Steve DeKnight here (yes, that guy -- and you said my name correctly!). This was such a joy to watch. I haven't revisited the show in many years, and seeing it through the lens of a first-time viewer was really something special. Thank you so much for your kind words. It really means a lot to all of us who worked so hard on the show. And it was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul, Andy Whitfield. A true hero who shall forever be missed.
Holy sh!t!
Big fan, @Steve DeKnight, Spartacus is one of my favorite shows ever, and Daredevil is the best thing Marvel's ever done
@@chrisleebowers Thanks! Much appreciated!
My hat off to you, Sir. This was truly one of the most epic and fantastic shows I have ever watched. After I binged this season (when it came out) I immediately set to organising a watch with my father and he loved it as much as I did. It was really a special time that I won't forget. The ending of this season is unparalleled in my humble opinion.
Regarding Andy. We were heartbroken when we found out what happened to him. He truly was the heart and soul of the show. What a performance! I really have to say that Liam did a wonderful job in the end and he was great in War of the Damned (after he had settled into the role). But oh it was so painful to imagine what could have been...
One question if you wouldn't mind. Was it true that there was an intention to have a longer series if Andy pulled through?
Regardless. Thank you for this wonderful gift of a show. Know that it is not forgotten and you (and Andy + the rest of the wonderful cast) have some lifelong fans from this.
Another huge fan here! This is still one of the best and most inspiring shows I've ever seen and I re-watch it annually! Thank you for creating something that has become such a major part of my life and impacted me so much! You and everyone else who worked on this show truly did an incredible job.
Shoutout to you and all the creators and people who acted in this series. I was late to the game but watch this series at least once a year. I dont want to spoil things but your tribute to Andy later on was beautiful.
John Hannah played Batiatus so perfect. Such a true villain where you both hate him and love him. RIP to Andy. He is forever immortalized. I AM SPARTACUS!! 💪🏼
He is a true roman, he was ambitious, acted like a true roman for his ambition he also had some moments where he showed he could be generous but his ambition came first...dude was like the way of the roman hahahaah
Feel exactly the same way about the last scene with Andy. The Bringer of Rain, The Slayer of Theocolies, touched everyone who watched this show.
Theokoles
@@15blackshirt Ya, I was to lazy to hit up IMDB. Ha! 😁
Spartacus, Bringer of Rain - Andy, Bringer of Tears.
Glorious!! Can’t wait for your reaction to Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, Vengeance and War of the Damned!
I actually thought Gods of the Arena was the least best season of the bunch
@@jordangibbish7701 tbh i skipped the whole season lol
@@MythEdge_ why would You do that? It’s an important backstory for several characters
@@rickoofable yeah i kinda screwed up when i watched season 3 i was like "whos gannicus???"
@MythEdge_ gannics Is the fuckin man that who lol
The combination of Andy's story in true life, along with Spartacus' and Varro's friendship in the show, is enough to give any grown man pause. Ash, seeing you be moved by Varro's sacrifice made that episode reaction ten times better. Stay true, my mad ass badass brother!
My brother! Cannot tell you how much this comment means to me, love you mate ❤️
Ugh you made me cry!! I love your reactions. You’re so invested and I appreciate you so much. Spartacus has always held a special place in my heart. It has always been my sleeper series. It’s extremely underrated. I will say this.... Andy was Spartacus. The shoes that had to be filled were astronomical when they needed someone else. Liam McKentyre did Andy justice. I can’t imagine the pressure he had. He isn’t Andy but he did a damn good job. Keep going!! This series changes ur life!!!
RIP Andy! Great actor and great reaction! Cant wait for Gods of the Arena! You should also watch the documentary Be Here Now, its about Andy and his fight against cancer. He was a real warrior battling cancer.
I feel like Ash and I would b best friends if I ever meet him
17:09 Crixus: Ashurrrrrr
Broly: Kakorotttt
Yeah and he was much better than the actor that replaced him.. new guy was too small body wise as well imo.
@@mikemarc92 Nah Liam was good and actually Andy picked him so your saying Andy has no taste? 😊
@@alexvasquez6793 No doubt that Andy might have picked the “best possible option”.. I’m simply saying he’s no Andy and was too small of a guy to embody Spartacus imo
@@mikemarc92 I get that Andy and Liam have different styles true but they both played Spartacus amazingly and wym too small?
