth in my own art :P
I agree, I personally believe that drawing is purely for SELF enjoyment. Though I can draw many things such as animals, people, background, etc, I still very rarely like posting because I’m simply a *hobby artist* and feel no need to listen to strangers complain.
I am SO happy I found your channel. Listening to you talk, hear about your opinions without holding back or caring what some people might think is so refreshing and amazing ;-; its relaxing to listen to you and watch your gorgeous art as well, and I am so happy to hear art takes you a long time too. I always thought I was a "bad artist" for taking 17+ hours for 1 drawing, even my sketches can take 3 - 6 hours alone, but hearing you talk about it makes me feel relieved and happy

I love how they both turned out! And yea, all my art takes at least like 10 hours, (and that’s not including the sketch since I do it on paper first) so I know a fragment of your paint hahaha😅 I’d love to see a “drawing your ocs in my style” video, since your art style is gorgeous 🙌
@@sukidoesstuff no worries, the stuff I posted on RUclips did not take me 10 hours since they were only sketches/not really finished art pieces so I get where your cousin is coming from 😊
I watch both you and SamDoesArt regularly so this is like an awesome crossover episode for me. You did such an amazing job with the challenge, I am impressed!
unfortunately my biggest issue with the online art community is that everyone is so hyper focused on portraits and conventionally attractive women. It's like everywhere I turn and every big artist only copies photos of hot girls on pinterest. Like, i understand that people should be allowed to draw whatever they want without issue, but it feels as though the art community has moved further and further away from creative expression and towards just reinforcing unnatural standards for beauty, and that's kind of sad to me. Im all for drawing pretty women, but it doesn't hurt to push boundaries and explore the concept of beauty, I mean, we're artists and creative people after all, we shouldnt limit what we draw to just what society deems as attractive
I get where you're coming from, but there has always been a large quantity of artists drawing what was deemed popular or attractive at the time. It's frustrating, sure- but do you think, when you look at a statue of David, a painting of Venus, or even an old comic book about Wonder Woman, that there were no beauty standards involved in that? At the same time, there have always been people making ugly, strange, or mundane art. The furry community is huge, so is the horror art community, and there are thousands of artists who create average looking characters- or even reinterpret existing attractive characters as average-looking. It may seem like there's an overwhelming amount of people drawing pretty women, but that goes hand in hand with the fact that art is more accessible to us now than it was 50, 100, or 500 years ago. And as for why the most popular people seem to draw pretty women- they're popular *because* they draw pretty women. Pretty women are like the least subversive thing you can draw. Popularity is directly tied to the consistent flow of people that see your work- if you make something unappealing or controversial, you're just not gonna be as popular, and that's a problem if your income relies on your online following. If you really want to see something that challenges beauty standards, don't look to big artists. Go to art tags and look around until you find some people that really inspire you, make an effort to find and support those artists who are pushing the boundaries. Hell, you could even go look at art galleries nearby or look online for artists who create work in your region. Looking to art influencers for nuance is like looking for a homemade chocolate chip cookie in a box of store bought crackers :p
Finally, a beautiful commentary, no drama nothing. Everything you said in this video was so correct lol right down to the gen alpha stuff. Sam's art is so impressive, I can't even fathom or break down the way he makes his art. HOW DO BLOBS MAKE WATER??? Thats why i worship people who blend/paint, like you! You can blend so well, this was sooo satisfying to watch.
