    I know this video is in black and white. My lighting isn't always the best in my home and my lighting is being repaired. This video is raw facts about the city I live in, so I thought I'd make the stylistic chance to black and white and just talk about what I love and hate about Halifax.
    I really love this city and I'm excited for it to become the main character of most of my videos! Please let me know in the comment section below if you have any questions about Halifax, Nova Scotia.

    I'm from Nova Scotia, (Dartmouth, not Halifax) and you've hit the nail on the head! It is very boring here during the winter, the only thing is the bars. We are insanely friendly to, I've been stopped on the street to give directions and never thought anything of it hahaha, glad you enjoyed the city 😁

    I am travelling to Halifax some day soon. From Alberta. I find Alberta is a very dead city and rents are so expensive you can't survive or just barely get by on your salary when rents are 2/3rd's of your wages. How do you survive. It's absolute Lunacy the greed involved from and in apartment renting. I am hoping to find something better in Halifax. Thanks for your video and sharing what it has been like for you in your Tight Knit community.

    I am Brazilian and I intend to move to Halifax until 2019. I search a lot of apartment rental prices, but it is difficult to find one with 3 bedrooms. I do not want to live in a house. Could you give me tips on where to look?

      Marcos Gonçalves Pereira are you planning on moving for school purposes? I'm from Nova Scotia and we have apartment buildings run by someone called Killams properties. It would be a good start to check them out

      I live in a Killam property apartment in Halifax. I've also spoken with the CEO and he's a great guy. Resident managers are friendly too.
      Definitely a good idea to check them out.

    I stayed there for almost a year and I am from Ontario so I noticed a few pros and cons. The pros are really just how beautiful it is there. The cons though is that people are nice to your face, but I feel like a lot of people for some reason secretly change face and will randomly be cold for no reason. It wasn't just with me. But the people I knew there were like this with each other too, and it got brutal watching it play out every single day behind nice faces. I don't even know how to describe it. Its like they will attack you while disguising it as politeness,......I have never experienced this anywhere else. I left there feeling confused and paranoid lol. Maybe it was just the area I was in, but it was everyone doing this to each other regularly. Like snobbery and secretly one upping each other with no mercy, but behind a happy face. I just found a lot of people there to be arrogant.
    Anyway lol, I still recommend going there because its beautiful and quaint otherwise. But maybe stay there a year before deciding if you actually want to move there permanently.
    This isn't a personal attack on anyone as I don't doubt there are nice people there and ns is still nice. Its just with my experience this seemed to be an ongoing thing even with people I didn't know. The winters there are also long and can be desolate (1 month in the winter feels like 10 years). I actually love slow paced living and wilderness more then anything else but in Nova Scotia it was as if time didn't move at all. Even just walking to the grocery store (the closest one to me was 35 mins of walking on snowed in streets)..the entire walk felt like 24 hours. I guess I should have got snowshoes. Its just a lot of nothingness especially in the winter and it can wear on you. I have been to places that are in the middle of nowhere which did not feel this way. Actually, the place where I grew up has the coldest frostbite-inducing winters ever and even the winters there were exciting, full of character and beautiful. There were not a lot of sidewalks in my area in ns or street care, despite being the next area over from Halifax. There were no buses...well there were bus stops, but I never saw an actual bus there lol where I was. The summers are worth it though. If you are visiting make sure to go in the summer.

    Kinda ironic you called one of Canada's oldest cities "underdeveloped ". But, most cites(say Montreal) continued to grow enough to preserve there old structures whiling gaining new infrastructure. Gotta love how it is not as flat as some newer cities. Ontario, for instance, is super duper flat. But, I do understand your sentiment(I am an EstCoaster: S.J N.B/ Halifax N.S, who is now in Ontario). Are your from Ontario?

    • @NaderNadernejadOfficial
      @NaderNadernejadOfficial  6 лет назад +1

      Yes I am from Ontario! I guess underdeveloped wasn't the best word to use, but it certainly doesn't have many options when it comes to choosing where to purchase goods or experience entertainment. It has everything a large city has, but not as many choices and not as much competition.

    Hello, thank you for making these videos about Nova Scotia.I am from the Dominican Republic, I am 40 years old and my wife is 25 years old. She finished the university two years ago, she studied pedagogy for special children. She works in Santo Domingo's school for special children. She has 2 years of experience. We are planning to move to Halifax. Maybe you can make a video about the steps we have to make in order to live there with the ATLANTIC PROVINCE PILOT PROGRAM. They are many people (like us) interesting about immigrating to these provinces through this program.
    I hope you consider my suggestion. Thanks again for your videos.

      Hello Eliazar! This is awesome. Thanks for sharing your experiences and this program with me. I haven't heard about the Pilot Program before, but I'll look into it and ask around to make an informed video about it. Thanks again and good luck with your futures!