I watched Spartacus as it was coming out, so I kinda went through what you are going through right now as it was happening. When Andy passed I was devastated and I really thought there was no point watching the show anymore, or that it would be disrespectful to watch it. But then I watched the documentaries on the show and I watched Andy's Be Here Now documentary (of his journey with cancer until his last days). And I realized he would have wanted his fans to watch the show to the end, to support the work his friends were still putting forward to continue his legacy. So I watched it. It was totally weird at first, seeing another man being called Spartacus and even weirder when he called himself that. But after a while I started to appreciate Liam's portrayal of Spartacus more and more. What I realized is that Spartacus changed quite a bit as a character. After the ludus has fallen, he becomes more than the champion of Capua or a husband seeking revenge. He becomes a leader. A provider. He has many lives he must care for and protect. It would have been amazing to watch Andy explore these other sides to Spartacus, but Liam did an incredible job in continuing Andy's legacy and I feel strongly that Andy blesses it from the afterlife. So what I would say to you is, enjoy it without guilt. By watching and rewatching the show we honor Andy. We honor the journey he started us on and we keep his work and his legacy alive. And I promise you, the show does not disappoint. It is truly one of the best, most well rounded tv shows ever made. I hope to continue watching your reactions to the following seasons.
You couldn’t of worded that any better mate! Appreciate this Beautiful comment, yes I will for sure finish the rest ❤️ love you mate
he was alive when this had come out, they made the prequel while Andy was in treatment, hoping he might be well so they might continue with a season 2...sadly, like cancer almost always do, it came back with a vengeance :(
If I ever get it and if I get "cured" I would still go to the doc every week to check my self, never wait a few months as then you will be dead :(
I watched the documentary too.
Very emotional.
He was well loved and fought like a hero till the end.
Love the show so much ❤
Andy left us a masterpiece. Next up Spartacus season 2 and 3, even more emotional seasons. It’ll take a bit to get use to somebody else taking Andy’s mantle but you won’t regret it.
Andy was incredible. His portrayal of Spartacus will never be duplicated. He carried the show with every ounce of his character and talent. He will be forever etched in my heart as a driving force to be a good man. I sometimes wish that in another life, he may have been my brother.
R.I.P Andy
That being said, please do not sleep on the rest of the show. The actors who worked with Andy felt the same way we do about him and went on to Honor Andy by stepping up and making 2 of the most incredible seasons of any series ever. My brother, you will have to Honor Andy by continuing on with the same energy you bring us on every reaction. As Andy did every day and every moment he was on screen. I loved season 2 and season 3 is actually my favorite. Looking forward to the rest of this journey with you, My Brother!
So true, I was skeptical when the second season came out, and it does feel wrong in the beginning, it takes a while for you to truly accept it. But after a while you will notice the passion that Liam McIntyre puts into the role and he really does an incredible job of it. The final episode of the series is so insanely good, it would be such a shame to stop at season 1.
That being said, I do agree that a break can be a good thing, as it makes the jarring change in actor perhaps less of a hit. Seeing Gods of the Arena before season 2 is also required in my opinion. It gives you so much more backstory that I feel is essential for season 2 and 3.
@@Merwanor Agree with every word
His acting was average to put it lightly.
@@Merwanorliam got better as it went on, but he never brought the character to life the way andy did. spartacus went from having the strongest actor to one of the weakest.
liam just felt like he was up on stage giving speeches, which breaks the immersion at times, but i was always fully immersed with andy's portrayal of spartacus. i've seen many people say liam did just as good, but i honestly can't understand how they can believe that.
i still love every season, because there are so many great characters, but season 1 will always be my favorite. in season 2 i often imagine how the scenes would be even better if andy were still playing spartacus, especially the scenes with him and glaber.
this is already my favorite series ever, but it could have been so much better. if andy had lived, not only would seasons 2 and 3 be better, but there would be 4 more seasons. the director said this was originally intended to be at least 7 seasons, but they cut it short after andy's death.
i will never be able to stop thinking about what could have been. 7+ seasons of spartacus with andy playing spartacus throughout the entire series. it would be twice as good as it already is. so sad that we didn't get that.
