Christopher Reeve appearing on Smallville was a highlight. A passing of the torch from one Superman to another. Rosetta transformed the show into something bigger.

Christopher Reeves appearance was so special. Margot Kidder's remark to Martha Kent, when she was asked about her relationship with Dr. Swann, was priceless, when said yes in another life time.
When I saw Mr. Reeve in Smallville, I knew right then that I would follow the show until the end (and I did). The man who made us believe a man could fly. ❤❤ If you read this and you have not seen Somewhere in time, it's the best performance of Mr. Christopher Reeve I have ever seen ❤
I was going to say, I would not be surprised if Christopher Reeve did the show for free. Rosetta is one of the episodes I return to when the cares of the world start to close in on me. It always leaves me with a good feeling. Also, it was through the PSA that I ended up with 14 of the "Go Forward" Superman tag sets. I have given 11 of them away. I have written the foundation (and have donated) to see if they could have a second run of the tags. I think 1000 tags would see out in a week.
I think it set a great precident for keeping the actors and actresses who have portrayed characters in these universes in the past in mind when casting and thanks to that we get so many great moments throughout this series and the Arrowverse I believe it inspired.
It was a huge moment for me as a fan of Superman to see Christopher Reeves acting again. Superman was meant to be the best of us, and Mr. Reeves certainly portrayed an optimistic hero.
I am really enjoying these clips and interviews and stories. I watched all 10 seasons with my boys. Hearing the Williams Krypton theme, and seeing Chris Reeves appearing, were awesome moments.
Yes, the interweaving of Williams' theme with the TV show's music was great. And the writers also gave Reeve some great dialog which included phrases from the first Superman movie.

That's Was A, Lot To Have For Christopher Reeve To Be Asked For Cameo In Smallville Season 2 Let's Thank Al The Writer And, Directer Of Tom Welling's Superman Origin Show I Saw This Interview On, Talkville Podcast Rosetta Episode Review
Tom stated when Chris gave his endorsement of Tom playing the role that he made famous. Tom informed Chris that he just portraying Clark Kent. Chris replied, you are Superman. I agree that Tom Welling should have continue as Clark Kent/Superman in movies. I have nothing against Brandon or Henry of playing Man of Steel, but Chris Reeve saw something in Tom's talent as Clark Kent/Superman. By the way, new actor who will play Man of Steel in Gunn's Superman's Legacy...wait and see!
I'm glad he appeared in Smallville, that's what truly legitimized Smallville and Tom Welling's portrayal. Don't get me wrong, I loved Smallville from the pilot on, but when Chris Reeves appeared I was like OH SHIT!!! I already thought it was super cool Martha Kent was the original Lana Lang.
This needed to be more . I wanted to hear about their conversation with him more . Reeves was a beautiful part in the story being a secret admirer in his seasons . Think your creators holding back the rich ‘ to busy with Wednesday I understand
Those were my favorite episodes for sure with Christopher Reeve! Would’ve been crazy if they managed to get Gene Hackman in some sort of role as well like Lex’s uncle or something.
I remember an actor or writer for the show was saying that the character reeve played was supposed to be Jor El as a twist. Explaining why Krypton was so special to him. And that he was trying to find survivors. And his son survived
I heard that they were planning to reveal Chris' character as having been Jor-El the entire time. But Chris died before they could do that, so the writers decided to have Lionel Luthor murder Dr. Swann offscreen. I can only imagine the reaction to the revelation that Jor was still alive had Chris lived. How they would explain Jor's paralysis, however, I have no clue.
I'm confused. Christopher agreed to take on the role but wanted a donation to his foundation. I'm sure it wasn't that much money but it took them four months to decide who would pay?
Tv shows don’t get a lot of money since they have to make 20, 40 minute episodes. That’s like 6 2 hour movies. It’s also not going to make as much money as a movie either.
This particular episode is always a core episode it will always be the moment in television history where a mantel of an iconic character was seen to come together though Chris played a very different part it always seems he was just a different version of Clark Kent in the same respects to the character he was playing Professor Swan looked like Clark Kent and in some ways in the comic's this character did resemble Clark to though a bit older. The series and episode was a real cornerstone and it was just great to see the two actors together for fans of Superman this was a fantastic idea worth the time it took to create this opportunity of an excellent series that has become an everlasting legacy. To Chris Reeves, the man was the best Superman ever you sore with the angels forever
Couldnt they go to chris to shoot his scenes? I heard they do that now. Chris was travelling a lot. I know he lived in ny but was all over speaking out . I always wondered how he would fly in a plane. Im surpised his agent played such hard ball. Maybe chris required a lot if he was gonna be there over a couple days.
hearing Lex going "what the fuck is it gonna take to make this happen!?" is soo surreal. Imagine him saying that in Smallville "Clark, here's a jeep." no my dad wont let me. "What the fuck Clark? take the fucking jeep man!"
"Have Chris and Margo not share a scene together and no one bats an eye. Have the same be true for the _Star Wars_ legacy characters in the sequel trilogy and everyone loses their minds!"
Well Margo Kidder is a nobody. Reeve isn't anything outside of Superman. Neither of the two were the first to play those parts, and the parts had been played before and after by better actors.
Christopher Reeve will always be my tier one Superman. Tom is my tier one Clark but I guess that's easy since he did it for so long. I also like Brandon Routh as Superman and Clark. Wasn't his fault that script and the whole vision of that movie was trash. That Lex Luther stuff was stupid! Also don't discount Terrance Stamp as Jor'El! Tier one Zod! Stamp and Reeve to me will never be reached.
