Oh, he is clueless, that mining with a stick then with a stone ax totally lack of a lot of knowledge of basic minecraft mechanics. Him screwing with his friends is just fucking them over or trying to ruin any accomplishments they do cause that's content. Beside backroom games he does this for content and that's why who sees these clips in droves

He spaces out a lot, a lot of people think he's baked in some of his vids as well, combine the two and you get moments where you'd think his iq is like 60 lmao
@@taptiotrevizo9415 I feel like Evan has this thing where he doesn't believe he's going to return to a game, and when he does it's usually some time after the original. But when he is consistent on a game, he learns alot from it (aka the doomsday contraption, or even him actually admitting he was addicted for an entire week)
But when he leaves said game for a while- using minecraft as the example again- he does seem to genuinely forget how to play or make basic tools.
I love that when he’s confused it mainly affects his friends and not him
I still remember that one human fall flat video where they had to take turns just holding onto him so he didn't screw stuff up while others did the puzzle. That was way too good.

Y'know considering Evan's videos it's surprisingly easy to forget that Evan is not a gamer, he grew up with sports and music, not video games. So seeing him struggle with remembering things about the games he's playing actually makes a surprising amount of sense

Vanoss is smarter than he acts and looks, so I think he's just pretending to mess with his friends, but occasionally is clueless.