@@azazello1784yeah, i can't understand how so many people say he was equal to or nearly equal to andy. it wasn't even close. especially in the first half of season 2, his acting broke my immersion.
he got a little better as it went on, but he remained one of the weakest actors throughout the series. thankfully there were still so many other great actors to carry seasons 2 and 3.
I totally understand your reaction, my guy. I've watched first season the moment it was out, couldn't wait to see the next one and I was gutted when I heard the news that Andy has passed away all of a sudden. Such a loss, I have no doubt he had a very bright future as an actor, probably would become elite. One of the most emoitional series seasons in TV history. RIP
Awww the emotion at the end was so real 😢 I feel it too he gave a once in a lifetime performance as Spartacus & will always be in our hearts 💔
I know how you feel about Andy. Spartacus season 1 is probably my favourite season of Tv ever, and the finale is probably one of the best episodes of TV ever. Andy was magnetic and I was devastated when he died, as he was on the brink of breaking out in the mainstream. I didn’t want to see the other seasons, and it took time for me to warm to Liam McIntyre. But he grew into the role, and season 4 ‘War of the Damned’ he made the character his own, and delivered on the promise of Andy to give us a fantastic season. RIP Mr Whitfield.
i bought the whole series on dvd years after it aired and didn't even know andy had passed away. when i first saw spartacus in season 2 i thought "who the hell is that supposed to be?" imo spartacus went from having one of the strongest actors to probably the weakest of the main characters. thankfully there are so many other amazing characters and even the final 2 seasons top any other series for me.
did you know they originally intended this series to be 7 seasons long before andy passed? after his passing they shortened it. just imagine how amazing this series would be if there were 7+ seasons, all with andy playing spartacus. i almost wish i never learned that, because it's pretty painful knowing what we missed out on.
Man God bless you and your respect for Andy. Really appreciate how dedicated you are to this show. Lots of people judge it as just some cheap action and nudity schlock, but they're genuinely missing out on some cracking writing talent and thoroughly entertaining acting.
Stay passionate brother
Yes, the writing is unparalleled!
Jesus. Good shit, Ash. I was right there with you when I watched this final ep. Celebrate him, celebrate the actor, celebrate the way his art made you feel, and incorporate that into your life. That's all we can do.
YES MATE! LOVE THIS COMMENT..Love you mate!!
Do yourself, and us, a favour by watching Gods of the Arena next. It was Goddamned brilliant! You will meet some new people that you are going to absolutely love! You will also discover Batiatus' backstory.
It's basically a pre requisite for watching season 2 anyway given some of the plot lines directly entangle with GotA.
also great back stories for crixus, ashur, aenomeus, and naevia.
@@mnomadvfx Exactly. The doctore's unfinished business makes more sense if you know what it is!
It’s been amazing to see your reactions to through this series. Awesome to see someone who actually reacts. There’s so many ”reactors” on youtube that don’t even show a single emotion, but you’re great to watch. Thank you!
I really hope you decide to watch every season of Spartacus in the future. It doesn’t have the same feeling or depth as the first season, but it’s still really good and I think you’ll enjoy it.
I will do my brother..Jupiter will bless me with the same energy to continue it! Thank you for the support throughout this series mate, means everything to me ❤️
I see Jupiter's monumental member has shined its brilliance upon us with this glorious reaction : D
🤣
best series finale of any show ever, I have not found any show that has such a satisfying season end like Spartacus season 1.
I have watched hundreds of tv shows, and not one, even the very best, have such a great season finale like this
You would love the prequel series. Gannicus is a true G
Love the passion you have my man, love watching your reactions because I had all the same emotions when the show was airing. I could'nt get over Andy and his performance. But the show being a piece of art transcends all that, you cant imagine the epic in store yet
One thing i have to say, the actor who replaces Andy still does very good job, actually much better than what one would expect. I'm sure you will love the rest of the seasons as well!
Wow!! I know I can’t wait but this series destroyed me, I will definitely get back on it don’t you worry ❤️
Greatest show ever. Honestly every episode is epic 🔥🔥 Bro your reactions are great I really can't wait to watch the rest of the show with you 🔥
without spoiling any details, gods of the arena is amazing. considering how much you love the character of batiatus, you'll especially love it, since it mainly revolves around him and his wife. aenomeus, crixus, ashur, and naevia all have great back stories, as well as an amazing new character.
it is very nearly as good as season 1 imo, it's just shorter.
