It is a cover! Originally done by Black Sabbath when Dio joined the band in 1980! The original off of the album had an acoustic finish just using the guitar. Liliac inserted the flute. If you check out the original you'll see. That's probably why you get the 80'svibe. This version was more intense than the original album cut from Sabbath!
You want something more subtle, check there original “Sail Away” or even their cover of Ozzy and Lita Ford’s “Close My Eyes Forever”. And the best, IMHO, the opening lines that Melody sings in their cover of Dio’s “The Last In Line”. Those should cover what yer look’n for. Enjoy! Fang4life! RO&RH! 🤘😎🤘
This tribute cover of an 80s DIO/BLACK SABBATH SONG was revived brilliantly by this band of extremely talented young people, and in my opinion, is better than the original version that I have seen . Liliac have done what tyey always do, take a classic rock/metal song, and adapt it to their line-up of instruments always staying true to the original spirit of it, and with Suttle differences ,make it their own . They have managed to do this so well , that their ( sound ) is instantly recognisable as a Liliac song . They have a whole playlist of original songs that will give you variety from heavy metal to soft rock ballads, truly deserving of future reactions . FANG4LIFE RORH
This song highlights how mature that great voice has gotten. I see Melody's "crushed diamonds on velvet" vocals just getting better and better in the next couple of years. Frankly I was very surprised that you didn't recognize a Black Sabbath song, but I guess not everybody does. You should listen to the original now to do a fair comparison. BTW if you want subtle, try "Somber Cry" where Sam does the verse and Melody does the chorus. It's a thinker for sure. Thanks for your reaction. RORH

Keep in mind, that when Dio later as a solo career....used a keyboard in his band

If you want something low key. Listen to Hey There Child. The final track off the Madness album. It is just audio.
May i recommend checking out a few of their Originals such as "Dancing In The Dark", "Nothing" and or "Mystery".
It would remind alot of people of a Black Sabbath song called Heaven and Hell from the start of the 80s.

I have been surprised how many reactors don't know it's a cover.
@@mikecullers Right? Which sorta makes the reaction a bit disappointing since they don't know how fantastic Liliac does it.

@cristyrawks6325 I love your crushed diamonds reference to Melody's voice it's very apt . RORH
@@tomwareham7944 Thanks...when I first came up with it, I posted it on a Livestream they had and Melody loved it.
Great cover ❤
Now go and listen to Black Sabbath's album Heaven and Hell. Tony Iommi is the master of this song, the whole album will blow you away it's that good.
♥️
She's so beautiful and the band is the best in the world.