About kids on social media, I fully agree. I’m still young (10th grade) but everyone that I knew already was on TikTok and Snapchat in 6th grade. I’m grateful that my mother never gave in and didn’t let me get a phone until 9th grade, when i actually needed it for communication. It’s crazy how it’s so hard for a child to not have social media now, too, because everyone around them does, and everyone I knew also had Snapchat, and wouldn’t even text each other. It’s almost like you get socially cast out if you’re not on the internet at a really young age. (Sorry if none of this makes sense)
Ik how people might feel casted out and 'missing' on a lot for not being active on social media but take it from me ( a not so mature adult) but staying away from tiktok, twitter, Instagram , Snapchat, reddit , discord was one of the best decision i took as a Teenager for my metal health and don't regret it one bit And ig that's one of the reasons why i have such meaningful and real relationships with people now So keep doing what makes you comfortable
@ I agree, in the end it’s definitely worth it. Thanks for sharing your perspective! (Glad to know it’s not just me as a stupid teenager thinking this lol)❤️
That inclusivity rant was such a wake up call to me. Im really really not good at drawing that big of a diverse group of people, I can draw different races just fine because of practice and because it's easier being from an area with a diverse range of cultures and races But I struggle a lot with different body types (which I'm practicing) and even more so with ages of characters. I am going to practice getting better at them but oh my goodness. I didn't think about how hard I was being on myself. I really thought I was a bad artist for just not knowing how to draw all these different things, when in reality it'll take time, even if I know how to draw some people. So uh, thank you :>
It makes me really inspired to see you taking this much time to achieve this high detailed art which could be disheartening for younger artists who ask themselves "why do I need a long time to finish a piece, am I not good enough?" You change the way we view ourselves and that's pretty inspiring anyhow I do agree with the check boxes that artist aspire to fulfil but it's kind of impossible to get them all in check Off topic I think princess cookie is on the chubbier side she's so cuteeee
I’m now 18 minutes in. I must say I agree. I watched every ep from season 1 to season 6 of My Hero Academia in 4 days, when I see something I like, I’m all over it the next like, 5 years. I watched so much Bugs Bunny, I can do an almost perfect impression of him, I learned how to spin a stick like Donny in TMNT 2012 because I’ve been crushing on him since I was 7. My attention span is long for a Gen Alpha, and I have to say, if they shorten Anime episodes I’ll cry. I love long form content. Shows? I watch. Series? Gimme. WebComics? I read the whole thing in less then 5 hours, and excitedly wait for the next episode EVERY WEEK. I. Need. Long. Episodes.
I’m so glad I finally found an artist who actually takes their time in making art. I’ve always felt guilty for constantly adding details and wanting to perfect my art as much as I could instead of being faster and more effective. I really enjoyed this video and your artworks are gorgeous, thank you for sharing ❤❤ I’m now a new subscriber ❤❤
"Your parents follow all of your art accounts" Mine never really did. My mother legitimately thought that Deviantart was a porn site when I first started out back in 2007, until I had to explicitly show them that it was an artist community website and adult content was not allowed at the time. It is now, but the admins would greatly appreciate it if you put things behind a paywall, and put mature warnings on the posts as children are on the site, and I am an adult now, so it doesn't matter anymore.
A very entertaining video, it was a lot of fun to watch! I participated in the challenge myself, and your creations are incredible! The attention to detail is also impressive, and the quality suggests that a lot of time and love went into every little aspect.
Like there are so many artists in the world/media that DO more diverse art and a wider range of everything from skin to fucking toenails, why're people trying to push everything on an artist that is most likely young and barely educated on basic anatomy????
I think the only valid ways I see the argument is when its applied to professional character designers for video games and movies/shows, or when youtubers choose to draw a character in a sertain way even though they don't look like that irl (Kolleen is one of those weird people). The thing that makes it difficult is that if you want to share your diverse art because you want to show that you draw all people but you are bad at drawing all people because you've only practiced on anime girls before, you get judged either way. If you make an unrealistic plus sized character then you get hate for being bad at it even though you're new at it and wanting to learn and practice, but if you don't post them then they are mad that you don't draw them or that you refuse to post them. The real solution is to stop caring what others say, draw what you want and if you feel that the audience's opinion is valid in that you want to draw more diverse characters then do that and show your progress and how you are open to learning.