I would even argue that the fight scenes are Better then the First season
R.I.P. Andy Whitfield, amazing actor, terrible loss. He'll be forever great.
A few years ago, Manu Bennet / Crixus was a guest at the Festa dell'Unicorno, a fantasy convention held in Vinci, near Florence, here in Italy. They asked him about his relationship with Andy and he replied that he had suffered a lot at his death because on set, since he had to play a rival of his, they had never talked much to avoid getting intimate. When Andy died, Manu thought how sorry he was that they had not become more friends. Truly heartbreaking.
Awesome reaction playlist, man. And now, straight to "Spartacus - Gods of the Arena"! You will love it as well!
"You know in another life you and may have been has Brother's but not in this one" There's a powerful story behind that💙🙏 "Kill Them Kill Them All!!!" Birth of a Leader soon to be Genaral in The War on Rome ⚔️ And man Andy Whitefield was in so much pain but had a feeling about that jump off the shield 🛡️ but did it anyway and it's such a Iconic moment The lower class Slaves Rise! Amazing reaction as always Ash💯 Looking forward to The rest of your Journey of Spartacus in Honor of Andy choose Liam and Manu Bennett aka Crixus helping him, Thanks man 🙏
This reaction was the best. Definitely.
And now, now we get God's of the Arena
Luckily, they did something smart with 'Gods of the Arena' which kindof lets that whole "Andy Whitfield isn't in it"-thing off the hook. :) But anymore information kindof spoils that effect. So I won't say :P
What I will say is this: didn't you just love all the villainous monologues in this first season? Absolutely none of them were unconvincing. Solonius, Batiatus and especially Ashur. Ashur's "every stone in this FUCKING HOUSE!" - speech was perfection for me.
For now my man, let this simmer. Let the finale sink in. And in due time -when you're ready- pray to the Gods of the Arena that Capua may still hold some enjoyable myths and legends for you!
Love love this comment mate! After receiving the amount of love and from the director, I’ll watch Gods of the Arena much sooner 🤟🏾 love you mate, thank you for this ❤️
I felt the same way when I first watched this show, I loved the first season and Andy Whitefield was the perfect fit for Spartacus, he is Spartacus. And I was excited to continue the show and watched season 2. When I got to season 3 I was shocked, but I won’t say any more. I still love the show and every season is a masterpiece. But it was never the same after Andy passed.
I don't usually leave comments, but I think I really should this time. I appreciate that the internet exists to be able to see content like yours. I am Argentine, and an ocean separates us on this planet, but thanks to your channel and your reactions, you are connected with me and with each one of us. This series is one of the best masterpieces ever made, and it is a pity that it is not more widely known and valued. You made me shudder and cry with all your reactions, feel the passion that I felt when I saw this jewel at the time. And what to say? Andy Whitfield was the fucking master!! What he did to his character as "Spartacus" was orgasmic, wonderfully orgasmic. And this is why the rest of the saga, with the other actor, doesn´t even reach the tip of his heels. Andy set the bar very high. "Gods of the arena" is masterful! You are going to love it !! Because it's the prequel, it explains a lot of things, and it's really great. "Blood and sand" and "Gods of the arena" are the best of this saga. I tried to watch the other seasons but couldn't, it was just impossible for me to connect with the new actor. Andy was Spartacus, and no one but him. Sorry, but that actor couldn't fill his shoes. So I will look forward to your reaction to the prequel (Gods of the arena) and the rest I will not see because I didn´t like it. But I will continue to support your channel and the rest of your content. Thanks a million for so much passion in your reactions and for the love you gave to this fantastic series and even an actor as wonderful as "Andy Whitfield". Thank you, thank you, thank you! All the love from Argentina! ♥
PS: Sorry if my english is not perfect. 🙏
Andy was a great man you honour him with your reactions he would love them
I love these reactions, to be honest Spartacus is most probably the most enjoyable and rewatchable series ever, all the other series go beyond the prime time and just extend it to oblivion just for the money, but Spartacus ended with War of the Damned and i wouldnt have it any other day, if someone reading this comment havent seen all the Spartacus Series, they should fix that mistake right away, its bloody amazing... Paying respect to Andy is a right thing to do and im glad they didnt fuck up the series after he left us, i would say its the other way arround, that they extended his legacy and made the story whole. Fuck Game of Thrones, also fuck Vikings or some other similar show, they got nothing on Spartacus ( + im pretty sure they copied Spartacus... really when you look at the release dates its kinda sketchy)
Amen!
