I've recently fallen in love with shaker furniture and architecture. Thanks for the tour.

Check out traditional craft furniture that the Shakers had based their furniture on. Old english furniture styles and methods.
Have you seen Paul Sellers work?

I would love to visit a Shaker Village. My 7xGGrandfather was a Shaker. He was Dutch. He lived in Kentucky at a Village after the Revolutionary War.

Norm Abrams went to this village to duplicate a piece. The song at the beginning reminds me of a prison somewhere, back in the pre-war era. Bwoohayyaa! Spooky.

Can you tell me, do Shakers believe in inspiration or visions?

Your newel post wear logic is wrong. Stair newel posts and railings are usually worn more on the right side as most people are right handed and older people usually use hand rails more to climb stairs compared to descending stairs. The wear has nothing to do with gender.