21:38 I think the shoulders of the 2nd character are what makes her look so stiff. That 90 degree angle looks not very natural considering her pose as well. Maybe hanging them down more and making them different heights would help
Thank you for talking about how long it takes to draw a piece. I always thought I was being a perfectionist but it’s just my art style and I need to be okay with it as long as I’m happy ^^
I'm so happy I came across your channel today! wow! Such a skilled artist!! Listening to you talk, I found we have so much in common haha I take an extreme amount of time on my line art and art pieces in general. (longest being 96 hrs *cough*) I thought, 'I'm just slow' but it's so refreshing to hear you say that you admire Sam's art so much (as i do as well) but that you have your own style and it's ok that its different and takes 14million times longer!! Yes! I feel that lol If we all drew the same way the art world would be rather stale I think. Plus we all work at different paces. I have a friend who draws super creepy monster art and my other friend draws amazing whimsical landscapes.. both are incredible in their own right. I happen to love drawing pretty ladies (that take me like 30 hrs), it's just what I'm used to I suppose, but people who can draw babies to old ppl just blow my mind xD like how?! I don't think it's a bad thing to draw one specific thing, it does make you popular fer sure. But it's also not bad to be versatile! Which is something I always struggle with being...not niching down or whatever... I just draw what inspires me.. so my 'feed' doesn't look.. cohesive >_>...not very aesthetically pleasing enough i guess (but I also hate social media and am on a hiatus since 2 years ago lol) and I think every artist should draw what inspires them and not box themselves in, so to speak. But I mean, we're artists, so draw what you love and screw the haters lol I always tell my daughter (she's 5) that there are no mistakes in art. It's ok to go outside the lines, it doesn't matter. It's Art! It can be whatever you want it to be! Don't limit yourself by trying to make it perfect. Anyway... I went off on a rant but yeah lol LOVE your channel! Now don't mind me as I go binge watch all your other videos xD Subscribed!
I’m 14 since Dec 17 2024, and I’ve been on RUclips since I was like 5 or 6, and I’m obsessed with artists and art. I didn’t hear of SamDoesArt until last year while watching a kooleen video😃
9:08 exactly!!! I mainly would love to learn how to draw simply because id like to bring characters to life, for me to imagine them in books i write online but also just for fun!! For instance, i mainly would love to draw and write horror because thats one of the many genres i watch (and am scared of LOL). And when i do draw it's intentionally messy because it looks better that way to me. I dont do line art because it makes it look "way too clean" as well. By the way your art looks so yummy i kinda wanna eat it
Omg I'm so happy your video was recommended to me, I agree with most of your opinions (that might be considered controversial) and It's good to know it takes you a long time to draw, I see people posting a new piece once every 2 or 3 days and it's so overwhelming since I take suuuuuuper long I know it's bc I only got into art this year and have alot to learn but still it's very reassuring to know that even with your level of skills it takes you a long time so thank you for sharing all that 🧡
Thank you for the message thats honest and to the point without being overly harsh. Draw what you want, and if no one is making what you want, pick up a pencil. It won't bite.
Omw I can relate to drawing for hours and days on one drawing. I started a channel too and did this same art challenge, and I totally had to think outside the box to be able to do the challenge and still make content from it. It was refreshing and a good learning experience to watch how you did it. Thanks for being so honest in how long it takes for you to draw and make art 😌
It's really gratifying to know I'm not the only one who takes a long time to complete a piece compared to artists like Sam Yang or Marc Brunet! I don't think it's possible to do linework clean and fast... Unless you're Moebius, Kopinski or Kim Jung Gi (and to be fair, they already put in the mileage to be able to work fast, loose, and good)!
lovely work. I agree your second piece is a little stiff, but maybe after getting all those scars she is a little stiff? keep playing with you art and you'll get faster : D maybe play Gartic Phone with the Drawfee crew, or a colab episode.
just a side note, I always watch videos with captions on and I almost missed your little note by the end because the captions completely covered it, maybe try placing it more off to the side next time. No judgment, just a suggestion.