As for me,I would put Viking on an equal footing as Spartacus!I enjoy rewatching both of them!
I love spartacus, It has everything, very well done serie.
RIP Andy he was an amazing actor.
Rest in peace Andy! Forever missed 💔
I need this reaction in my veins!
Probably my fav reactions on RUclips!! Man I felt the same way and it’s dope to relive it. This show is another level
Wow you know how to hype me up mate! Appreciate the love ❤️
1. In one interview, Andy's widow revealed Paramount Pictures had approached him about staring in a Paradise Lost movie they've been trying to make. I've always hoped that Andy would be a household name by today. He had that John Everyman quality about him.
2. Ash, did you not think how painful it was for Spartacus to kneel before the men who've wronged him? So fucked up!
3. Like I did with Jai Courtney, Varro, when a main character dies, I will tell you what the actor has done since leaving this show, because A LOT of people who've been on this show went on to be really successful.
4. John Hannah, Batiatus, he would later star on a season and a half of Marvel's Agents of Shield.
5. Hope you decide to dive right into Gods of the Arena, Ash. If you love/hate Batiatus and Lucretia, you ain't seen shit yet my friend!
6. Wish I could hug you man! Give you a shoulder to cry on, buy you a drink...or ten, lol.
7. I promise you, Liam McIntyre did a fantastic job as Spartacus. He didn't one-up Andy. No-one could've played Spartacus like he did, but Liam made the character his own, and did Andy justice. Andy even gave them their blessing to pass the role on to Liam before he left us. I hope that helps you, man.
8. And finally, you will have A LOT of crazy reactions as you watch the rest of this show.
Andy Whitfield will always be remembered as the greatest Spartacus. And a great family man. The emotions you showed during this reaction was exactly how I felt. It was such a joy to watch this reaction series. And I'm really looking forward to the more on the rest of the show. Thank you Ash! You are fucking awesome!
I love your reaction. I just want to say the way you got so emotional at the end says alot about you. I loved Andy's portrail of Spartacus. But that doesn't mean the rest of the series isn't great. You take as much time as you need to get back to it. I love you bro. Also "Fuck Cancer" no truer words have ever been spoken. Cheers bro. You're a champion 🏆
No I’m sure it’s great, I just wanna focus on other series to bring a wider and variety of audiences in but I will for sure finish it don’t you worry mate!! Mad love you mate, thank you ❤️
This show was a godsend for me. After i had major heart surgery and was laid up in my junior year of college I watched the first 2 seasons (gods of the arena being 2 in this case) and fell in love. I was a history major then, I am now ABD in a history doctoral program and wish I had specialized in classical history lol.
The great thing about spartacus as a historical figure is as much as we do know about him, there is twice as much we don't know. Which allowed DeKnight and company a wide berth to play inside the historical narrative without betraying it entirely and boy howdy do they hit a great balance between the history as we know it and the requirements of making a television show entertaining and linear enough to make sense.
I love that Ash might be the only other person I have ever seen that has the same passion and intensity for this piece of art as I and my brother do.
Andy will never be forgotten, and Liam does a wonderful job stepping in for my man.
#RomanScum #KillThemAll #IAmSpartacus #BloodAndSand
Andy will forever be the best Spartacus but Liam was a great pass of the torch and plays the role amazingly.
Thank you, Ash. Thank you for not letting this series, and by extension, Andy's legacy, die. Spartacus is the best journey and I'm glad I get to share it with you.
As long as the Internet lasts, which is likely until the end of the human race, Spartacus: Blood and Sand will be remembered. Everything is in cyberspace, so Andy will live on forever.
