bang bang and his love of the westerns a great character of old dublin every time I watch cowboy movies he comes into my thoughts
My mother used to bring me and my sister shopping in Meath Street in the sixties. I just met him once. We were children and my mother got us to shake hands with Bang Bang. This was what all the parents did at the time. I remember Ma being delighted with the opportunity. We knew who he was. I was very small. My memory of that moment is that his hands seemed cold. He was probably quite old at the time.
I'm from Manchester and heard about Bang Bang shooting his as a kid as he got off the bus. He was born on the Ross Road and always saw bang Bang. The MINUTE I saw his mural just off the Liffey I hadn't realised I had forgotten all about Bang Bang. But I recognised it immediately.
Very few left of the original characters like that in the Liberties. Thank God Meath street hasn't been taken over (yet) by bleedin VAPE SHOPS and lebara mobile places, my god.
They got rid of the mural unfortunately
@@paulmcgrath6118 that's sacrilegious.
