I'd like more of this content. I still refer back to your comprehensive arrow building video. The attention to detail and depth of the content you put out is super helpful.
My son who is 44 now, has been shooting a custom ordered Hoyt bow for 15 years now.He loves the Hoyt bow, and has much success using it to hunt.He too, is a strong guy with the power to pull that 90 pound bow.Lots of big bucks hanging on his basement wall.He is very respectful of the sport and he put lots of time into bowhunting properly, ethically. He also "doesn't "pay to hunt at hunting camps that guarantee you a deer...He hunts the hard way...in nature, just him and his Hoyt
Josh just a heads up, APA makes a bow that goes up to 100 lbs. they also have a lot of ingenuity built in to the bow with over 25 different widgets you can add. Knife sharpener, nock turner, broad head tightener, built in bow winch for pulling up after your in the tree stand, and many more. They are also designed to be able to work on your bow wherever you are with the cam pin to be able to lock your bow and release the tension of your strings to fix anything that may need fixed wherever you are. Just thought I would let you know about them. I have been shooting APA for 5 years now and am absolutely in love with them and they perform with the top bow companies.
Yes more please this type of video not only is helpful for other people but it shows the a side of you people don't get to see a lot the true archery need that lives in us hardcore guys. Showing that your a regular good ol boy from oh goes a long way with people like myself thanks for all you do 🏹
Off topic sort of. My buddy gave me a 2.3 beast to try. Smacked a hog and it wasn’t 20 seconds maybe and it was dispatched. The cut was insane. So much so I went the next day and bought three packs. Good job Josh. Amazing Broadhead man.
I started anchoring underneath my chin and my shots are super accurate. One thing I noticed is that anchoring underneath your chin aligns everything. From the arrow tip to your release, everything is straight. Completely eliminates any left-right axis play. Plus it gives you a solid anchor point allowing you to move without throwing anything off balance. Plus, instead of having the release practically upside down using a cheek anchor, it's flat in your hand minimizing any string movement and D loop torque. I won't shoot any other way now.
Out of all of the bows that I’ve shot, my favorite was the prime Nexus 6. And I’m sold on how awesome and dead in the hand this bow felt for me. Just really really liked it.
My pse omen at 80lbs and 30 shoots 610 grain arrow 294fps. The same speed but 80lbs and short draw length. It’s actually under performing but Hoyt was never know for speed.
Real review! So glad to see your real abt sponsorship stuff. I’ve always advocated to shoot what feels right. Thanks for a solid review. This was a great piece of content! It’s not weird at all us bow junkies love it
These videos are great man!!! Honestly, I wish you would make ALOT more of this type video, not just for hunting but training/nutrition as well... these are awesome!!!
More like this!!! Tuning, draw back techniques, etc. I’d love to see your shooting routine like how many arrows a session do you shoot? Do you start short & then go long then back short? Stuff like that. Would love to see how you practice
Absolutely your set up and tune vids would be great. Alot of people do them yes but good to see what people do to weed out all the other things people do.
You know I'm 58 years old now, I've been a carpenter all my life. I've been shooting a compound for about 25 years now 60 to 65 pounds. Last summer I shot traditional,40 lbs, all summer. Picked up a PSE stinger x. 70 lbs max. I maxed it out and pull was EASY! Took it to a shop they said yep 70 lbs. So just saying try trad and up your pull dramatically.
Anything u post I will watch man lol . But I love the practical every day bow hunter tid bits thou and at home stuff I can learn to do myself instead of running to a shop left n right .
Clear water built a bow comustom for a buddy of mine years ago was 110 lbs . He shot it like that all the time . Targets had hard time stoping the arrows . Only problem was 8 months in riser broke bout took him out . He was in hospital for 6 months . It broke sounded like a car wreck
Not too long of a video at all !I would love to hunt with a 80 lb bow never mind a 90 lol. When you get up there in age you want save what you have left of your shoulders so 65 lbs is good for me!You can't go wrong with a hoyt ,most companies are making awesome bows right now.
I have a 94lb draw weight elite impulse 31 that I don’t hunt with lol. It was 80lbs, limbs cracked, replaced under warranty, new limbs draw 94lbs lol. Super weird but the bow is completely in tune, no twisted cables, just really stiff limbs. That happened in 2021 and I have even shot the bow since.
Dude the omen is prolly the most under rated bow ever. I’m shooting 80lbs at 30” and 500grain arrows 320fps. But it’s very forgiving for a 5 3/4 bh. Looks like pse doesn’t sell it anymore tho
Any tips and tricks are helpful. Maybe a video of doing adjustments at home. Poundage, draw length, peep sight movements all of the good stuff would help a ton as I am new to this myself and I am trying to train my 2 children
Only 3 people? I worked with hoyt and got a 97# bow. Granted the cables were a touch short. The most amazing thing is these Hoyts draw so nice that it drew super easy. Felt better than my old mathews lift at 75-80# by far.
I’m beginning to question if faster is better. Increasing velocity increases drag (through any medium). I’m glad Josh is increasing his mass. Just 40+ more grains!
I like these videos also. My Mathews v3x33 weighs a little over 8lbs and I agree it holds so much better but my hunting buddy likes them light. To each his own😂😂 0:15
We love the gear vids!!! 90lbs!??? Why not 100😂 lol that’s awesome. If Hoyt sold those to the general population, I think they’d fly off the shelves. Awesome video!!!!
Pfff only 90lbs? Light work pal! Should be pulling at least 110lb with 35lbs holding weight. Thats what REAL men shoot. But I didn’t expect anything less from you😅😉😄. On a real note appreciate the work and effort you and Sarah put in these videos! Good luck this year to the BOTH of you!!
Well from chat GPT your KE is actually 158.89 not 120. DAMN. So I just bought a ol mission Ballistic for $100 cpl yrs ago and I maxed it so it's sitting around 65lbs pull 24.70ish inch arrow w/ field point is 322 gr shoots 326fps with a KE of 102.88 (chatgpt) 30" draw. Was just a test I had to try and it's dang accurate gotta paper tune though. Arrow kicks left a bit. neat numbers . Great video.
Blood still on the fletching in the quiver 😂 my man its the little things like smelling the blood or tasting it on the track keep grinding never stop best of love from maine.
I have your peep tuner and nose button but with good strings you dont need that peep tuner I tried the gas ghost strings they where ok then a few years back I found JBK bowstrings and his strings blow gas out of the water set your peep and thousands of shots later no peep issues..
So what’s the pros/cons to 4 fletch vs the pros/cons to 3 fletch? I’ve been shooting bows since I was 10 and I’m 18 now but I’ve Always just done what my dad told me to do. But now I want to question and choose what’s best for me.