Gods of The Arena (GOTA) - This one went into production while Andy was still alive. They were making it to give him time to recover and return. Unfortunately, we know how that turned out. What it does mean is that the same team that made season one was all still in place for GOTA, so the same level of intensity is there and it's a very short season, so they get a LOT of FANTASTIC story telling done VERY quickly.
did you know they originally intended to make this series at least 7 seasons long? this is already my favorite series ever, but i can't even imagine how amazing it could have been if there were 7 seasons + gods of the arena, with andy playing spartacus the entire time. i love season 2, but every time i watch it i can't help but imagine how much better it would be with andy. he and glaber had a such a perfect chemistry in season 1, that chemistry just isn't there in 2. also, even though this isn't the fault of the actor, just having a new actor for spartacus in season 2 breaks the immersion a little, especially the first time watching.
Spartacus Season 2 starts off a bit shaky but there is a turning point where Liam becomes the new Spartacus and basically takes the mantle of the character.
@@Jack_80 BIG YES, to everything you just said.
@@jackcheung3200 He never got there at all in season 2 for me. I do however agree that he developed into his own version in season 3, still wasn't nearly as good as Andy for me, because I just never found him to be intimidating or powerful as a leader and warrior among all the other Gladiators that were hulks compared to him, but he did make the character his own enough that I enjoyed season 3 enough to get past it.
@@jackcheung3200 he gets better over time, sure, but he never comes close to andy. i'm not just saying that because andy passed either, he's just far more believable and brings the character to life in a way liam couldn't. i don't know how exactly to explain it, but liam sounded like a soap opera actor or something, overly dramatic and not very believable, andy was completely convincing from the start.
Andy Whitfield is a legend. His and John Hannah's performances in season one keep me coming back to this series
I remember when i watched season finale for a first time, boy ow boy i never did so much fist ups in my life, probably till this day.
Think all the fans undestaind what this show and Andy as Spartacus means to you. I remember when news about his passing broke i was in shock for many days, specially because not long before that there were news that he is getting better and on his way to recovery, at that time Spartacus was already recasted for season 2, but i didn't care, i mean i was exited for season 2, but i were just glad that Andy is ok, and i was wery exited to see what he gonna do next, because he was such a good actor and i was instant fan of his after Spartacus. Then i read that he died and it was like punch in a gut. He is not forgotten and im happy about that. I love thus show, and next seasons as well, and Liam McYintyre did a great job, but it was bittersweet to watch it. Rest in peace Andy Whitfield, wish his family all the best.
For those wondering if it's really Steven DeKnight. Yes it's him it's up on his Twitter lol
I swear, you have no idea how much we're alike. When Andy died, I was just broken. I still haven't watched season 2 or the prequel to season 2. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. He was so phenomenal. RIP Whitfield.
It’s an honour to have you on here watching this with me mate, appreciate it ❤️
@@justtrustash I just may continue the series now thanks to you. Seeing how into the show you were reminded me of how much I was into the whole experience myself! Thank you!
I started to cry when Ashkan started crying...my brother you touched my soul man🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭
Hahaha love you mate, and apologies for making you cry..this show means so much to me ❤️
I was 13 yo when i've watched the serie, and 10 years later always incredible Spartacus 4 seasons are incredible and unforgetable
Originally the plan was for Batiatus to figure out instinctively Spartacus was had discovered the truth, hence him having that look you caught on to earlier. They changed their mind. Technically you were correct.
You are a true legend thank you so much for reacting to this show I've been wanting people to react to this show for a very long time you're the only one brave enough to do it you're the bomb be safe be loved and be healthy
"..what does it matter, we have been living in a dream and now we must awaken.."
Simple yet profound.
Thank YOU bro, thank you for doing your part to highlight this amazing show. thank you bringing us along on the journey, and thank you for honoring the Legend that is Andy Whitfield. take your time mate, no rush on the later entries. I felt the same regarding the later seasons. in the end I completed the series in appreciation of the other amazing talents involved who I feel resolved to finish the saga in honor of their friend. In the name of Jupitus Optimus Maximus: Fuck Cancer
Spartacus was never the same again without my all-time favorite actor, Andy Whitfield. He passed the same year as my little brother, both from cancer 💔 #RIPAndyWhitfeild #RIPJoshuaClydeEdmonds
Your ride is just getting started with omg endings in this show.