Thanks for saying that it takes way more than 2-3 hours to finish a piece on avarage! I'm so tired of stressing out about not being quick enough...your admission makes me feel seen, thanks!
I love how these turned out! You do such a good job making the dread locks look... dreadlock-y? I don't know how to explain it. At first it looked like tiger stripes but when you lightenened the middle WOW 🤩 Definitely a trust the process moment. And this is a weird thing to notice but her elbow is *phenomenal.* I always hide elbows in cloaks or hoodies but you made it look exactly right. I have some critique if you want it: The elf ears look a bit too far from her head. The hair going straight down behind them makes it look like they're only attached by a thin line of skin. It seems like you make skin and cloth too shiny. It looks intentional on the bunnysuit, and maybe on the club getup, but too much on the skin. It looks almost slick. The lighting on the second girl is interesting, because it implies that she has her back to all of the colorful lights, and is facing towards a room lit by a white light. If it's intentional, great job. If not, it would be cool to see the highlights be purple or blue to match the lights behind her.
Girl you are so real! I love that you talk about other things than just art on your videos, the amount of hard work you put into your drawings, that you post your times, and especially how much your ideas mesh with mine! (also an anime fan and samdoesarts fan, lol). Please keep making content! 😊
Thank you sooo much! I was getting frustrated with how long my art was taking to get it done! But hearing this from you motivates me. Another thing I love love your line art ❤.
caring about inclusivity or a lack of inclusivity from artists is so weird. Like that's just a guy who drew some shit.. those kinds of conversations make sense when talking about companies or media in general, but complaining about one person's creations is so odd. If you wanna see other shit, go look for someone who draws that other shit.
Hear me out, the two characters, they're partners in crime, they work together to take down whatever hot shot their hired to kill! Also I love how you drew the dreadlocks, that's something I struggle with is hair styles, and also those hands in the drawings are so good, I'm jealous
Two weeks for five eps is absolutely WILD to me. When I started JJK, I was glued to my screen for hours-I think I finished season 1 in maybe 3 days or so (took me a hot minute because I still somewhat have a sense of self preservation... Kinda.) but also, I find it funny how he set gojo as his wallpaper after only five episodes. Sure, Gojo is an icon but ok 😭 I'm a big Lookism fan, like I've been hyperfixated on it for YEARS and I only started setting my background and those kinds of things to Lookism stuff after rereading 500+ episodes multiple times lol.
I take 2 hours trinna find a pose😭 then 2 on base sketching then 4 hours on line art, finally 5 hours coloring☠️ and fr i only use tiktok for inspo. And I mostly use pintrest so i dont use tiktok often
You took this challenge like a champ! This is the first time I have watched one of your videos, and I love your process from sketching it out to linework and colour. It's really fascinating and inspiring to watch. I also love your art style, and you've inspired me to start drawing again! A subscriber from here on out
I honestly didn’t get bored or fast forwarded at all, everything you talked about was actually important and good for viewers, which I appreciate, and I was for real invested. Nice process, and I’m def subbing! Also love your editing and appreciate the time you take ! Thankkkks
Hey, love the drawing but I’m close in skin color with the girl with the alcohol glass and my palms are lighter than the rest of my skin. It’s not visible on light skinned people but the palm of hands and soles of feet tend to be lighter than the rest of the skin on darker people.
Im a person who watches 5 eps in 1 week, and it really depends on whether im hooked or not. I really cant be bothered with jjk for some reason. Not that its a subjectively bad show, i think subjectively its probably great! But objectively, im not one for shounen anime in general so i couldnt watch it fast. Now beastars on the other hand, i gobbled up 2 seasons in 2 days, bc i just personally liked it a lot. It varies heavily for me
I'm so happy to know there are other artists who take hours on each piece they draw. I thought I was the problem and I thought I wasn't good enough and like "yeah the results look good but it took days, I suck" So I'm happy to know I'm not the only one like this.
