It's interesting, I follow a lot of readers/channels and everyone's theme is "Ending people pleaseing" like the collective is purging this from every sector spirituality besides Christianity, which says sacrifice and work for the good of others, and that selfish works bear no lasting fruit. I feel both are required. The semantics are key. How I define how I will be of service to others through being of service to myself...

I have found with the bible, that the words are literature to a large extent. The interpretation is up to us. If we decide that "self-love" = selfishness", then that is how we have interpreted it. I consider "people pleasing" to mean going out of your way to please others at the expense of your own happiness. In other words, failing to honor your own personal boundaries to please other people. This can be a self sabotage pattern. Not everyone has your best interest at heart. Service to others does not mean sacrificing your own well being. From a spiritual aspect, being kind to people, "do unto others...". harm no one... Love is the highest vibration etc. These are all principles equivalent to what you will find in Christianity or "religion". Honoring and worshipping God by spiritual practices does equate to eliminating righteousness.

Yeah, if the universe hadn't 'swapped' me and my mentally ill father's identity and destiny, there would be no 'low self worth, self sacrifice, people pleasing'. Not only that, but the minute it 'swapped' us, was the minute it started punishing me for 'my father's' sins, no patience or divine timing needed.