I felt the same when Andy died i had a bracelet that said be here now in his honor after his documentary. This show was incredible because of Andy i continued the seasons to the end because Andy approved of his replacement and Andy cared so much about this character i felt obligated to finish it in his honor. I was in bits through it all. No one reviews this series so im so grateful i found your channel!!
This finale was EPIC. And I really enjoyed your entire set of reactions. But the ending is bittersweet because of how painful it was to lose Andy. I don’t know the last time I’ve ever encountered an actor so incredibly charismatic. Personally I did have some problems watching the other seasons, because of Andy missing. So I’m kind of interested to see if I will enjoy them more now with your reactions.
Love your honesty mate..I will be open minded and try not to compare..but I just can’t start it straight away as would do exactly that haha. Appreciate the support throughout the series mate ❤️
I had trouble getting used to the new actor.
Don't get me wrong. He was very good.
But he is not Andy.
Certain things only Andy did.
His charisma was infectious, and after watching his documentary you also saw his human side.
It made you warm to him so much.
Spartans and Crixsus was just an unbelievable combination together on screen.
God's of the arena is brilliant too.
Side note....
Please watch "The last Kingdom" based on the Saxons and Vikings... And "Rome"
Both shows are based on real events and the acting is unbelievable x
Honor to watch you react. One of the best series of all time and truly you are on of the best reactors on RUclips.
"She was the sun… never to rise again…" 💔
Thank you so much for reacting to this series.best show of all time.im subscribed twice by the way I'm robert eugene as well.fav reaction channel especially when you started this show.
Love all your reactions this one the most my favorite series ever bought the box set would have loved to see what Andy would have done after this we are blessed to have it to watch whenever we want
Pure FACTS!!! Appreciate the love mate!
It may sound strange, but I rarely enjoy the tears of other people so much. Not because I wish someone tears, but because there is someone who experienced this series as much as I did. I can feel your every tear bro. Andy was, is and will remain Spartacus. Many actors played this character (including the brilliant Liam), but when we think about Spartacus, we will all have Andy's face in front of our eyes. This is what it means to be an actor. Fuck cancer.
Dude I've loved this TV show for ages and seeing your reaction all 13 episodes was amazing too see another person love it like me! Andy was a star in the making and terrible that he was taken from the journey to the top! One of the best performances I've ever seen!! Great videos mate. Also, your reaction at the end got me too mate! Watching it first time did too.
John Hannah is really underrated, I mean here he is playing a serious role, but just as easily in movies like The Mummy etc he's just comedy relief.
I'm still crushed ,I remember hearing of his passing and how stunned And shocked I was...
We lost a brilliant and beautiful soul... But gained a legend..... Rest in eternal Pease Andy Whitfield.....🤙
Honestly I just imagine what this guy would‘ve been like in other movies and maybe in marvel or Dc movie..destroyed me! Appreciate you watching mate ❤️
Batiatus is really a super interesting character, I totally understand your loving and hate him at the same time. Great acting of all cast members!
This show is my favorite of all time. I love history. I love his story. I even named my son....Leonidas Spartacus
NO WAYYY!!! Your son is gonna be a proper BOSS IN SCHOOL ❤️😂
@@justtrustash yup, I'm a train him and build him like a Gladiator 💪
This show delivered on every level, the writing, the acting, Andy will forever be Spartacus, he owned that role, RIP.
Every season is amazing
If you want pay tribute to Andy Whitefield in a full extended way by high lighting him in a way that don't have violence in it I recommend You to watch the documentary called *Be Here Now* about his private life, family & his fight against cancer while he speaks both his illness, search for treatment & how it was like to perform the role of Spartacus that made him so popular by turn him into a Legend & Icon...R.I.P Andy Whitefield....Never Forgotten
I would be so interested in a what if scenario on if Spartacus never discovered the truth about his wife and remained loyal to Batiatus, how far would they climb together in Rome? Love all these characters and your reactions, Cannot wait for Gods of the Arena
“Andy Whitfield… a Champion on screen, a legend in our hearts”.