I discovered your channel through this video. It makes me sooo happy,. Your style is really beautiful and i have a good time listening to you talk in each video
I just found your channel and omg. your artstyle is so gorgeous. Immediate sub Most of my things never take more than 5 hours...tho I mostly draw faces of animals and in my own style. I am trying to learn how to draw humans but let me be honest...I am way too lazy to learn where every bone is, what muscles look like and what not. If you have any tips pls let me know! about tiktok: I totally agree...but they would also need to remove Instagram shorts and RUclips shorts. I am so glad I grew up without those because if I didn´t I couldn´t binge watch any shows or stay focused on something I wanted to do. If I ever have kids I really hope that Tiktok is gone by then or that there is some way for me to block it...I mean sure...there is some nice things there but honestly it destroys the human mind lol
THAT SIX YEAR DIFFERENCE IS INSANE! Also this looks like so much fun, I defiantly want to give it a go because I'm one of those people who enjoy being forced out of my comfort zone.
"Why do his blobs make water and mine don't?" I can't express how much I relate to needing clean lines and logic in your art and people who can just blob-blob-away a masterpiece scare me in the best way
Why am I discovering your content only now 😱 I've never related to another artist on social media as much as you right now 😆, I nodded and agreed with everything you said! Thank you for your transparency, these last few years I haven't had the mental energy to draw anything "complicated or polished" (like you just did, idk how else to express it ) and the rare occasions where I do, I forget how much time it actually takes, I don't finish it and I get mad at myself for not being able to draw faster even tho in hindsight I've always drawn very slowly 😅 and also thank you for reminding me that I don't have to cramp an infinite amount of content every day to be successful, posting once a week or once a every two weeks if totally fine ( it takes some of the pressure off ). I also adore your art style and technique, the two designs looked lovely , I subscribed then minutes in to the video. I'm looking forward for your next content!!
I think too many people have an "all or nothing" perspective when it comes to being diverse with their characters. It kills me to see artists being held to such high standards that they feel like they "can't win" and don't even try. In my experience, learning how to draw a wide variety of people is 100% worth the time and effort it takes, not for the sake of "realism" or internet brownie points, but for variety! Even if you already have a really specific niche. This even applies to that example you gave about horror artists! Knowing how to make something cute allows you to draw something so much scarier through the contrast! (In that same vain, if you know how to draw fat people, you can make an even juicier booty, if you're into that) Being "inclusive" should be fun and fulfilling, for both the creator and the people who enjoy their work. It makes me so upset that the constant nitpicking and unsolicited criticism has turned it into a dirty word.
I think that every artist who draws people would benefit from learning how to draw all kinds of people. It helps you to know, for example, how lighting works on all kinds of surfaces, how skin folds or fat distribution work, etc. Like you don't have to keep drawing every possible human trait there is, but everyone will benefit from learning how to draw it. And when you know more, your visual library expands and you might even make the stuff you do like to draw, better.
I am speechless. Because is so many things you speak that I relate. Like being late to trends, not posting to much. Also the 4 houseman of apocalypse XD. I feel that when people critize Habiz Hotel (Which I dont approve the creator btw) because one the complaints is like the lack of inclusivity for the design. (Btw is okay as take, but I dont feel is like a problem as like the same red thing or the overdesign).
Hi! I... Am gen alpha and i do watch your videos. I feel kinda bad now... Anyways, i can tell you about my experience with my classmates and gen alpha n stuff! A lot of them spend TONS od money on videogames. Not like, i get a physical copy of the game for €40 kind of, but the microtransations kind of. And tbh, i dont see how people spend more than like €7 a month on videogames at such a young age! I play gacha games, GACHA GAMES like Genshin Impact and i dont spend so much money on games! But i gotta say, here in Italy theres a bit different kind of brainrot? Most of them have tiktok (i dont. I have youtube and pinterest, mostly for memes). Anyways, i feel like they probably arent that brainrotted, theyre probably smarter than the average kid, some of them can solve math problems faster than the teacher so yeah...😅 I felt that sharing my opinion would have been cool! Anyways, i am NOT 5!!!! Im older😭 Also, i only play like... 3 games? I just mostly play Genshin Impact not gonna lie...

