- Brentford’s 2023/24 Premier League campaign ended with a 4-2 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
Vitaly Janelt and Yoane Wissa netted after the break as the Bees looked to overturn a three-goal deficit at Gtech Community Stadium, but Bruno Guimarães added the Magpies’ fourth to dampen any hopes of a dramatic comeback on the final day.

Tough day for the bees. We’ve got to work harder on defense. Honestly I think we would’ve won had we not have made big mistakes on defense. Also sad to see that this was most likely Toney’s last game in a Brentford kit.

Not a great defensive performance today,but before this game,in the last few matches we have been defending a lot better and remember that in 1/3 of our matches this season we have not had our back four from last season available Rico, Ethan,Ben and Aaron with all pretty big injuries this season we have had Ivan missing for half the season and he's also had injury trouble when he has come back from the ban and Bryan and Wissa have been firing the goals all season which has been a positive,so unfortunate that Ivan's goal got dissalowed today. Mark Flekken I feel has gotten better as the season went on which is a positive especially when our back four kept changing throughout the season. I feel overall this season has been okay, we have had really good performances at times and just had not got what we deserved especially both games against Man united where I felt we should of won both of those games comfortably. 16th place isn't where we should of finished, in my opinion we should of finished at least like 12th, but we go again stronger for next season COYB.
