When YP unmasked himself that was the first time the public has seen his face (obviously people who knew him knows he is yp) which is why this caused a massive reaction from australia because in every other clip he’s masked, he wears a mask here and there but it won’t be the same because the mystery is gone now

Coming from New Zealand, we all grew up pretty much only listening to US rap and all the famous NZ rappers used a US accent so when I first heard a UK accent in rap I couldn’t take it seriously either. Then I heard Aus rap (like Kerser, 360, Gravy Baby and the other HustleHardTV boys) and tbh that made me appreciate UK rap a bit more 😂 it wasn’t until Onefour came out that I could actually listen to an Aus accent on a song coz they were Polynesian boys like me and talked like I do so it wasn’t so cringey to me lol. I did listen to Aussie rappers back in the days like MLBRN, Elijah Yo, Pistol Pete and Enzo but they were all using the US accent back then 😅 but yeah, it took me a good 3-5 years to adjust to hearing the UK and Aus accents in music
You all do know that was the first time yps face was shown that’s why this songs was so hyped up he showed his face because he got charged with attempt to take humanly life so before they locked him up he showed his face to everyone and then a year or two he beat the charge but that is why here in Australia the song was so hyped up
