    Good stuff. Protip: I always take pictures of how the statues were initially packed (especially for unlicensed pieces) so i know how to repack it for when I move or when selling. The biggest pain with resin/polystone are the boxes, they are gigantic and annoying and you absolutely need to keep them due to how much more fragile the statues are.

      Haha thanks for the support! 😁 When there's multiple clear parts in an unboxing taking pictures and filming is a godsend! 🤣

    One important thing I want to mention for everyone starting or considering buying resin statues: Allways keep both (Yes, both) boxes the statue arrives - the official artbox from the studio that manufactured the statue AND the brown "shipper box"!!! This is very important if you ever plan on selling or moving your statue.
    And yes, I know they take up a lot of space and you might end up paying for a storage unit like me, depending on how crazy you get with orders..

      100% this can't be stressed enough! I'm gonna be moving soon and without the outer brown box it would be impossible! 🤣

    Great sharing Derick, on the start to end process. Really great tip about the recording as well.
    In my experience (although just 3 resin statues so far) during my shipping process, I asked my site of choice if they can go for other shipping alternatives to hopefully bring the costs down and they helped in checking. So if anyone experienced a bigger than usual shipping cost quoted, I may recommend clarifying/'negotiate' with your platform of choice to see if they can elaborate or check further. May not work but worth a try.
    Also a possibly unorthodox consideration for your site of choice - Try to solicit responses (from seller or other buyers) shipping costs quoted by different sites, in order to 1. Have a brief understanding of your likely cost (i.e. some sites are able to give you estimation usually on released products) and 2. Be able to make comparisons if some sites are charging way higher for shipping. I like to say the shipping fee is almost 30% of your statues price sometimes and is a worthy consideration when it comes to deciding which site to get your money.
    That said, I am not fully onboard with resin statues yet due to lack of space and truthfully the shipping fee and assembly process (as a very clumsy and not hands-on person) are painful. I just went through the Hero Belief's Makima and it took an hour 😅
    However, I had to PO Prime 1's Guts and Griffith statues after seeing them at their store in Shinjuku and I am really keen to pick up a Tifa statue (still on the hunt but the 1/3 Creation Studio one is pretty convincing) after getting into Rebirth. So.. good luck to my future endeavors 😅

    • @DTTCReviews
      @DTTCReviews  5 месяцев назад +1

      Those are some great considerations for the perspective resin enjoyer! Other than the room, cost, and time to build I'd say resin is a great medium to collect!
      You should totally grab that Tifa for the collection too! 😉

    Since mid-2020, nearly all packages arrived at my Canadian home came with duties + taxes + brokerage fee, regardless of the value of their content. This is the second biggest reason I have abstained from buying resin figures, despite how awesome some of them look.
    The side effect of being taxed regularly: If a package isn't delivered by a courier, if a bill is high enough, the delivery driver would sometimes inquire about what I purchased that landed me such a "heavy toll", despite its often small lightweight packaging. As a result of these and ensuing conversations, I am now on a first-name basis with many of them. That's a good thing, right? (≧▽≦)

    Can you share your experiences about the durability, handling and such about statues, pvc vs abs vs resin? Should man get uv filtered vitrins, keeo them out of direct sunlight, or far from coolers/heaters or they don't need special treatment at all? What temperature should be they kept in ideally? Do they keep their form for ever or the material is aging and will be deformed or become brittle in some years? How many of years?

    • @DTTCReviews
      @DTTCReviews  Месяц назад +1

      @nihil0771 Hey, in general, I'd say resin is much more brittle than plastic, but the medium allows for more details to show through with sculpts. I'd highly recommend keeping them away from direct sunlight as they can discolour and heat around 20-25 C is ideal. My room has gotten to close to 40 C in the past, and my resins have not shown any damaging effects, but your mileage may vary! Hope this helps! 😉

    I’m looking into resin ones after recently learning that pvc Banpresto figures are carcinogenic especially due to phthalates exposure. Are resin ones completely non-toxic or are there any hazards we should also be aware of?

    • @DTTCReviews
      @DTTCReviews  24 дня назад

      For resins, the main time they would be considered toxic/ harmful would be either during the casting process when fumes are released, if you're sanding them, or exposing them to extreme heat like an open flame. All these are from the creation process so you should have nothing to worry about as a consumer. Just keep them in a temperature controlled room and out of direct sunlight.
      Hope this helps!

  • @alien6361

    Do you have more tips on displaying/arranging them? I've avoided buying any of the really big ones, because I use Ikea Billy for most of my scales, and the resins are too deep to fit. I have a deeper shelf I can put them on but they're so big that it seems like they'd fill it up immediately, with 1 huge resin taking up as much space as several scales. For example I was recently looking to get Nico Robin Ventus Studio Demonio Fleur, and Enel TH Studio EX with LED, but then noticed the depth measurements and realized they'd take up way too much space.

    • @DTTCReviews
      @DTTCReviews  2 месяца назад