I'm 16 right now. Not using Tiktok. Pretty happy with my life
I had a short conversation with a kid, my friend's little sister, who was playing Subway Surfers on her tablet.
14 here! I think it's because spending money to buy stuff is so romanticized and glorified, so much that when kids see their parents get excited over buying stuff and their siblings bragging to their friends about buying a new console etc etc (not saying it's wrong to do so), they end up thinking:
'oh, so spending money makes us cool!' and the likes
though really, working for something makes us love it even more, and i think that should be a value that the younger generation nowadays should acknowledge more (Including me, I ain't perfect lol)
@@cosmic_ghostbruh I agree, just saying that children should be taught how certain expenses can be avoided, and how much more some games could be enjoyable if played without skipping through via real world money... not saying it's wrong if you do it occasionally though, even I spent some of my pocket money on minecraft
unrelated but ur makeup is so pretty

the inclusivity thing, i only really draw Mexican characters, bc- im Mexican, i only draw people, bc- im a people, and i only draw mostly queer characters bc- im queer- so ya we all- have like things we draw, idk im not going to draw a skinny blond straight girl bc its not what i doooooooooo? idk
It always sucks when ppl criticize so easily, esp with the race or “same face syndrome” thing. Just let ppl draw what makes them happy, right? Isn’t that what art is all about? It always feels like we gotta make other ppl happy with what we do.
@@tardissing5600 yeep
@@tardissing5600I think it really is just his artstyle, which looks like it takes inspiration from disney princesses (disney princesses are notorious for having same face syndrome)
I think same face syndrome is something you should eventually at least try to branch out of as a learning artist, but if it’s what you’re comfortable with and makes YOU happy, that’s whats important. I have multiple artstyles, and have been learning the arcane artstyle which has taught me so much about facial diversity. An I feel even with my other artstyle which is highly stylized, I can still make faces look somewhat different. (Varying eye shapes, length of the face, etc.)
No shade to sam, he has a lovely artstyle, and it’s his free will to draw whatever.
And you should never change
I am SO happy I found your channel. Listening to you talk, hear about your opinions without holding back or caring what some people might think is so refreshing and amazing ;-; its relaxing to listen to you and watch your gorgeous art as well, and I am so happy to hear art takes you a long time too. I always thought I was a "bad artist" for taking 17+ hours for 1 drawing, even my sketches can take 3 - 6 hours alone, but hearing you talk about it makes me feel relieved and happy

Looking to art influencers for nuance is like looking for a homemade chocolate chip cookie in a box of store bought crackers :p
it's almost like random people from all over the world are NOT a community and beauty standard is what the majority of people find attractive
You can blend so well, this was sooo satisfying to watch.
almost everything you said in this video is relatable , both art and the anime/games stuff :3
Ik how people might feel casted out and 'missing' on a lot for not being active on social media but take it from me ( a not so mature adult) but staying away from tiktok, twitter, Instagram , Snapchat, reddit , discord was one of the best decision i took as a Teenager for my metal health and don't regret it one bit
And ig that's one of the reasons why i have such meaningful and real relationships with people now
So keep doing what makes you comfortable
sorry if none of this makes sense? everything makes sense, i've felt it myself, it sucks!
