Well....sooo fascinating to watch. I have watched a significant amount of vids on working with this medium, all with instructions but really this one imparts so much more about how the artist thinks in constructing the composition bringing it to life. I'm trying so very hard to do this,I just got my pencils, and am loving them, but there is so much to learn ,I'm watching all the tutorials I can because I really want to be good at it, my daughter says my work is good ,but I don't see that yet, but I'll never stop using them ,I absolutely love them.I love doing landscapes ,especially ,anything with mountains, and beach senses, I live on a beach coast, and draw and paint them all the time ,I've always used watercolors ,but I'm having great fun with my ,pencils ,this person makes me hopeful that I really will master these pencils.

wonderful. Thank you for letting us watch. I have two questions: 1. the blue of the shadows strikes me as awfully vivid. Could it be more purple /mauve? 2. I’m in two minds about the texture of the water. I get that it’s rippled and lightly agitated, but it looks grainy more than anything else. Could it be smoother, while still preserving the tonal details? I love how you suggest the breakers.
yes... i agree with you. I didn't understand the blue shadow, and the water was a little grainy...but the set turned out really nice.

When do you add water?
I was wondering the same thing. I have watercolor pencils and I was excited to do a beach scene, but these seem like regular colored pencils to me! Mine you paint with water over the pencil...