I have the Hoyt alpha x 30 80lb bow and it messed up and Hoyt sent it back at 83.2 lbs. I haven’t touched it and I shoot a 445 grain arrow and it shoots 321fps. Them hoyts are fast
What arrow length do you go with? I have a 32” draw length and my arrow setup is 616 grains @18% foc. I’m only get around 275fps though. Would love to get a higher poundage bow to increase my speed.
what Im wondering is why everyone seems to use the larks head /cow hitch knot for D-loops; why not use a constrictor knot?? its similar in size and force direction on bowstring but waaay more secure
117 is your KE Josh. Your momentum is .8 Slugs. Momentum is the unit of measurement I find more impressive. Last year, I filled my tags with an arrow that had 92.6 KE and .87 slugs of momentum just for the fun of it, but I will not give you the bow or arrow specs. I like your arrow build videos.
I'd like more of this content. I still refer back to your comprehensive arrow building video. The attention to detail and depth of the content you put out is super helpful.

I love the honesty about bow brands!!

I enjoyed your tuning and arrow build videos of the past.

290 fps with a 600+ grain arrow is diabolical.

@@Chasintail11 awesome, I feel like PSE's always fast.
@@C-23_ yup but their fast bows hadn’t always been forgiving in the past. Their new speed bows are crazy forgiving for me out to 100 yards.

Love all your stuff Josh. Would greatly appreciate a video where you demonstrate your most beneficial aiming drills.
Absolutely your set up and tune vids would be great. Alot of people do them yes but good to see what people do to weed out all the other things people do.
That is a hammer. 610gr at 290fps. Wow!
He has a long draw, too.. Bonus
The pse omen is faster at 80lbs. It’s actually slow for 90lbs
THANK YOU! I’ve been waiting for this video! Awesome set up
I think all of us want to see more bow building/tuning videos Josh ❤
Yeah man I say keep them coming I’d love to learn more about tuning bows!

Absolute beast of a bow and arrow setup.
Nice rig! I shoot a 90lb apa king cobra and 720 grain arrows. @280 fps. Love heavy poundage bows to shoot heavy arrows fast
