I searched all over RUclips for a very simple video to explain Free Form and you broke it down simplistic. How do time touch or lob passes bc everytime I do it it gives me poor accuracy and if I do anything else but tap it turns into a bullet?

I've watched a lot of videos on free-form passing since I've been away from Madden for so long. Many gave good tips on what to do, but this is the first video that I have seen really explain what to do and why to do it with the consequences for not doing it a certain way. I was in the middle of typing a question on why a lower free-form speed makes the receiver briefly stop/hesitate, but then that was answered later in the video. There are a lot of good videos on mechanics, but this is an excellent tutorial on how the game and animations respond to different settings. I do really wish Instant Replay showed my free-form reticles so that I can check my work to determine if I need to adjust settings.
Been playing Madden consistently since 2001 and I’ve never been interested in free form passing until now. Great video thanks
hey man, I just wanted to say thanks. I came from the old gen (PC) gamer up to the new gen for this Madden and it has been a struggle. I listened to a competitive madden player's setting and he had his reticle speed low and said to do the same. I followed his advice and had the exact problems you mentioned. Thank you so much man. @JoeSimmer Apparently, I had it set like you have but at level 7. I put it up to 14, and it's quite an adjustment. I'm not sure if I should put it something in between until I get used to that.

When you throw a lob or a touch pass how do you time it when free forming cuz I get poor accuracy every time
You're absolutely right on putting the speed over 10. I have been having trouble bombing plain deep streaks! I had my speed at 7 and now I have it at 12, I'm getting better lobd over the top and the WRs getting better catch animations.
I have it on 7 and have no problem throwing streaks or free forming

Do you hold on to L2 once the ball is snapped or once you pass it? And how long do you hold the left analog when you pass on freeform? Please and Thank you
I generally hold LT/L2 right when I know I’m about to pass the ball. There’s generally no correct time after the snap that you have to hold it, just when you’re ready to pass the ball. I would suggest going in practice as he’s doing in this video and just find your timing. Reps are important the more you practice using it experimenting with different throws and what not the more comfortable you’ll be.
I've been told many players using free form, hold LT/L2 as soon as the ball is snapped. That way, it's not even a thought to THEN hold down the button before making the pass
i need help on the difficulty: this is my first madden and if i play on rookie im 35-0 up at halftime, if i play on pro i lose all games
Need to play on all Madden. Thats the only way to get better. The easiest way to beat all Madden is learning the CB coverages. I have multiple videos on reading every defense. Check them out 💯🏆

I think that higher that number is referring to how fast you can move the target icon. The higher the easier it is to get to the outside shoulder and the lower is doesn’t move fast enough so you don’t get those over the shoulder animations because you didn’t get to place it there in time. If that makes sense.

Good old Madden, clear as mud on the details of how to use any of the "new" features. This is precision passing, and it was in Madden in the mid 2000's. The reason why you all are left wondering what the sliders numbers and other numbers do is because in the end, it doesn't matter. Only animations matter.

Depends that was actually a good thing so he didn’t have to run near the out of bounds line if it’s a defender nearby I throw the ball harder to make up for the speed
Good video, I’m gonna practice this. When I throw post routes they almost always get picked off, with the receiver having some separation, I thought maybe the defense was jumping higher this year, but maybe because I wasn’t doing the touch pass, when I tried the high throw the ball goes out of bounds 🤦🏾♂️

When throwing free form, do you also have to hit L1 or LB to toss over the top??? My last game I threw 7 ints 😢😅 sadly I haven't scored in h2h.
To Lob it just tap the receiver icon. I would recommend bullet passing almost everything. That will help. 🏆🥊
This has made me realize: Timing is essential to the QB. It is also essential to the QB WR relationship in real life and Madden. But not only the QB and WR but the team as a whole. How do you achieve this?
If you were to watch an old school football movie such as Wildcats where Goldie Hawn is rugged tough female football coach , you would probably find a scene where the players are doing jumping jacks in rhythm together. Most people including NFL coaches may not realize the importance of this simple very old idea and how important it is. Football is heavily reliant on timing, anticipation, and space. Timing and space you can teach. Anticipation as a QB to see where the receiver will be and throw to that spot is talent.
Getting your offense and defense in sink on an internal clock should be the number one priority on a football team.

Both… if I know I’m rolling out I will wait. But If I’m getting screamed at then I will hold it immediately after the snap.

Classic Mode has been completely nerfed so ppl will use Freeform. EA sabotage classic passing it’s crazy how bad it is.

Yeah it’s either too low a trajectory if you perfect bullet and gets picked off, or an overthrow if you perfect lob 80% of the time in terms of having a step on a streak that’s what I don’t like
@@Est-dh2go I get overthrows on bullet passes and it’ll say poor accuracy when it isn’t. I’m around 40 to 50% but it’s the fact the game is making u miss them bc it’s broken
@WorldKayos to me it balances the game. Without it online games would have guys going 29-31 with 600+ passing yards
Notice how they never show you this working in an actual game or in a MUT mode game? They always show you these things in practice mode. That's because in an actual game, it won't matter. None of it matters. When will you people wake up and realize this? Madden is a terrible product.

Yes you need to hold the button down 95% of the time. So you can bullet pass. Always bullet pass
@JoeSimmer I was trying to speak on throws over the head of defenders when the receiver has stacked the defender. It constantly gets undercut by defenders.

Quite often! Almost every passing play. In terms of madden 24.
In Madden 25 I’ve been going back and forth not sure I think placement is best because offense is so good this year!

Yes but ONLY when I’m looking to throw to a specific area on that play. For instance if I have no timeouts with 40 seconds left I will hold it down as soon as the ball is snapped because I know I’m looking to throw to the side line. Hope this helps 🤟🏻🎸
