    Fair point. If Lonzo achieves his potential, he'll end up as a Jason Kidd type talent. Although Kidd was an excellent player, he wasn't a talent deserving of the hype Lonzo has got. This type of hype should be reserved for the best of the best. For example lebron. Don't think anyone is saying he's anyway similar to lebron ability wise

    Lonzo is basically rondo without the defense

    • @jimmydevron5480
      @jimmydevron5480 7 лет назад

      and the offence and the massive hands and the massive arms

    • @metroidM1A1
      @metroidM1A1 7 лет назад

      +jimmy devron Lonzo has longer arms than Rondo's 6'9" (not 7' lol) wing span. And Rondo's hands are big but they're average for a football player (there the same size as 5'10" Odell Beckhams and Russell Wilson's hands). And if you watch Lonzo play he handles/picks up the ball very well with 1 hand and he has very long arms. he more than likely has big hands too

    • @madtown7222
      @madtown7222 7 лет назад

      metroidM1A1 Still a bust though

    • @jimmydevron5480
      @jimmydevron5480 7 лет назад

      ball has a 201cm wingspan rando's is 206 and the thing that made rando good was that he had crazy long arms and big hands (which are the same size as LBJ so u know) but was super quick and agile due to his small size (6'1) Lonzo can't even remotely compare to rondo he might one day but he def can't now

    • @metroidM1A1
      @metroidM1A1 7 лет назад

      +jimmy devron Lonzo didn't attend the NBA draft combine as a result, his wing span has not been officially measured since he was a sophomore in highschool AND HES OBVIOUSLY GROWN SINCE THEN. And most point guards have arms as long or longer than Rondo's, you guys just take hype and run with it without really thinking about what you're talking about. 6'7 - 6'9 (Which is Rondo's range of wing span) is long, but it's pretty common for guys in the NBA that are his height. Use official measurements, not your imagination. And when you don't have official measurements, don't pretend that guessing is the next best thing.

    Scoring point guards don't win championships. Rose Westbrook Wall Harden lillard kemba. Only curry and the reason why is because curry plays in a offense where no one player can dominate the ball. Lonzo is not trying to out score players he's trying to make the guys around him better and win games. The reason why deaaron fox had a better game against him in the tournament is because his team won. When lonzo went to Kentucky Fox outscored him 19 to 14 but lonzo had 10 assists and his team won. It's not about the 1 on 1 at the pg position it's about winning and losing not being a 2 in a 1 body.

      @sean24833 7 лет назад

      Chan Kevin exactly it's a team game which is why the Lakers got Lonzo. He's gonna involve everyone. Stephen keeps talking about scoring. It's not about that with lonzo

      Who was the last pass first point guard to win a chip?

    • @WeMoomingNow
      @WeMoomingNow 7 лет назад +1

      +Sean King Is not about passing point guard, is about that a team cannot rely on one player, whether it be pg, sg, sf, pf, or c, to score very a lot of points every game to win. A team needs a system to win, which often involves players having relatively stronger passing mentality (often the pg), or having duos, trios, that share the scoring responsibility, like Shaq and Kobe.

    I wouldn't blame Lavar on all the hype Lonzo's getting. Part of it is his fault sure, but most of the blame goes to all the Laker's fans out there. Like it or not, the Lakers are still one of the most popular NBA teams internationally. The showtime Lakers/Kobe eras produced the largest fanbase ever in league history. The larger the crowd, the greater the hype, the more delusional they become. Most are convinced their team will make the playoffs in the stacked af west. Even more believe that they could easily become league champions in the future without adding any other pieces to the team.

    He's still young and has loads of potential as a true point guard.He just needs the right stars around him. If Ingram could step it up and start putting up the points he should be; Lonzo will get him the ball...As a true point guard should. Hes young so give him at least a full season.

    Lonzo def didn't work out. Below average shooter and terrible finisher. Can pass and thats about it. He gets rebounds from standing around and waiting in them. His long arms help him get steals from the shorter point guards though, so that's a plus. Already traded after a few seasons is pretty bad.

    Stephen A should know better. The very next day Lonzo got 29/11/9.
    It's insane how people jump to conclusions after his first game at 19 years old. Who would have thought the very next game he would score 29 points and damn near get a triple double. Image how good he'll be in a few years. He'll be one of the best in the league.

    Lonzo Ball is averaging 4 for 11 FG's per game for 10.3 ppg because of his 35.8 FG%.
    Ben Simmons is averaging 7 for 13 FG's per game for 16.3 ppg because of his 53.6 FG%.
    Come on, a 17.8 FG% difference is the elephant in the room, Lakers fans. There is no comparison. Simmons is on another level. Lonzo, to his credit, does rebound and assist well, but still Ben is better in both categories. The only plus stat Lonzo has on Ben is that Lonzo average one less turnover. I think Lonzo's 3-pointers (currently only shooting 31.6%) aren't dropping because of a lack of confidence more than of his mechanics. Now, he's never gonna get off mid-range shots with his form, but he should be shooting from 3 better. I just haven't seen enough from Lonzo -- other than a good game here and there -- to tell me Lonzo is going to remain a starter in this league. His height advantage over most NBA guards will make him somewhat of a threat, but he's starting to look like Michael Carter Williams to me.