We will be brothers in another life ❤️ appreciate you watching
I remember when Manu Bennett and the rest of the crew from Gods of the Arena did the Haka dance for Andy before his death. It felt so empowering and uplifting seeing it. Thanks for these reactions. You made me remember this epic series.
You should watch "Be Here Now" if you haven't already. It's a documentary on Andy and his journey/battle with cancer. It is incredibly sad, but it will give you an even higher respect for him. He was honestly an incredible person.
Ashkan...i love you my brother...you're respect for Andy is beautiful...amazing.
Now I gotta go back & rewatch the series....... _Again!_
*Great Reaction* 💯⚔🗡⚒💯
My brother! Appreciate you ❤️
I’m sure we all feel the same about Andy after a break please continue because the creators and actors of this show really stepped up in the next season thanks again Ash
Will do mate, I will for sure finish don’t you worry
Batiatus last scene when Spartacus said "What would you do to hold your wife again?" The look on Batiatus's face and Lacrecia's face was awesome.
Honor Andy by continuing the series. Andy is tapping on his shield above to tell you “go forward, Mate!”
This isn't the last you gonna see the legend, there's one final tribute.
Baby comes out : Capua?! Shall i begin?!
Finally ! F I N A L L Y, when I saw you were reacting to Spartacus and observed how you were growing more and more interested in the show, I couldn't wait for you to see the last 3 or 4 episodes, because there is so much happening in them.
Obviously, no one can replace Andy (who was so handsome and talented), but, believe us all when we say that McIntyre did a stellar job. And like so many, you're in for a ride with Gods Of The Arena, but also Vengeance, then War Of The Damned. You will not regret watching the show in its entirety : if you think you're a disciple, then wait till you meet Gannicus :) then reach the end of War Of The Damned. But, yes, the tap on the shield moment is iconic for a reason and is entirely unforgettable.
As a big fan of the show, I am so happy you have discovered it and like it so much ! I actually teach Latin and Ancient Greek to middle schoolers and I always wished I could show them this show : unfortunately the nudity prevents me from doing it, so seeing someone who had never heard of the show be so into it makes me really happy. Thank you for your reaction and really glad you reached the end of this wonderful show.
Could you imagine watching this with students? Specially after lunch when they have energy..they will start fly kick and choke slamming each other 😂 appreciate the kind words and this legendary comment mate, mad love to you ❤️
Absolutely loved your reactions. PLEASE do them all..cant wait to see them with u ❤❤❤
I feel you man! you need to watch the Behind the scenes with Andy! they will cheer you up, his attitude and comeradery with the crew of the show is amazing..
R.I.P Andy Withfield!
Just wow... what a finale and what a great reaction. I also got emotional at the end. rip andy whitfield. I hope you also warm up to Liam McIntyre, because he did a very good job too. but first, there is The Gods of the Arena!!!
Best show ever made. Starts crazy and finishes perfect👌
I loved watching your reaction to the whole season. I love watching your reactions, and I have some much respect for you. I loved watching how the show just took over and you are completely immersed in the show. Spartacus is my all time favorite show.
very emotional.. so glad you're taking this journey.
Man I love this show I've seen this season and gods of the arena alot I can sit and rewatch this or have it on in the back ground great show
FACTS!!
Even though Andy was not present for the rest of the series the show does not suffer for it. We definitely feel the weight of Andy not being there but the quality does not drop off at all. I wish more people knew about this show as well.
The biggest thing I took from this show was the sense of brotherhood between men. The friends we'd die for, the men and women that come into our lives that we'd happily fight alongside and smile whenever we are in the presence of. I have a tattoo heavily inspired by this show and that message. The one thing we cannot lose, as humans, is that sense of brotherhood and no matter what clashes we have in personalities, the ability to stand side by side when we need to. Incredible reactions brother, you are someone I'd happily fight alongside 💪❤️ R.I.P Andy ❤️
Spartacus is the Best Gladiator series of All so far. I seen her 5 Times. Rest in peace Andy Whitfield
Sometimes I think you'll faint from all the hype. xD

Brotha Ash, by far, your best reaction video to such an epic show. Like you, this show spoke to me as it had everything a show should have, good story, good actors, good dialogue, and lots of emotion and action. I watched this show about 3 years ago and your reaction videos made me remember how good this show is. Keep up the great content. Aloha
