I've seen her LIVE, and she is VERY inclusive with the audience, singers, band, and EVERYONE involved in the process. Even though we as the audience come to give her the praises, love, and flowers, Ms. Anita Baker is often also doing the same thing for everyone who is there and supporting her. It's simply because a lot of people do not know her story, nor have knowledge about the challenges and traumas that she's had to face alone. Ms. Anita Baker acknowledges those very things, which is why she embraces everyone and the genuine love and support that's given to her, and is there for her. People don't know that her fellow singers and band, are also her family and also part of the show. Because they are often there as support and in the show, they often don't get a chance to either admire her as an audience member, nor do they get the opportunity to perform individually for her, without her. THIS is how she gives them that, and it's also how she reminds us, the audience, to do the same and appreciate THE ENTIRE family that she also cherishes.🙏🏽💜

And the setup is distracting, They're on risers, with a kind of wall in front of them. There are much more creative and appealing ways to stage this.

I absolutely love Anita Baker! She is one of the best R&B singers of our time. However I wish she would just sing and stop playing band director. Some of the antics like asking for more bass to the sound guy looks very unprofessional cause that should have been taken care of at sound check not at in the middle of her show. I get the feeling that she thinks that looks cute! IT DOES’NT! Just sing with your beautiful voice and don’t try and show us your tech skills..
Anita has been doing shows this exact same way for literally decades now . She’s a legend with one of the best voices that ever touched a mic , no need for antics .
