    ✅ About jlwii2000:
When I started my channel I did not choose a catchy name because I did not think that I would be a major model railroading video source one day, so I apologize for the strange name. My channel has a variety of info about Model Railroading in many scales, primarily HO scale. I try to respond to everyone's questions to help them along with their journey. Overall, I hope my relaxed yet descriptive approach to modeling will assist those new and old in this great hobby. - James

Man... Atlas's rendition just destroys these. I know they're not in the same price class, but you'd think that Walthers could have at least added the other half of the front railings when they went from Trainline to Mainline.

This is a very bare bones locomotive even for Walthers Mainline. They could've at least added the plow on the front.

When I was in my 30’s, some 30 years ago, I used to love super detailing locomotives, but I just don’t have the patience for it anymore. So many models are out these days with so many details that I’d just soon pay the extra money and add myself what may have been missed.
If I were in my 40’s or so again, I’d probably love it, but not now. I do appreciate that these great models are offered for folks that want to continue doing it all on their own though.
    Great video, James

You should add a chart at the end of each video ranking similar models from different brands. Show weight, pull strength, quantity of sound functions etc.
I think it would drive even more interest in the reviews

I love ESU but this just doesn't sound as good as the GEs i have myself. Id assume they sound pretty similar to the C44s and my Scaletrains sound great. Id probably pay the extra for Atlas versions with ditch lights among other details

Looks like someone carved it out of a bar of soap.

To anyone really wanting an Amtrak dash 8 I’m sorry but don’t get this. Just wait for the Atlas dash 8s, it’ll come with actual loksound V5, proper detailing and will sound a bit better than Walthers.

This would look good in a backshop being extensively being worked on! I'm good; I'll pass! I'm just waiting for Atlas to release their version! Walthers time and time again cheats itself out of a potentially good model!
No ditch lights, no cab interior, no thanks!

Horrible. I understand the concept of Walthers mainline, but I would never buy this. Then I work a bit more and pay a few €$ more so I can get so much more for my money
