I had a gorgeous wool knit sweater when I was a teen...black and pink in a nordic type of design, it was my favorite item. My mom accidentally threw it in the washer and dryer with the regular laundry and it was half it's size when I came home from school. I was heartbroken and swore that someday I would recreate that sweater.
I just wanted to see how you do this. I am not sure I will do this but I really want to know how it's done so when you talk about it I know. Thank you for showing us.
I absolutely love this hat and wanted to make it for my daughter-in-law - in the UK the only place I can source this wool is from Amazon and they want £24 a ball, I just cannot warrant paying that much for a ball of wool - I guess I am just going to have to take the risk of using a different wool and hoping it turns out as well .. a simple but yet stunning item .. thank you for sharing your knowledge with us Crystal.
Between the adorable style with the brim folded down & the pretty rose colors - it reminds me of a "flapper" style hat. I LOVE that your patterns are always so original!
Dear Sweet Crystal... You are amazing...I have been so excited over the last few videos....the two afghans...and the shawl...now this hat...how can one person do all this?......thank you....they are perfect designs...not too complicated....and great instructions...I truly thank you for having the passion to keep going...we need your inspirations.... I have been in a crochet slump the last month or so...and you have pulled me out...been watching you for several years...
OMG! OK, so, I'm relearning to crochet, and love old style hats, I've made this, and will put it through the washer tomorrow. If it don't work, i'll have a 5 gallon bucket cover.. LOL.. fingers crossed!
That looks like so much fun! I have kept my wool separated from my acrylic so I can find it easier. I have only felted something accidentally once. It was a stuffed monkey that got wet and I threw it in the dryer. His big hair became felted and was hilarious and I will keep him because he's so unique! Ha!
Adorable. I may have to deal with the pain in order to make my daughter on of these hats. She can wear any hat and it looks amazing on her...I do not have a hat face myself...so I'll make her one and be jealous of how good it looks on her. 😂
I can't wait to make this for myself. I am 69 years young and am not fooling myself into believing I would look even a fraction as good as your model. But I do feel like the quirky part of me will feel as good
I really like this one & it’s pretty fast as well. I’m having chemo treatments and my hair is just starting to fall out. It was to my waist & I had it cut short before I started chemo. They think it will make 2 wigs for kids with cancer and I need a few hats. It’s winter here down under (New Zealand) & it’s surprisingly cold with all your hair gone.
This is a gorgeous hat! I guess I'll have to wait on learning to felt until I can afford the yarn. Lol! You have a purse I'd love to do also that is felted. Thank you for all your lovely tutorials, Crystal. You've taught me a lot!
I’ve never felted before, but I ordered the local grown yarn from Joann’s (on sale, yeah!!😊), and it arrived today, just in time for the weekend. I have the red and green yarn to make a Christmas hat, we’ll see how it goes, should be fun! Then I want to do your rooster/chicken, which I already have the yarn for, too. Excited to try some small but new (to me) projects. Thanks, Chrystal, I’ll post the results.
I’ve wanted to make a cloche hat for ages! I’ve never felted crochet before either so looking forward to giving your pattern a go. I live in the Uk so have had to find an alternative 100% wool yarn so 🤞. Thanks for the pattern and tutorial 😊
Have never used wool so obviously have never felted but love this hat and the easy pattern. So, I am going to Michael's for yarn and make one. Thank you for such a good tutorial! Can't wait to finish it!
Thank you I washed mine with two towels as suggested now drying, hopefully it will fit my head as it still looks a little big, I will dry it if too big. I went down a hook size as well. Thank you for another easy tutorial. Love it 🎉
Oh so cute, I never realized that when you felted something, it would shrink. I've never felted anything before. This would be a perfect project for me to try it on. Thank you for the tutorial.❤
Wow what a beautiful hat. It looks perfect as a bucket style the best - very sweet. I never knew about felting before so you've taught me something new. Thank you for sharing all your videos.
I love this hat, but I’m allergic to 100% wool. Beautiful hat, I may try it in acrylic with a smaller needle and see if I can size it correctly. Thanks Crystal.
Oh my Gosh, oh my gosh! Girl I really really love this! Street I'm fine crocheting my daughter's present in doing this next for me! ( She'll take it from me though) Thank you so so much for this beautiful tutorial
Received my yarn and did my first one, haven’t washed it yet because I was crocheting with a looser tension, so I’m going to redo it before I wash it 😂
Never tried anything like this on purpose..😁 have felted a pure wool jumper by accident..went from 1xl to toddler size. Hilarious!😂 it some how got caught up inside a duvet cover in the laundry basket... I wondered what the really heavy thing was in it when i pulled the cover out of a cotton 90oC hot wash! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Thanks Crystal. Hugs from the UK. X
I think Downton Abbey when I see this. I just love it!!!!!!!!
Thanks Vicki ❤️

Did your hat turn out for you?
I haven't been brave enough to felt yet. This hat is so cool! Thank you.
Never felted before going to get the wool yarn and try this project. Can't wait to make this.
That looks like so much fun! I have kept my wool separated from my acrylic so I can find it easier. I have only felted something accidentally once. I don’t wear hats but it is a beautiful hat. I live in SC and a hat is not needed in the winter months.
Wow!!! This is the most gorgeous hat I’ve ever seen!
Thanks Gloria ❤️
Your creativity astounds me!!!!!!
I LOVE this hat. I already made 5 of your Flapper hat
You look so good in the “cloche” style hat 😊

I can't wait to make this for myself. I am 69 years young and am not fooling myself into believing I would look even a fraction as good as your model. But I do feel like the quirky part of me will feel as good
I gotta give this a try. Never felted before.
This is so cool. I'm going to have to try this. I want to try a purse too, maybe with a pretty flower applique
I really like this one & it’s pretty fast as well. I’m having chemo treatments and my hair is just starting to fall out. It was to my waist & I had it cut short before I started chemo.