@ I agree, in the end it’s definitely worth it. Thanks for sharing your perspective! (Glad to know it’s not just me as a stupid teenager thinking this lol)❤️

That inclusivity rant was such a wake up call to me. Im really really not good at drawing that big of a diverse group of people, I can draw different races just fine because of practice and because it's easier being from an area with a diverse range of cultures and races
But I struggle a lot with different body types (which I'm practicing) and even more so with ages of characters. I am going to practice getting better at them but oh my goodness. I didn't think about how hard I was being on myself. I really thought I was a bad artist for just not knowing how to draw all these different things, when in reality it'll take time, even if I know how to draw some people. So uh, thank you :>
It makes me really inspired to see you taking this much time to achieve this high detailed art which could be disheartening for younger artists who ask themselves "why do I need a long time to finish a piece, am I not good enough?"
You change the way we view ourselves and that's pretty inspiring
anyhow I do agree with the check boxes that artist aspire to fulfil but it's kind of impossible to get them all in check
Off topic I think princess cookie is on the chubbier side she's so cuteeee
I’m actually so upset I’ve never seen your channel 😭
You and your art are absolutely gorgeous and you are so funny 😭
I agree
THAT RENDERING THOUGH *chefs kiss*
WHY IS YOUR ART SO PRETTY!?
@@pepziifroztgamer6102 I wholeheartedly agree and you worded that beautifully. Kudos to ppl like you

Hehe thank you!! 🤭❤️
(longest being 96 hrs *cough*)
I thought, 'I'm just slow' but it's so refreshing to hear you say that you admire Sam's art so much (as i do as well) but that you have your own style and it's ok that its different and takes 14million times longer!!

Unless you're Moebius, Kopinski or Kim Jung Gi (and to be fair, they already put in the mileage to be able to work fast, loose, and good)!

the way u feel about art and social media and how u work is exactly how i feel omg, also love ur stuff keep up the amazing work!!
I have some critique if you want it:
The elf ears look a bit too far from her head.

Two weeks for five eps is absolutely WILD to me. When I started JJK, I was glued to my screen for hours-I think I finished season 1 in maybe 3 days or so (took me a hot minute because I still somewhat have a sense of self preservation...

I really like your art style and your voice and makeup
(In that same vain, if you know how to draw fat people, you can make an even juicier booty, if you're into that)
Being "inclusive" should be fun and fulfilling, for both the creator and the people who enjoy their work.
I am in love with your art style, you are so talented
I am speechless. Because is so many things you speak that I relate.
Like being late to trends, not posting to much. Also the 4 houseman of apocalypse XD.
I feel that when people critize Habiz Hotel (Which I dont approve the creator btw) because one the complaints is like the lack of inclusivity for the design.
(Btw is okay as take, but I dont feel is like a problem as like the same red thing or the overdesign).
Holy, your shading is so good. I am currently working on my shading but urs are so gooooood
5:12 LMAOOO "im sorry.. put that down 😧"
Hi!
Anyways, i feel like they probably arent that brainrotted, theyre probably smarter than the average kid, some of them can solve math problems faster than the teacher so yeah...😅
I felt that sharing my opinion would have been cool!
Anyways, i am NOT 5!!!! Im older😭
Also, i only play like... 3 games? I just mostly play Genshin Impact not gonna lie...
I feel like I feel bad for taking so long on a piece so I end up rushing myself at times when I just wanna spend forever on a piece sometimes. So I stopped rendering things nowadays because I feel like I just need to rush out a bunch of pieces. Watching your videos and seeing your gorgeous art and knowing it took you a long time really encourages me and makes me wanna take more time on my pieces and go back to my old art and take my time again
Really well done!
"How your blobs make water and mine don't" 😂 i can relate 😂
DEAR LO- Valerie! Your characters are sick!!! You and Sam do have different art styles, but everyone has their own liking, and I personally like your art style better! We'll be supporting you!
(And also you look gorgeous. respect you for everything.)
(5:12 🤣🤣🤣🤣)
(Also your sleepy bun is adorable)
I have the opposite problem of always think i took too little time on my peice which makes my brain think that i dont give a shit😭
this is exactly what I needed omg
omg your drawings are so pretty! what age did you started drawing?? I swear it looks like you've been drawing for so long because your art is so beautiful and uniquee💗
