Caught them in 1990 at their peak . Geoff Tates voice and the dual attack of Chris Degarmo and Michael Wilton’s guitars backed by Eddies HUGE bass and Scott Rockenfields drums was an almighty sonic assault . Those two albums Mindcrime and Empire were outstanding . Great lesson my man . ROCK ON and god bless you and may the spirit of EVH shine down on us inspiring our licks 🙏🏻
Man! This song could be heard from my car a block away, when I was a teenager! Thanks for teleporting me to past Mike! Good times! One of these days, I've got to pick up my guitar, again.
Awesome lesson and excellent vibe with the be kind or you can't comment. Thanks so much for the lesson I've racked my brain for years trying to get this one.
Mike, you are SO badass! Hearing those opening notes gave me chills like the first time I heard this on the radio! Took me back to high school! (Edit) it seems I've said this before, a while back and forgot.... but it's still true. Maybe I'm getting Alzheimer's? 😄
Dude, I remember when you bought that guitar. I think we were in the guitar center in San Diego? I can't remember which one it was, but I remember you buying it brand new. I think the whole band was there that day, if I'm not mistaken. Which means it might have been that time we went to the GC in Hollywood.
awesome tutorial, i just needed to see it played full speed once and i got it, excellent work and thank you. great song. was looking for tabs but i knew they were wrong, as usual.
I got a chance to see Queensryche last year athe Soundstage in Baltimore. They only played like two songs from Condition Human but I think it is an epic album.. They kind of went back to their roots on it. Sometimes you have to listen to an album many times before you appreciate it. I think that this is one of those albums
Hey Mike, excellent detailed lesson from one of my favorite bands!!! Would you you be willing to do a lesson on Suite Sister Mary? It's my favorite track off Operation: Mindcrime. I know most of the clean intro but I'm a little lost on the parts where the verse goes "Mary my lady of pain, always alone" etc. Chris Degarmo's spider man chords get a little lost in the mix. It would be amazing to see a correct lesson on this incredible song!!! thankx bro!!!
do you think there's any way I can improvise the tricky cord? if I only played with the first too fingers without the pinky it doesn't have the high sounds obviously do you think there's anyway I could somehow fit a high pitch into it to make it sound closer the real deal? in the mean time while I practice stretching me fingers hahahaha

That was bad-ASS!!!
+Josh Lambert thanks :)
Wow it's a lot harder than I thought it was going to be that's some serious guitar acrobats going on there

if I somehow manage to fit my finger to the 6th fret on E
nvm I think that's even harder then the original
Great
Mike, what distortion are you using here? Thanks!
mesa boogie
Queensryche please my friend and thank you .
amazing
You made a very good attempt. Not bad, but it’s a hard song. Every song from OMC is extremely technical and challenging.
ITS GREAT
Lightning Strikes Again Dokken
Hall of the Mountain King Savatage
Damn find job on that one
This is next after your Queensryche The Lady Wore Black Lesson video...........
what is that chord called???
Could you please do "A living breathing piece of defecating meat" by Cattle Decap? It would be awesome if you could.
i don't think that's in his wheelhouse.. maybe it's because i mostly come across his video because i'm looking for 80s metal
i just wish i had foot swich knowledge how to go loud and then clear but at the same damn volume
Queen of the Reich!!
on the and after the 4 count
no not the right spot
i thought i made that b9 up
