  • The infamous Darien Gap between Colombia and Panama is the only land route from South America that leads north in the direction of the US. That's why hundreds of thousands of migrants make the dangerous crossing every year. The risks are enormous - many are robbed or sexually assaulted. The terrain is extremely dangerous.

In the US there only low paid jobs for people who don't speak English and no affordable housing, unless the government is paying for it - which I imagine they expect will happen. The streets are not paved in gold, they are paved with homeless people.

It is not only Haitians and Central Americans, but also Cubans and Venezuelans who have a political, social and economic crisis that is happening there in those countries. But they do not emigrate to Chile or the United States, Brazil, Canada, Peru and Mexico; those countries have many problems migrating to countries such as Uruguay, Paraguay, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Belize, Suriname, Costa Rica and Panama.

If you show up with no skills, little to no education, what do you expect them to do with you? Get a student visa at least. Fix your own countries, you can only run from your problems for so long-and bringing problems with you for others to deal with is no solution. Also why the US? South America as a continent is huge; is there really nowhere else to go there? Central America as well. I don’t want to see children suffering, but what about the children who can’t run away? Fix the problem at the root. Make a better future for all children.

They government, the president in their country they should be ashamed of themselves how they are living, while they people are suffering they should fight, protest, fix their country, unfortunately everyone is running from their countries to come to United States hoping for a better so called better life, not knowing, understanding Americans have their struggles, issues too, this country is not perfect United States doesn’t have the power house that it once use to have, many of us are struggling, surviving, we have inflation, the cost of living is high, rent is high, our taxes is high the pay is low, now we are dealing with migrates, we as taxpayers are paying for they housing, healthcare, food, medicine transportation, etc. I personally think it would have be better to have president Biden to send food, medicine to these countries, immigration should of been done properly, not have open borders which is risky to cross, drugs coming through the borders into United States
